    Due to the impact of the COVID epidemic, growth in the world\u27s three largest economies has stagnated, inflation has exceeded expectations, and the global economic outlook is bleak and full of uncertainty This study aims to analyze the phenomena of economic decline following the COVID outbreak by comparing the effects of the epidemic in 37 nations in the Asia-Pacific area (Korea, the Republic of; Cambodia; Papua New Guinea; Tuvalu, etc.) before and after the outbreak. The approach employed in this study is a longitudinal survey that analyzes the balance of payments, current account, total, net (BPM6), and percentage of GDP for eight years before and after the epidemic for various nations in the Asia-Pacific area. The data are then processed and analyzed in SPSS using the two-way ANOVA repeated measures method. The study\u27s findings indicate that the COVID-19 epidemic had a major economic impact on the Asia-Pacific area. In the Asia-Pacific area, the COVID outbreak did have an impact on the balance of payments, current account, gross, net, etc. It should be emphasized that the Asia-Pacific region has stricter national control requirements than other regions, which may have an impact on the study\u27s findings

    Building Footprint Generation Using Improved Generative Adversarial Networks

    Building footprint information is an essential ingredient for 3-D reconstruction of urban models. The automatic generation of building footprints from satellite images presents a considerable challenge due to the complexity of building shapes. In this work, we have proposed improved generative adversarial networks (GANs) for the automatic generation of building footprints from satellite images. We used a conditional GAN with a cost function derived from the Wasserstein distance and added a gradient penalty term. The achieved results indicated that the proposed method can significantly improve the quality of building footprint generation compared to conditional generative adversarial networks, the U-Net, and other networks. In addition, our method nearly removes all hyperparameters tuning.Comment: 5 page

    Influencing Factors of Catering O2O Customer Experience: An Approach Integrating Big Data Analytics with Grounded Theory

    In the era of digital economy, catering O2O is developing rapidly. Catering O2O (catering online to offline), namely catering takeout in the paper, means that customers place an order through online ordering platform, and delivery persons deliver the food provided by catering enterprises offline. Catering O2O conforms to the trend of the digital economy era, but exposes a variety of problems, such as lower feedback rate of the platform, lower timeliness of acceptance and handling, lower customer feedback satisfaction, and poorer customer experience. As China\u27s leading e-commerce platform for life services, Meituan won the rating of not recommending to place an order in the report of "2020 China E-commerce User Experience and Complaint Monitoring". In order to improve customer experience and service satisfaction of catering O2O, this paper takes Meituan takeout as an example, integrates big data analytics and grounded theory to explore influencing factors of catering O2O customer experience. With the big data analytics method, the main influencing factors are obtained from 54250 customer reviews, and then the grounded theory method is used to conduct in-depth analysis on negative reviews, and influencing factors of O2O customer experience are verified and confirmed. The results show that the main influencing factors of catering O2O customer experience are catering food quality and delivery service quality and after-sale service quality. Catering food quality and delivery service quality have a significant impact on customer experience. Finally, from perspectives of catering O2O platforms and enterprises, the paper obtains management implications as follows: Catering O2O platforms should attach great importance on the service of contact points in distribution link, strengthen the last-mile delivery service quality, and improve the supervision and feedback mechanism; catering O2O enterprises should ensure the quality, portion and package of catering food, so as to improve customer experience and win electronic word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction

    Efficacy of some selected neo-adjuvant chemotherapy regimens in the treatment of advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma, and their effects on immune function

