A probabilistic method for gradient estimates of some geometric flows

In general, gradient estimates are very important and necessary for deriving convergence results in different geometric flows, and most of them are obtained by analytic methods. In this paper, we will apply a stochastic approach to systematically give gradient estimates for some important geometric quantities under the Ricci flow, the mean curvature flow, the forced mean curvature flow and the Yamabe flow respectively. Our conclusion gives another example that probabilistic tools can be used to simplify proofs for some problems in geometric analysis.Comment: 22 pages. Minor revision to v1. AbstractShenfu Injection (SFI) is a well-defined Chinese herbal formulation that is obtained from red ginseng and processed aconite root. The main active constituents in SFI are ginsenosides and aconitum alkaloids. In this work, ginsenosides (ginsenoside Rg1, ginsenoside Rb1 and ginsenoside Rc) and aconitum alkaloids (benzoylmesaconine and fuziline) were used as the index components to explore the pharmacokinetic behavior of SFI. A selective and sensitive HPLC–MS/MS method was developed for the quantification of ginsenosides and aconitum alkaloids in dog plasma and was used to characterize the pharmacokinetics of the five index components after intravenous drip of three different dosages of SFI in beagle dogs. The pharmacokinetic properties of the index components were linear over the dose range of 2–8mL/kg

Purpose: To investigate the effect of WT1(Wilms tumor-suppressor gene) overexpression on premature ovarian failure (POF)-mediated ovarian dysfunction. Methods: Three mice groups were used: control group (untreated mice), POF group (mice sterilized by intravenous injection of cyclophosphamide and busulfan), and POF-LV(lentiviral vector)GFP(green fluorescent protein)WT1 group (POF mice given intra-ovarian microinjection of LVGFPWT1, a WT1overexpressing lentiviral vector, one week after sterilization). Real time-PCR was employed to analyze in vitro WT1 overexpression levels. Overall ovarian function was measured by hormonal assay, H & E staining, and immuno-histochemical techniques. Results: Overexpression of WT1 in mice models of POF alleviated ovarian granulosa cell (GC) damage, increased ovary weight, and significantly increased follicular number (p < 0.05). Radioimmunoassays revealed reduction in plasma estradiol (E2) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH, p < 0.05). However, results from immune-histochemical assays showed reduced Bax expression levels, and increased expression of Bcl-2 in WTI-overexpression mice, relative to POF mice. Conclusion: Overexpression of WT1 may stimulate repair of ovarian tissue while improving endocrine function by inhibiting ovarian cell apoptosis signaling pathway in POF mice. Keywords: Premature ovarian failure, Wilms tumor suppressor gene, Chemotherapy, Apoptosis, Estradio

Background Published data showed that the susceptibility of autoimmune diseases (ADs) was associated with the polymorphism rs2910164 in microRNA-146a (miR-146a). However, the results remain controversial so far. Two meta-analyses published in 2013 and 2014 came to opposite conclusions. In order to derive a more precise estimation of the relationship, we performed this meta-analysis. Methods We searched the PubMed, OvidSP and CNKI databases (published prior to September 8th, 2014) and extracted data from eligible studies. The procedure of meta-analysis was performed by using the Stata 12.0 software. Random effect model or fixed effect model were chosen respectively, according to the between study heterogeneities. Results A total of 24 case-control studies, 11 more than previous meta-analysis on this topic, were involved. We took stratified analyses by different ethnicities and different types of diseases in different genetic models. In Caucasian subgroup, significant increased risks of GC genotype and GC+CC genotype with ADs susceptibility were found in heterozygote model (GC vs GG, OR = 1.38, 95% CI 1.04–1.83, p = 0.024) and dominant model (GC+CC vs GG, OR = 1.37, 95% CI 1.01–1.85, p = 0.041), respectively. Meanwhile, in other disease subgroup, significant increased risks of C allele, CC genotype and GC+CC genotype were found in allele model (C vs G, OR = 1.16, 95% CI 1.04–1.31, p = 0.010), homozygote model (CC vs GG, OR = 1.42, 95% CI 1.10–1.84, p = 0.006) and dominant model (GC+CC vs GG, OR = 1.25, 95% CI 1.04–1.51, p = 0.020), respectively. Conclusions MiR-146a rs2910164 G\u3eC polymorphism was associated with the susceptibility of ADs

