Social Media Strategic Plan For Under Armour

    Get PDF
This thesis is a study of the effects of social media on an organization’s integrated marketing communications strategy in general and provides a proposal of how the sports apparel company Under Armour could use social media to enhance its promotional strategies. It is a discussion of the implications that social media has on consumer behavior with focus on how social media has changed the way today’s consumers interact with brands. This thesis provides an analysis of the growing importance of social media being implemented within a business. Benefits discussed include the appeal of social media over traditional media, increased customer satisfaction, increased loyalty, and brand awareness. A list of essential social media networking sites is discussed under the different platforms of networking, promoting and sharing, highlighting their importance to a business. Under Armour’s current social media presence is discussed and how social media has become a new component of the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) mix. An illustration of how Homeland/Embassy strategy uses social media is provided as an example of how Under Armour could use social media in its IMC mix

Ageing and Pension Reform in a Small Open Economy: The Role of Savings Incentives

In this paper we analyse the effects of ageing in a small open economy with a representative government. More specific, we adress the question whether in case of ageing a transition from an unfunded to a more funded pension scheme is politically feasible. We show that the existence of a suitable subsidy on savings is crucial in this respect. Without a subsidy on savings, the economy is trapped at the preexisting level of saving and ageing leads to an increase of the PAYG tax. However, if a subsidy exists which is linked to the tax rate in a non-linear way a conversion from PAYG to funded pensions is politically feasible.ageing;overlapping generations;pensions

Family Size, Looming Demographic Changes and the Efficiency of Social Security Reform

This paper analyses the eeffects of ageing and child support in a model with endogenous fertility and Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) pensions. First, we show that the endogeneity of fertility makes society vulnerable to both pessimistic beliefs and changes in life expectancy. In particular, we show that the private fertility choice may not coincide with the social optimum, due to the existence of two external effects of a child on society as a whole. The market outcome without government intervention is efficient, however, as both externalities exactly cancel out in that case. If the government wants to redistribute towards the old, it cannot replicate the command optimum by merely applying lump-sum transfers, but rather needs a child allowance scheme to effectively alter the number of offspring chosen by households. Finally, we analyse whether a Pareto-improving social security reform is possible. It is shown that a mere reduction of the PAYG-scheme cannot be Pareto-improving, but a combined policy of decreasing the PAYG-tax and introducing child allowances can be.child allowances;ageing;pensions;endogenous fertility;rumours;overlapping generations;social security reform

The Politics of Pension Reform under Ageing

In this paper we address the question whether in case of population ageing a transition from an unfunded to a more funded pension scheme is politically feasible in a representative democracy. We consider two parties: a right-wing party which is willing to trade off intragenerational equity against efficiency gains in intergenerational redistribution, and a left-wing party which does not want to adjust the level of intragenerational distribution. We show that, in an economy with an exogenously given interest rate, only a thus defined right-wing government will propose a social-security reform. Moreover, we demonstrate that such a policy proposal may lead to electoral success if it entails an appropriate mix of distributional efficiency and equity.Ageing, overlapping generations, pensions

Autism: Benefits and Outcomes of Early Diagnosis and Intervention

    Get PDF
•The purpose of this review was to determine the importance of early diagnosis and intervention during infancy, leading to significant outcomes which include improvements in communication skills, receptive language and social interaction in children with ASD. •Nass et al.,(2016) described ASD as a “heterogeneous group of biologically based, neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by impairments in two areas: deficits in social communication and social interactions and restricted plus repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, and activities” •The findings showed that early diagnosis and referral to intervention makes a significant impact on children with ASD showing improvements in many areas of delay including receptive communication, adaptive behavior, social interactions, social approach, joint attention, and IQ. •The finding found when applying early intervention children maintained the gains in all areas with no to minimal regression loss of skills after a two year follow-up. •The findings indicated that most providers that incorporate screening tools into their practice are referring to early intervention centers and the children are starting intervention prior to official diagnosis. •The findings showed that most children are being diagnosed at appropriate ages ranging from 30-120 months.https://commons.und.edu/pas-grad-posters/1042/thumbnail.jp

This thesis will overview technology in the classroom and the impact as well as the potential that is has individualizing instruction in order to meet the needs of every kind of student. The thesis will consist of thorough research on the subject matter. Technology is a great tool to use for individualizing instruction as it consists of many recourses, it increases communication, increases discussion, has high availability, it is affordable, and consists of a variety of lesson plan ideas to meet the needs of each student. Individualized learning is especially important in the classroom as it increases student achievement, provides quality lessons, and connects with students. Individualized learning has the ability to reach all kinds of students such as at-risk students, English language learners, and students with special needs. It is a universal design for learning and has an endless amount of possibilities for the future
