    Cd2+ Ions Removal from Aqueous Solutions Using Alginite

    Alginate has been evaluated as an efficient pollution control material. In this paper, alginate from maar Pinciná (SR) for removal of Cd2+ ions from aqueous solution was studied. The potential sorbent was characterized by X-Ray Fluorescence Analysis (RFA) analysis, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectral Analysis (FT-IR) and Specific Surface Area (SSA) was also determined. The sorption process was optimized from the point of initial cadmium concentration effect and effect of pH value. The Freundlich and Langmuir models were used to interpret the sorption behaviour of Cd2+ ions, and the results showed that experimental data were well fitted by the Langmuir equation. Alginate maximal sorption capacity (QMAX) for Cd2+ ions calculated from Langmuir isotherm was 34 mg/g. Sorption process was significantly affected by initial pH value in the range from 4.0-7.0. Alginate is a comparable sorbent with other materials for toxic metals removal

    A Phase I Trial of Allogeneic γδ T Lymphocytes From Haploidentical Donors in Patients With Refractory or Relapsed Acute Myeloid Leukemia

    Introduction: We report the results of a phase I clinical trial NCT03790072 of an adoptive transfer of γδ T lymphocytes from haploidentical donors in patients with refractory/relapsed acute myeloid leukemia after lymphodepletion regimen./ Patients and methods: Healthy donor mononuclear cells collected by leukapheresis were consistently expanded to generate products of 109 to 1010 γδ T cells. Seven patients received donor-derived T cell product at doses of 106/kg (n = 3), 107/kg (n = 3), and 108/kg (n = 1)./ Results: Four patients had bone marrow evaluation at day 28. One patient had a complete remission, one was classified as morphologic leukemia-free state, one had stable disease and one had no evidence of response. In one patient, there was evidence of disease control with repeat infusions up to 100 days after first dosing. There were no treatment-related serious adverse events or treatment-related Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events grade 3 or greater toxicities at any dose level. Allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cell infusion was shown to be safe and feasible up to a cell dose of 108/kg./ Discussion: In agreement with previously published studies, the infusion of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 cells was safe. The contribution of lymphodepleting chemotherapy to responses seen cannot be ruled out. Main limitation of the study is the low number of patients and interruption due to COVID-19 pandemic./ Conclusion: These positive Phase 1 results support progression to phase II clinical trials

    Tuning Deazaflavins Towards Highly Potent Reducing Photocatalysts Guided by Mechanistic Understanding – Enhancement of the Key Step by the Internal Heavy Atom Effect

    Deazaflavins are well suited for reductive chemistry acting via a consecutive photo-induced electron transfer, in which their triplet state and semiquinone – the latter is formed from the former after electron transfer from a sacrificial electron donor – are key intermediates. Guided by mechanistic investigations aiming to increase intersystem crossing by the internal heavy atom effect and optimising the concentration conditions to avoid unproductive excited singlet reactions, we synthesised 5-aryldeazaflavins with Br or Cl substituents on different structural positions via a three-component reaction. Bromination of the deazaisoalloxazine core leads to almost 100 % triplet yield but causes photo-instability and enhances unproductive side reactions. Bromine on the 5-phenyl group in ortho position does not affect the photostability, increases the triplet yield, and allows its efficient usage in the photocatalytic dehalogenation of bromo- and chloroarenes with electron-donating methoxy and alkyl groups even under aerobic conditions. In connection with growing importance of internet marketing arises question how effective are internet marketing tools and what are their benefits. This thesis compares benefits and effectiveness to a sample of internet marketing tools based on the branch metrics and based on a Return On Investment. The research includes 10 apllied tools of internet marketing from 12 described in a theoretical part. The thesis showes different effectivity and benefits for a different internet marketing tools while the method of the research could be also different according to the specific internet marketing tool

    Utilization of biocompatible hydrogels based on 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate to bridge the spinal cord lesion MUDr. Petr LesnĂ˝ Biocompatible hydrogels based on copolymers of 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate are suitable for implantation into a central nervous tissue lesion. Our prepared hydrogels were macroporous with predominantly communicating pores, and their mechanical properties were similar to those of spinal cord tissue. After we confirmed their biocompatibility by the growth of mesenchymal stem cells and determined the hydrogel diffusion properties, we implanted the prepared hydrogels into acute spinal cord injury in laboratory rats and studied the process of spinal cord tissue regeneration within the implants. When the hydrogels were implanted in subacute phase of spinal cord injury, we observed favorable impact on the spinal cord tissue regeneration and reduction of pseudocyst formation. Using histological and immunohistochemical methods, we observed the ingrowth of central nervous tissue elements (connective tissue, vessels, neurofilaments, Schwann cells, astrocyte processes) into the hydrogels implanted into the spinal cord hemisections.     The objective of this Bachelor thesis is the creating of new model of organization culture which can make organization culture possible to be evaluated with the emphasis on easy applicability and financial modesty in comparison to other commonly-used models. The creating of OC-4 model was based on the connections between the pices of knowledge from second bibliografy, author's ideas and the examples of practice. Functionality of the model was verified by applying the new model to two organizations through the structured and unstructed talks. The results of the model were analyzed and consequently discussed.