A Decision Model to Predict the Optimal Size of the Diversified Management Industry from the View of Profit Maximization and Coordination of Industrial Scale

To avoid the risk of single and homogeneous development, China’s coal enterprises have explored a diversified development model and are actively developing coal-based industries such as electric power, coal chemical, coal equipment manufacturing, logistics, and building materials. In previous studies of the diversification strategy, the focus has been placed on the motivation for diversification, the measurement of diversification, and the relationship between diversification and enterprise performance. From an enterprise strategic decision, we predicted the optimal size of each industry by considering the limited enterprise capital, human resources, the synergetic relationship among industrial clusters (mainly the scale coordination), and policy factors. The optimal decision model for diversified industrial management was constructed using linear programming methods. The decision target was to maximize the enterprise’s profit, but to also consider the social and environmental benefits. One of the largest listed coal enterprises in China, China Coal Energy (also a typical diversified enterprise), was selected as a case for analysis. Data were collected from surveys and annual reports from 2010 to 2014. The optimal scales of coal, electric power, chemical, and equipment manufacturing were predicted, and could be used as a reference for future enterprise production decisions. Furthermore, this decision model can be used as a reference for other diversified enterprises

BackgroundThe objective of this study is to analyze the characteristics of pediatric echocardiography clinical trials registered in ClinicalTrials.gov.MethodsA data set including pediatric echocardiography clinical trials was downloaded from ClinicalTrials.gov until May 13, 2022. We searched the PubMed, Medline, Google Scholar, and Embase databases to extract publication data. Pediatric echocardiography trial characteristics, application areas, and publication status were described. The secondary objectives were to evaluate factors associated with trial publication.ResultsWe identified 410 pediatric echocardiography reporting definite age, of which 246 were interventional and 146 were observational. Drug interventions were the most commonly studied (32.9%). The most applied area of pediatric echocardiography was congenital heart disease, followed by hemodynamics of preterm or neonatal infants, cardiomyopathy, inflammatory heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and cardio-oncology. According to the primary completion data, 54.9% of the trials were completed before August 2020. 34.2% of the trials had been published within 24 months. Union countries and quadruple masking were more likely to be published.ConclusionEchocardiography is rapidly evolving in pediatric clinical applications, including anatomic imaging and functional imaging. Novel speckle tracking techniques have also been pivotal in the assessment of cancer therapeutics-related cardiac dysfunction. A small number of clinical trials in pediatric echocardiography are published in a timely fashion. Concerted efforts are needed to promote trial transparency

Application of blends of walnut oil and palm stearin in soft spread base oil

To study the application of palm stearin and walnut oil blends in the base oil of soft spreads, the compatibility and crystalline properties of blends were determined. The results show that the SFC curves of blends changed in accordance with the characteristics of best SFC curve of soft spread when the content of walnut oil reached 20%, indicating the blends are suitable for soft spread base oil. At different temperatures, there were different compatibility between walnut oil and palm stearin. And the compatibility gradually became better with the increase of temperature. When the temperature was higher than 33.3 ℃, walnut oil and palm stearin can be completely compatible at all ratios. The yield value of palm stearin was much higher than the optimal yield value of soft spread, which means poor spread ability. The yield value of blends deceased upon addition of walnut oil. When the content of walnut oil was higher than 30%, the yield values of blends were in the range of soft spreads. Rheological temperature scanning results show that a strong crystal network existed in PST and the blends when the processing temperature was lower than 30 ℃, and can maintain a stable form during transportation and storage; it can also quickly melt near body temperature to give a similar taste to soft spread. The crystals in the blends are mainly β′ form. The results laid the foundation for the application of blends of palm stearin and walnut oil in soft spread
