Asca: less audio data is more insightful

Audio recognition in specialized areas such as birdsong and submarine acoustics faces challenges in large-scale pre-training due to the limitations in available samples imposed by sampling environments and specificity requirements. While the Transformer model excels in audio recognition, its dependence on vast amounts of data becomes restrictive in resource-limited settings. Addressing this, we introduce the Audio Spectrogram Convolution Attention (ASCA) based on CoAtNet, integrating a Transformer-convolution hybrid architecture, novel network design, and attention techniques, further augmented with data enhancement and regularization strategies. On the BirdCLEF2023 and AudioSet(Balanced), ASCA achieved accuracies of 81.2% and 35.1%, respectively, significantly outperforming competing methods. The unique structure of our model enriches output, enabling generalization across various audio detection tasks. Our code can be found at https://github.com/LeeCiang/ASCA.Comment: 6 pages,3 figure

Soulstyler: Using Large Language Model to Guide Image Style Transfer for Target Object

Image style transfer occupies an important place in both computer graphics and computer vision. However, most current methods require reference to stylized images and cannot individually stylize specific objects. To overcome this limitation, we propose the "Soulstyler" framework, which allows users to guide the stylization of specific objects in an image through simple textual descriptions. We introduce a large language model to parse the text and identify stylization goals and specific styles. Combined with a CLIP-based semantic visual embedding encoder, the model understands and matches text and image content. We also introduce a novel localized text-image block matching loss that ensures that style transfer is performed only on specified target objects, while non-target regions remain in their original style. Experimental results demonstrate that our model is able to accurately perform style transfer on target objects according to textual descriptions without affecting the style of background regions. Get PDF
Antiperovskite Li3OCl superionic conductor films are prepared via pulsed laser deposition using a composite target. A significantly enhanced ionic conductivity of 2.0 × 10-4 S cm-1 at room temperature is achieved, and this value is more than two orders of magnitude higher than that of its bulk counterpart. The applicability of Li3OCl as a solid electrolyte for Li-ion batteries is demonstrated

Background and objective TACE, Ar-He target cryosurgery and radioactive seeds implantation are the mainly micro-invasive methods in the treatment of lung cancer. This article summarizes the survival quality after treatment, the clinical efficiency and survival period, and analyzes the advantages and shortcomings of each methods so as to evaluate the clinical effect of non-small cell lung cancer with multiple minimally invasive treatment. Methods All the 139 cases were nonsmall cell lung cancer patients confirmed by pathology and with follow up from July 2006 to July 2009 retrospectively, and all of them lost operative chance by comprehensive evaluation. Different combination of multiple minimally invasive treatments were selected according to the blood supply, size and location of the lesion. Among the 139 cases, 102 cases of primary and 37 cases of metastasis to mediastinum, lung and chest wall, 71 cases of abundant blood supply used the combination of superselective target artery chemotherapy, Ar-He target cryoablation and radiochemotherapy with seeds implantation; 48 cases of poor blood supply use single Ar-He target cryoablation; 20 cases of poor blood supply use the combination of Ar-He target cryoablation and radiochemotheraoy with seeds implantation. And then the pre- and post-treatment KPS score, imaging data and the result of follow up were analyzed. Results The KPS score increased 20.01 meanly after the treatment. Follow up 3 years, 44 cases of CR, 87 cases of PR, 3 cases of NC and 5 cases of PD, and the efficiency was 94.2%. Ninety-nine cases of 1 year survival (71.2%), 43 cases of 2 years survival (30.2%), 4 cases with over 3 years survival and the median survival was 19 months. Average survival was (16±1.5)months. There was no severe complications, such as spinal cord injury, vessel and pericardial aspiration. Conclusion Minimally invasive technique is a highly successful, micro-invasive and effective method with mild complications. To non-small cell lung cancer, we can improve the middle and long term clinical effect by using the different combination of multiple minimally invasive treatments according to the patient's condition

