Keanekaragaman Arthropoda Tanah Di Hutan Pendidikan Gunung Walat (Diversity of Soil Arthropods in Gunung Walat Education Forest)

Astudy was conducted to investigate the difference in abundance, richness, diversity and evenness of soil arthropods in Gunung Walat Education Forest, Sukabumi, West Java. Sampling was done in two difference habitats, e.g. burn and unburn habitat. A total of 1280 individuals from 40 families and 16 orders were collected by soil and litter extracting (Berlesse funnel). The biodiversity indices indicated that unburn habitat had a higher indices than that of burn habitat

Bukit Soeharto Forest Park at East Borneo Province has benefits for community in around it, not only direct use (tangible benefit) but also indirect use (intangible benefit). In order to identify the economic value benefit of the forest park, calculation of the total economic value of forest park Bukit Soeharto is required. By using productivity, substitution value and contingency approaches, any commodities such as tree, firewood, medicinal plant, fauna, rattan, fruit, honey, vegetables, water, carbon sink, coal, flood control, damage caused by forest fires, forest damage due to illegal logging and forest damage caused by coal mining the forest park, have total economic value of Rp. 141,390,367,264,492.00. This result of the research is expected give input for the Bukit Soeharto forest park community, for them to have high motivation to preserve the existent of the forest. For any stakeholders such as Regional Government, Forest Department, NGO, this research is expected to give inputs for the potential development of Bukit Soeharto forest park

Evaluation of F-Measure and Feature Analysis of C5.0 Implementation on Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Calling

Data growing in molecular biology has increased rapidly since Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology introduced in 2000, the latest technology used to sequence DNA with high throughput. Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) is a marker based on DNA which can be used to identify organism specifically. SNPs are usually exploited for optimizing parents selection in producing high-quality seed for plant breeding. This paper discusses SNP calling underlying NGS data of cultivated soybean (Glycine max [L]. Merr) using C5.0, an improved rule-based algorithm of C4.5. The evaluation illustrated that C5.0 is better than the other rule-based algorithm CART based on f-measure. The value of f-measure using C5.0 and CART are 0.63 and 0.58. Besides of that, C5.0 is robust for imbalanced training dataset up to 1:17 but it is suffer in large training dataset. C5.0's performance may be increased by applying bagging or the other ensemble technique as improvement of CART by applying bagging in final decision. The other important thing is using appropriate features in representing SNP candidates. Based on information gain of C5.0, this paper recommends error probability, homopolymer left, mismatch alt and mean nearby qual as features for SNP calling

Exploratory research in alternative raw material sources and reformulation for industrial soda-lime-silica glass batch

For energy saving and CO2 emissions reduction, in addition to extending the range of suitable raw material sources for glass manufacture, compositional reformulation, and alternative raw materials have been studied in the context of industrial container and float‐type soda‐lime‐silica (SLS) glasses. Lithium, potassium, and boron were applied to modify benchmark glass compositions. Reformulation impacts on key glass properties including the viscosity‐temperature relationship, thermal expansion, liquidus temperature, forming behavior and color. Compared to the benchmark glass, representative of commercial SLS glasses, melting temperatures (taken as temperatures corresponding to log (viscosity/dPa·s) = 2) of reformulated glasses are reduced by 11°C‐55°C. Investigation of four industrial by‐products (seashell waste, eggshell waste, biomass ash, and rice husk ash), and their potential suitability as alternative glass batch raw materials, was also conducted. Seashell waste and biomass ash were successfully introduced into representative green glass formulations
