Des « mouvements émotionnels » à la mobilisation des émotions

The development of victim activism provided an opportunity to study the role of emotions in collective action ­ a recent field of research on social movements. Indeed, sociologists as Walgrave and Verlhust characterize victims movements as “new emotional movements” for which they consider the affective variables predominant in participation. However the “emotionality” attributed to victim activism should not be viewed as an inherent property of this type of movement, but as a “folk construct”. Thus, the attribution of emotions is a common form of disqualification, in both the public as well as the judicial arena. Victim groups are thus stigmatized as “irrational” movements based on a sense of mourning, a desire for revenge or a traumatic shock rather than reasoned claims. This is why many victim spokespersons try to repress the public expression of their emotions. A fruitful direction is to leave aside the study of mobilizing emotions and to emphasize the analysis of mobilized emotions. The Practical Logic of Political Recruitment under the Constraint of Gender Parity Stéphane Latte The last French municipal elections saw the application of the law on parity, thus making the elaboration of lists of candidates more complex. The implementation of the new law contributed to the intrusion of actors that previously did not participate in the political game. It thus presents opportunities for the study of the social and political determinations of the recruitment of political personnel and of the way an external constraint on the electoral competition can be appropriated within a local political configuration. Through the presentation of a case study in Auxerre, the article tries and shows that the implementation of parity was the occasion of a massive redistribution of assets. Splits occurred, former political friendships and alliances were challenged. However, list leaders seemed to be able to convert this "obstacle" into a political resource that allowed them to reinforce their dominant position.Cuisine et dépendance.
