    From evidence to practice:development of web-based Dutch lipid reference values

    Introduction: In the Netherlands, the total number of yearly measured lipid profiles exceeds 500,000. While lipid values are strongly affected by age and sex, until recently, no up-to-date age- and sex-specific lipid reference values were available. We describe the translation of big-cohort lipid data into accessible reference values, which can be easily incorporated in daily clinical practice. Methods: Lipid values (total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides) from all healthy adults and children in the LifeLines cohort were used to generate age- and sex-specific percentiles. A combination of RStudio, Cascading Style Sheets and HyperText Markup Language was used to interactively display the percentiles in a responsive web layout. Results: After exclusion of subjects reporting cardiovascular disease or lipid-lowering therapy at baseline, 141,611 subjects were included. On the website, input fields were created for age, sex and all main plasma lipids. Upon input of these values, corresponding percentiles are calculated, and output is displayed in a table and an interactive graph for each lipid. The website has been made available in both Dutch and English and can be accessed at www.lipidtools.com. Conclusion: We constructed the first searchable, national lipid reference value tool with graphical display in the Netherlands to use in screening for dyslipidaemias and to reduce the underuse of lipid-lowering therapy in Dutch primary prevention. This study illustrates that data collected in big-cohort studies can be made easily accessible with modern digital techniques and preludes the digital health revolution yet to come

    Perencanaan suksesi menjadi faktor penting agar Perusahaan keluarga dapat bertumbuh dan berkembang dengan baik. Penelitian ini membahas perencanaan suksesi pada Perusahaan keluarga PT. Starindo Jaya Packaging. Kebanyakan Perusahaan keluarga di Indonesia, belum memiliki perencanaan suksesi. Oleh karena itu, peneliti tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian mengenai perencanaan suksesi di PT. Starindo Jaya Packaging. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis elemen-elemen yang dipersiapkan untuk perencanaan suksesi pada Perusahaan keluarga PT. Starindo Jaya Packaging. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara semi terstuktur, kemudian menguji keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber. Dalam menetapkan narasumber, peneliti menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini adalah Perusahaan sudah memiliki perencanaan suksesi tetapi untuk waktu pelaksanaan perencanaan suksesi masih belum diketahui. Dari penelitian disimpulkan bahwa persiapan calon suksesor dalam perencanaan suksesi ini dilakukan dengan memberi pelatihan dan pengalaman kerja agar nantinya suksesi dapat berjalan dengan baik

    Mentoring adalah rangkaian aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh banyak Perusahaan keluarga untuk mendukung keberhasilan proses suksesi kepemimpinan bisnis keluarga. PT ABD sedang dalam tahap melakukan mentoring untuk menyiapkan suksesor. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan karakteristik mentor dan mentee, dan aktivitas-aktivitas mentoring yang terjadi pada mentoring dalam proses suksesi kepemimpinan pada bisnis keluarga. Jenis penelitan ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode eksploratif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat aktivitas-aktivitas dalam mentoring yang masih kurang sepenuhnya dijalankan, khususnya pada aktivitas memfasilitasi.     This longitudinal study of the relationship between a Family Business Advisor (FBA) and client confirms that the advisory relationship is complex, evolutionary and influenced by multiple factors. The relationship passes through phases, the nature and relative importance of each varying with changes in the structure of the business, the role and expectations of the family, the level of trust between the FBA and the client, and the market in which the business is operating. Outcomes from one phase become inputs to the next and the interactions needs to be considered part of a process and not a series of individual events. Building upon the literature in this field, the experiences of the FBA in this case reveal four critical success factors; clarifying the identity of the client; making agreements with the client at key phases in the process; defining the nature of the process; and being clear on the desired outcomes. In some cases, the success of FBAs’ interventions may not mean ensuring that the business remains in family ownership; a successful outcome may be that the business continues under other ownership or management, but family unity has been preserved and individuals are doing what they want to do

    This paper will attempt to answer what the current state of contemporary democracy in Mexico is after the return of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) to the presidency by analysing the role of Civil Society, Political Society and the Rule of Law from 2012 to 2018. This paper will also explore if the party’s return was indeed a step backwards in the process of Mexican democratisation, or whether it was simply another step on a long road in which the various political parties alternate power. In 2018, Mexico elected its new president for the next consecutive 6 years along with a fair number of congressional seats and local gubernatorial posts, an election that again put Mexican democracy through a difficult test.Este documento intentará responder cuál es el estado actual de la democracia contemporánea en México después de la transición de 2000. Por lo tanto, abordará los problemas actuales en las tres áreas principales descritas en el modelo de transición de Linz y Stepan "Las cinco arenas": Sociedad civil, la sociedad política y el estado de derecho de 2012 a 2018. Este documento también explorará si el regreso del PRI a la presidencia en 2012 fue realmente un paso atrás en el proceso de democratización en el que México se había embarcado, o si fue simplemente otro paso en el largo camino en el que los diversos partidos políticos alternan el poder.
