It was Sorai\u27s conclusion after long studies of Chinese and Japanese history and after a 60-year long life that political disorder emanates from impoverishment. Prosperity is what makes a state live on, while impoverishment spells the downfall of a state. It was because the institutions had been beneficial in early China that impoverishment had not appeared and that the dynasties had lasted for more than 500 years. With a correct seido Sorai envisages that the Tokugawa state will also be prosperous and last for as long. With this in mind he wrote his memorandum, in which he described the sad situation and presented Shogun Yoshimune with numerous proposals for political and economic reforms. The paper finally compares the institutions which Sorai envisaged to be the correct ones on the go-board of Japan with the institutions which developed in Europe about the same time

The aim of the study was to provide answers to a historical question that still remains a blank spot in Russian historiography - what are the reasons for the banning of the Soviet architectural avant-garde in 1932. The article gives an answer to the question of the reasons why the supreme bodies of Soviet power ceased the development of Soviet constructivism. Reveals the socio-political motives of this decision. Describes the features of the functioning of the totalitarian-command system of management of the nation-wide project complex. It shows that the prohibition of constructivism was a direct consequence of the transformation of the free profession of an architect into a public service. Characterizes the position of the party and state leadership of the USSR in relation to the Soviet architectural avant-garde in general. The result of the study is to prove the fact that, after its official prohibition, constructivism has not disappeared, but has changed. It turned into the so-called ”Soviet functionalism”, which was a response to the need for the management metric criteria for evaluating design decisions. Soviet functionalism took from Soviet constructivism only what ensured the exercise of administrative functions of leadership and control. He took only what was the ”materialization” of meanings, only that which could be felt and measured. At the same time, reasoning about the form, rhythm, plasticity and other ”aesthetic nonsenses” were discarded as unnecessary.   Keywords: Soviet architectural avant-garde, constructivism, Stalin’s empire, architect profession in the USS

Capitals gather constellations of bright and creative people, attracting them from the peripheries. Tchekhov’s sisters were anxious to get to Moscow, d’Artagnan – to Paris. Evtushenko, Shukshin and Gaidai ascended to the climax of their glory, having moved to the capital. Vampilov, Rasputin and Astafiev became internationally famous without leaving their home grounds, but having joined in the metropolitan whirl. In this regard, the architectural profession differs greatly from the literary and cinematographic ones. The destinies of the masters who fulfilled themselves far from the capital are different but equally bright and unique. The Irkutsk “Varangians”of the sixtieth – Voronezhsky, Bukh and Pavlov – built up their relations with geography in a different way:someone came from the capitals just for a few years that became the brightest, the most fruitful and the most interesting years of his creative life. But someone stayed in the non-metropolitan city for a long time and even forever. This subsection contains certain examples of self-fulfillment in the cities distant from the capitals: Khabarovsk, Irkutsk, Bratsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo and Anzhero-Sudzhensk.

The phase equilibria in the Au-In-Ga ternary system

The phase equilibria of the Au–In–Ga system were investigated for the first time using Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). A new ternary phase (Au2InGa2) with the hexagonal structure (P63/mmc) was discovered which melts incongruently at 394 °C. From the experimental results, several invariant reactions have been identified and discussed

    Молчанье поля Куликова

The notion of landscape is closely related to classifying and sense-making perception.  The presence of an architectural object can drastically change the semantic field of the landscape. The museum complex “The Battle of Kulikovo Field” transforms a typical mid-Russian steppe landscape into an object filled with historical, mythological, ideological and other senses. As a result, a natural object becomes an object of text and book urban culture.