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Many studies have found that stress before or during pregnancy is linked to an increased incidence of behavioural disorders in offspring. However, few studies have investigated hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activity and the serotonergic system as a consequence of pregestational stress. In the present study, we investigated the effect of pre-gestational stress on HPA axis activity in maternal rats and their foetuses and examined whether changes in HPA axis activity of maternal rats produced functional changes in the serotonergic system in the brain of foetuses.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>We used the behavioural tests to assess the model of chronic unpredictable stress (CUS) in maternal rats. We found the activity in the open field and sucrose consumption was lower for rats with CUS than for the controls. Body weight but not brain weight was higher for control foetuses than those from the CUS group. Serum corticosterone and corticotrophin-releasing hormone levels were significantly higher for mothers with CUS before pregnancy and their foetuses than for the controls. Levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) were higher in the hippocampus and hypothalamus of foetuses in the CUS group than in the controls, and 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) levels were lower in the hippocampus in foetuses in the CUS group than in the control group. Levels of 5-HIAA in the hypothalamus did not differ between foetuses in the CUS group and in the control group. The ratio of 5-HIAA to 5-HT was significantly lower for foetuses in the CUS group than in the control group. Levels of 5-HT1A receptor were significantly lower in the foetal hippocampus in the CUS group than in the control group, with no significant difference in the hypothalamus. The levels of serotonin transporter (SERT) were lower in both the foetal hippocampus and foetal hypothalamus in the CUS group than in the control group.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Our data demonstrate that pre-gestational stress alters HPA axis activity in maternal rats and their foetuses, which is associated with functional changes in 5-HT activity (5-HT, 5-HIAA and ratio of 5-HIAA to 5-HT), as well as the levels of the 5-HT1A receptor and SERT in the hippocampus and hypothalamus of foetuses.</p

NOP Receptor Agonist Ro 64-6198 Decreases Escalation of Cocaine Self-Administration in Rats Genetically Selected for Alcohol Preference

Cocaine dependence is a psychiatric condition for which effective medications are still lacking. Published data indicate that an increase in nociceptin/orphanin FQ (N/OFQ) transmission by NOP receptor activation attenuates cocaine-induced place conditioning and the locomotor sensitization effects of cocaine. This suggests that the activation of the N/OFQ receptor (NOP) may attenuate the motivation for psychostimulants. To further explore this possibility, we investigated the effect of the potent and selective NOP receptor agonist Ro 64-6198 on cocaine intake under 1 h short access (ShA) and 6 h long access (LgA) operant self-administration conditions in rats. We used Marchigian Sardinian alcohol-preferring (msP) rats and Wistar control rats. msP rats were used because we recently found that this rat line, originally selected for excessive alcohol drinking and preference, exhibits a greater propensity to escalate cocaine self-administration following LgA training. msP rats are also characterized by innate overexpression of the N/OFQ-NOP system compared with Wistar rats. Wistar and msP rats both exhibited an increase in cocaine self-administration under LgA conditions, with a higher trend toward escalation in msP rats. In Wistar rats, the intraperitoneal administration of Ro 64-6198 (0. 1 and 3 mg/kg) significantly decreased ShA cocaine self-administration. In Wistar rats that underwent LgA cocaine self-administration training, Ro 64-6198 induced no significant effect either during the first hour of self-administration or after the entire 6 h session. In msP rats, Ro 64-6198 significantly reduced cocaine self-administration both under ShA conditions and in the first hour of the LgA session. At the end of the 6 h session, the effect of Ro 64-6198 was no longer observed in msP rats. The highest dose of Ro 64-6198 (3 mg/kg) did not affect saccharin self-administration in msP rats but reduced saccharin self-administration in Wistar rats. Altogether, these data suggest that NOP receptor activation attenuates cocaine self-administration, and this effect tends to be more pronounced in a rat line with innately higher NOP receptor expression and that more robustly escalates cocaine intake

With the rapid development of global communications business, future personal communication wireless mobile communicationtechnology has aroused great concern. Way to eliminate the impact of co-channel interference (CCI), multiple access interference (MAI)and multipath fading becomes a major factor in improving the performance of wireless mobile communication systems. The smart antennauses the digital signal processing technology to generate the spatial directional beam so that the antenna main beam is aligned with thedirection of arrival of the user signal. The side lobe or the zero point is aligned to the direction of the interfering signal to reach the fullefficient use of the mobile subscriber signal, thus remove or suppress the interference signal purpose. Compared with other increasinglydeep and mature interference removal technology, the application of smart antenna technology in mobile communication is even more in theascendant and showing great potential. One of the key technologies of the third generation mobile communication standard TD-SCDMAsystem submitted by our country is the intelligent antenna technology. The paper introduces the history and development of the smartantenna in detail, and deeply analyzes the application of the smart antenna in TD-SCDMA.
