Abstract: Thua Thien Hue is a locality with many potentials to develop craft village products. In the context of deep integration, the use of intellectual property tools, namely collective mark, is one of the prerequisites for craft villages to show their strength and value of brands and better export products to international markets. This study clarifies the status of building collective marks for craft village products in Thua Thien Hue province. The research analyzes the secondary data, uses the descriptive statistics of primary data obtained from in-depth interviews with 5 experts and surveys 28 collective mark owners in the locality. The results reflect the status of collective marks for craft products in Thua Thien Hue province through two aspects: (i) the status of collective mark registration and (ii) support activities for building and managing collective marks for craft village products of management agencies in Thua Thien Hue province. Thereby, the study points out outstanding issues and proposes solutions to building and developing collective marks for craft village products in Thua Thien Hue.Keywords: collective mark, craft village product, Thua Thien Hu

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting the motivation of civil servants at the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province. Based on data collected from 181 officers at the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province,  researchers processed all data by SPSS with some techniques such as: descriptive statistics, Cronbach's Alpha, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Multivariate Regression Analysis... The research results show that there are 6 factors affecting the motivation of officers at the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, including: (i) Working conditions; (ii) Nature of work; (iii) Career development opportunities; (iv) Income and benefits; (v) Relationship with leaders and (vi) Relationships with colleagues. Based on the research results, a number of solutions have been proposed to improve the work motivation in the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue.Keywords: work motivation, civil servants, Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committe

Atypical Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease or new uveomeningitic syndrome?

Purpose: To report on a patient affected by bilateral intermediate uveitis (IU) as the initial sign of an uveomeningitic syndrome. Methods: Thorough history, physical examination and ancillary laboratory and radiological testing were performed in this observational case study. Results: A 23-year-old Caucasian man developed bilateral IU, primarily diagnosed as "idiopathic” since a detailed etiologic work-up was not indicative of underlying disease. Seven months later, he presented with poliosis and vitiligo. Lumbar puncture revealed cerebrospinal fluid pleocytosis. Optical coherence tomography showed bilateral subclinical macular edema (ME). The visual acuity was still 20/20 in both eyes. Clinical, laboratory and radiological results did not fit into any known syndrome. Conclusions: According to all the tests performed, the disease in our patient is a uveomeningitic disease with IU and ME which could be interpreted as an atypical form of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease or a new uveomeningitic syndrome because there is no evidence for any other known diseas

FPGA Implementation of Channel Mismatch Calibration in TIADCs for Signals in Any Nyquist Bands

    Get PDF
This paper presents a fully digital background calibration technique of the gain and timing mismatches in undersampling Time-Interleaved Analog-to-Digital Converters for the wideband bandlimited input signal at any Nyquist bands. The proposed technique does not require an additional reference channel nor a pilot input. The channel mismatch parameters are estimated based on the mismatch frequency band. The experimental results shows the efficiency of the proposed mitigation technique with the SNDR improvement of 16dB for 4-channel 60dB SNR TIADC clocked at 2.7GHz given a multi-tone input occupied at the third Nyquist band. The hardware architecture of the proposed technique is designed and validated on Altera FPGA DE4 board. The synthesized design utilizes a very little amount of the hardware resource in the FPGA chip and works correctly on a Hardware-In-the-Loop emulation framework

Social capital and job search success: The case of undergraduates in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

    Get PDF
The literature has proven the positive role of social capital on job search success, but the researchers' community has not been convinced completely because social capital is not always good. Moreover, only certain dimensions of the two latent variables were analyzed in the previous research though they are multidimensional. This paper approached the social capital and job search success multidimensionally by applying Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) to explore the path that social capital impacts on job search success. The primary data of 400 undergraduates in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam were used in the model. The results have confirmed the positive role of bonding social capital and general trust in acquired job quality, job search cost and job search convenience

A long range, energy efficient internet of things based drought monitoring system

    Get PDF
The climate change and global warning have been appeared as an emerging issue in recent decades. In which, the drought problem has been influenced on economics and life condition in Vietnam. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, we have designed and deployed a long range and energy efficient drought monitoring based on IoT (Internet of Things) for real time applications. After being tested in the real condition, the proposed system has proved its high dependability and effectiveness. The system is promising to become a potential candidate to solve the drought problem in Vietnam

Data Partitioning and Asynchronous Processing to Improve the Embedded Software Performance on Multicore Processors

    Get PDF
Nowadays, ensuring information security is extremely inevitable and urgent. We are also witnessing the strong development of embedded systems, IoT. As a result, research to ensure information security for embedded software is being focused. However, studies on optimizing embedded software on multi-core processors to ensure information security and increase the performance of embedded software have not received much attention. The paper proposes and develops the embedded software performance improvement method on multi-core processors based on data partitioning and asynchronous processing. Data are used globally to be retrieved by any threads. The data are divided into different partitions, and the program is also installed according to the multi-threaded model. Each thread handles a partition of the divided data. The size of each data portion is proportional to the processing speed and the cache size of the core in the multi-core processor. Threads run in parallel and do not need synchronization, but it is necessary to share a general global variable to check the executing status of the system. Our research on embedded software is based on data security, so we have tested and assessed the method with several block ciphers like AES, DES, etc., on Raspberry PI3. The average performance improvement rate achieved was 59.09%

Measuring production efficiency level of Vietnam for inputs imported from China

In recent years, many countries in ASEAN have depended significantly on products imported from China. This study presents the analysis of dependence level of inputs imported by Vietnam from China. Using production elasticity index as the measurement, the results of research shows that the imported inputs from China are effective for Vietnam’s economy. In addition, in comparison to the inputs imported from other remaining countries in the world, the import from China brought higher production efficiency for Vietnam in most of the industries

China Trade Expansion: A Case Study of Vietnam

Vietnam encountered the unexpected trade deficit with China in the recent years. Upon establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community on December 31st, 2015, the import tax rates of the regional countries have been reduced significantly. This facilitates the quality goods from the ASEAN countries overflowing into Vietnam. Nevertheless, a few research and analysis on the challenge of importing goods from China under the regional economic integration. To settle these issues, this paper analyzes the China‘s market expansion into Vietnam. In addition, it also compares the Vietnam's import structure from China and other countries in ASEAN. The results showed that China is always the top export partner of Vietnam, particularly, machinery and raw materials.
