    Ao longo dos anos o termo cuidar tem sido comum na teoría e prática de enfermagem, mas na busca de uma compreensão maior para esse termo nos defrontamos com alguns questionamentos. Foram selecionados para este trabalho três autores que vêm se dedicando ao estudo do cuidar/cuidado (care/caring) visando apresentar o que esses entendem sobre o mesmo, seus objetivos, importância e componentes. Finalmente são levantadas algumas questões visando a reflexão do pessoal de enfermagem.Along the years, the word care has been a common one for those involved with nursing theory and practive; nevertheless, on our search for a beter understanding of that word, quite a number of questionings came up. On developing our work, we have selected three authors who have been dedicatingtheir efforts to the study of care/caring, and tried to present what those authors understand about such dyad, its goals, importance and components.     Transcultural nursing society position statement on human rights.

    In 2006, the Transcultural Nursing Society created a business plan with a firm commitment to social change and the support of human rights. One of the primary goals of the plan was to seek recognition from the United Nations as a Human Rights Organization. As a first step in articulating this goal, the board of trustees of TCNS tasked a small group of Transcultural Nursing Scholars to develop a position statement. This article is the culmination of the collaborative task force's efforts to define how TCNS seeks the fulfillment of human rights for people of all cultures worldwide