    Purpose: To investigate the clinical efficacy of different neo-adjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) regimens in the treatment of advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), and their influence on immune function of the patients.Methods: Advanced OSCC patients (n = 94) who received NACT served as subjects in this study. They were assigned to 2 different treatment groups. Forty patients received docetaxel and fluorouracil regimen (DF group), while 54 patients received taxotere, cisplatin and fluorouracil regimen (TPF group). Surgery was performed after NACT. Changes in clinical efficacy and immune function were monitored in both groups. The clinical baseline data of patients were assessed prior to the treatments. Independent indicators of prognosis were determined using Cox regression analysis (CRA).Results: Clinical treatment efficacy was higher in TPF group than in DF group (p < 0.05). Objective remission rate (ORR) in DF group was lower than that in TPF group (p < 0.05). After chemotherapy, both groups had increased levels of CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+, and reduced level of CD8+, when compared with pre-chemotherapy values, with higher levels of CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ ratio, and lower level of CD8+ in TPF group than in DF group (p < 0.05). Multivariate CRA revealed that the independent factors for prognosis of oral carcinoma (OC) were tumor node metastasis (TNM) stage and lymph node metastasis.Conclusion: These results indicate that TFP regimen improves clinical efficacy and immune function in patients with advanced OSCC

    Determining the Effectiveness of Graphic-aided Dynamic Message Signs in Work Zone

    Portable changeable message signs (PCMSs) have been employed in highway work zones as an innovative temporary traffic control (TTC) device in the United Stated for many years. The traditional message format on a PCMS is text-based, which has been found to have several limitations in recent studies, such as confusing drivers and delaying their responses during driving, being difficult to read for older drivers and non-English-speaking drivers, and having a short range of legibility. The use of graphic-aided messages on PCMSs has many advantages over text-based PCMSs based on a number of previous laboratory simulation experiments. This research project used field experiments and driver surveys to determine the effectiveness of a graphic-aided PCMS on reducing vehicle speed and drivers' acceptance of utilizing a graphic-aided PCMS in the upstream of a one-lane two-way rural highway work zone. Field experiment were conducted to compare the effectiveness of text PCMS, graphic-aided PCMS, and graphic PCMS on reducing vehicle speed in a highway work zone in Kansas , and to develop regression models of the relationship between mean vehicle speed and distance under three PCMS conditions. Driver surveys were conducted to evaluate drivers’ opinions on the implementation of a graphicaided PCMS in the highway work zone. The findings showed that 1) using a text, a graphic-aided, and a graphic PCMS resulted in a mean vehicle speed reduction of 13%, 10%, and 17%, respectively; 2) using a graphic-aided PCMS reduced mean vehicle speed more effectively than using a text PCMS from 1,475 ft to 1,000 ft in the upstream of a work zone; using a graphic PCMS reduced mean vehicle speed more effectively than using a text PCMS from 1,475 ft in the upstream of the work zone to the location of the second TTC sign (W20-4 sign); 3) the majority of drivers understood the work zone and flagger graphics and believed the graphics drew their attention more to the work zone traffic conditions; and 4) more drivers preferred the information to be presented in the graphic-aided and graphic formats if the graphic-aided and graphic PCMSs were available

    Randomness invalidates criminal smart contracts

    A smart contract enforces specific performance on anonymous users without centralization. It facilitates payment equity in commerce by providing irreversible transactions. Smart contracts are also used for illegal activities such as money laundering and ransomware. Such contracts include criminal smart contracts (CSCs), proposed in CCS’16, that can be efficiently implemented in existing scripting languages. This aggravates concerns about the dangers of CSCs. However, PublicLeaks, a CSC for leaking private data, is conditionally implemented as it is influenced by various factors. For example, PublicLeaks does not necessarily reach a desirable terminal state for a criminal leaking private information, and other possible terminal states may invalidate the CSC. In this study, we propose a CSC based on PublicLeaks by formulating random factors such as the donation ratio. Our contract forks into five terminal states, including a unique one in PublicLeaks due to randomness. We simulated the maximal probabilities of these terminal states and found that the desirable terminal state in PublicLeaks is reachable with low probabilities (lower than 25%). The terminal state where the criminal fails to leak private information is attained with relatively high probabilities (over 65%). Therefore, our simulations show that CSCs are not always as powerful as expected, and the risk posed by them can be mitigated
