Pengabdian ini berfokus pada pelatihan menulis blog bagi guru di kota Semarang. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah pelatihan terfokus beserta evaluasi. Dari progam ini dihasilkan bahwa guru antusias dan dapat membuat blog secara mandiri. Guru pun telah mampu membuat tulisan pada blog pribadinya.     The Utilization of Microbial Inoculants Based on Irradiated Compost in Dryland Remediation to Increase the Growth of King Grass and Maize

    This research was conducted to evaluate the capability of functional microbial inoculants to remediate drylands. The microbial inoculants used consist of hydrocarbon-degrading microbial inoculants and plant-growth-promoting microbial inoculants. Compost-based carrier was sterilized by a gamma irradiation dose of 25 kGy to prepare seed inoculants. The irradiated-compost-based hydrocarbon-degrading microbial inoculants and king grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach.) were used to remediate oil-sludge-contaminated soil using in-situ composting for  60 days. The results showed that they could reduce THP (total petroleum hydrocarbons) by up to 82.23%. Plant-growth-promoting microbial inoculants were able to increase the dry weight of king grass from 47.39 to 100.66 g/plant, N uptake from 415.53 to 913.67 mg/plant, and P uptake from 76.52 to 178.33 mg/plant. Cow dung and irradiated-compost-based plant-growth-promoting microbial inoculants were able to increase the dry weight of maize (Zea mays L.) from 5.75 to 6.63 ton/ha (12.54%) and dry weight of grain potential from 5.30 to 7.15 ton/ha (35.03%). The results indicate that irradiated-compost-based microbial inoculants are suitable for remediating a dryland and therefore increase potential resources and improve the quality of the environment.Received: 17 March 2015; Revised: 28 October 2015; Accepted: 28 October 201

    In a country that is implementing a democratic system such as in Indonesia, Election is implementation of popular sovereignty which aims to bring a democratic government elected by the people. To perform their duties in administration of Elections, the Commissions established as one of the organizers of Election. This study will analyze the performance of Election Commission of Semarang and the dimensions that support and hinder the performance of Election Commission of Semarang in the National Election of 2014. This study uses the theory of organization and performance of the five dimensions they are productivity, service orientation, responsiveness, responsibility, and accountability with qualitative descriptive approach. To collect the data use the technique of observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study from informant's employees of Election Commission of Semarang. The results show the performance of Election Commission of Semarang in National Election of 2014 is not optimal yet, they found several obstacles on the dimensions of the problem of productivity such as human resources, limited budget and the socialization has not optimal yet. While the dimensions that support performance Election Commission of Semarang other already performing optimally, they are service orientation, responsiveness, responsibility, and accountability. To overcome the obstacles found, there are some suggestions that can be carried out by the Election Commission of Semarang to optimize its performance, such as education, training, and skills to improve the quality of human resources, increasing the number of human resources through the recruitment of government employees or increase the number of temporary employees, proposesincreasingthe number of budget in accordance with the needs required and improving the socialization to public intensively and regularly, not only at Election time is getting closer, but by applying democracy in everyday life

    Delignification of Sawdust White Teak (Gmelina Arborea Roxb.) by Fungi Phanerochaete Chrysosporium Irradiated Gamma Ray

    Lignocellulose biomass is waste wood harvesting should be a process for separating cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin that can be utilized. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the inoculant fungi Phanerochaete chrysosphorium gamma irradiation and chemical pretreatment to accelerate delignification powder white teak (Gmelina arborea Roxb.). In this research, pretreatment of substrate wood white teak (Gmelina arborea Roxb.) Using a solution of NaOH 1% and H2SO4 1% and gamma-ray irradiation Co-60, have the power of ionization is small, high penetrating power, and Co-60 which can emit gamma rays a short half-life time. This research was conducted in two stages, the first stage of determining the optimum dose gamma irradiation for fungi Phanerochaete chrysosphorium (0 Gy, 200 Gy, 400 Gy, 600 Gy, 800 Gy, and 1000 Gy) and the second stage of the analysis of the characteristics of the substrate wood white teak has been in pretreatment by methode Solid State Fermentation (SSF) for 21 days. The results showed that the optimum dose administration of gamma irradiation on fungi Phanerochaete chrysosphorium is a dose of 600 Gy which can increase the activity of enzymes lignin peroxidase (LiP) amounted to 22.18 U / mL. Chemical pretreatment process using H2SO4 1% biodelignification can accelerate the process of lignin degradation that produces the highest efficiency of 25.65%
