PohjanlĂ€heisen ja syvyyskeskiarvotetun virtausrakenteen sekĂ€ uoman morfologian alueellisâajallinen muutos nousevan kevĂ€ttulvan aikana
Virtaava vesi muokkaa uomansa muotoa ja rakennetta tehokkaasti, kun taas uoman morfologia muuttaa veden virtausrakennetta. Lumien sulamisesta aiheutuvat kevÀttulvat kasvattavat virtaavan veden mÀÀrÀÀ ja virtausnopeutta tehostaen veden voimaa. Tulvien aikana tapahtuvien veden virtausrakenteen ja uoman pohjan morfologian muutosten ymmÀrtÀminen mahdollistaa ympÀristön olosuhteiden muutoksia ennakoivan vesirakentamisen ja jokiympÀristön kÀytön.
TĂ€ssĂ€ tutkimuksessa mitattiin ja analysoitiin jokikaarteen pohjanlĂ€heisen ja syvyyskeskiarvotetun virtausnopeuden ja âsuunnan sekĂ€ uoman morfologian pĂ€ivittĂ€isiĂ€ muutoksia kevĂ€ttulvan nousevassa vaiheessa. Virtausrakenne ja uoman morfologia mitattiin pĂ€ivittĂ€in akustisella virtausprofiilimittarilla (eng. acoustic doppler current profiler, ADCP). Virtausmittausten sijainti mitattiin VRSâGNSS âsatelliittipaikantimen avulla. PĂ€ivittĂ€iset pohjanlĂ€heiset ja syvyyskeskiarvotetut virtausnopeudet ja âsuunnat, pohjanlĂ€heinen kulutusvoima ja morfologian muutokset laskettiin alueellisesti tiheistĂ€ mittausaineistoista. PohjanlĂ€heistĂ€ ja syvyyskeskiarvotettua virtausnopeutta ja âsuuntaa sekĂ€ kulutusvoimaa ja morfologian muutosta vertailtiin. NĂ€iden muuttujien lisĂ€ksi tarkasteltiin myös pohjan aineskuljetuksen mÀÀrĂ€n muutosta.
Virtausnopeudet muuttuivat ajallisesti seuraten virtaaman vaihteluita. Siirretty Doriast
Flow Patterns and Morphological Changes in a Sandy Meander Bend during a FloodSpatially and Temporally Intensive ADCP Measurement Approach
The fluvio-geomorphological processes in meander bends are spatially uneven indistribution. Typically, higher velocities and erosion take place near the outer bank beyond thebend apex, while the inner bend point bar grows laterally towards the outer bank, increasing the bendamplitude. These dynamics maintain the meander evolution. Even though this development is foundin meandering rivers independent of soil or environmental characteristics, each river still seems tobehave unpredictably. The special mechanisms that determine the rate and occasion of morphologicalchanges remain unclear. The aim of this study is to offer new insights regarding flow-inducedmorphological changes in meander using a novel study approach. We focused on short-term andsmall-spatial-scale changes by conducting a spatially and temporally (daily) intensive survey duringa flood (a period of nine days) with an ADCP attached to a remotely controlled mini-boat. Based onour analysis, the flood duration and the rate of discharge increase and decrease seems to play keyroles in determining channel changes by controlling the flow velocities and depth and the backwatereffect may have notable influence on the morphological processes. We discuss themes such as theinteraction of inner and outer bend processes and the longer-term development of meander bends.</p
Foodborne Zoonoses Common in Hunted Wild Boars
The northern European wild boar population has increased during the last decade. Highest wild boar numbers in Finland have been reported in the southeastern part near the Russian border. Wild boars may be infected with several human and animal pathogens. In this study, we investigated the presence of important foodborne pathogens in wild boars hunted in 2016 in Finland using serology, PCR and culturing. Seroprevalence of Salmonella (38%) and Yersinia (56%) infections was high in wild boars. Antibodies to hepatitis E virus, Toxoplasma gondii and Brucella were found in 18%, 9% and 9% of the wild boars, respectively. Trichinella antibodies were detected in 1% of the animals. We recorded no differences in the seroprevalence between males and females. However, Yersinia and T. gondii antibodies were detected significantly more often in adults than in young individuals. Listeria monocytogenes (48%) and stx-positive Escherichia coli (33%) determinants were frequently detected in the visceral organs (spleen and kidneys) by PCR. Yersinia pseudotuberculosis O:1 and L. monocytogenes 2a and 4b were identified by culturing from the PCR-positive samples. Brucella suis biovar 2 was isolated from visceral organs. No African swine fever, classical swine fever or Aujeszky's disease were detected in the wild boars. Our study shows that wild boars are important reservoirs of foodborne pathogens.Peer reviewe
Plan4Blue Scenarios for Blue Growth: Qualitative analysis based on expert opinions
Plan4Blue scenario process has a strong participatory element that is implemented by Delphi study and workshops. The scenario process adds qualitative information from Delphi rounds and workshops and leads to analysis on possibilities, also via identifying existing synergies or conflicts between blue economy sectors. In the first phase of the Plan4Blue scenario building, the aim was to look at possibilities and probabilities in order to create the draft future images. The analysis contained all blue economy sectors, in order to identify the important ones in terms of future development. In the second phase, selected blue economy sectors were focused on, based to the results of first rounds of Delphi, and to the results of economic analysis in WP T1. This deliverable present the finalized alternative scenarios for Blue Growth, including futures tables, futures images, and possible pathways leading to the alternative scenarios. They have been created based to the results of the Delphi rounds carried out in 2017 and 2018, and scenario workshops in Helsinki 2017 and Tallinn 2018. Links to deliverables on current status of blue economic business sectors and development trends of key sectors, and sector strategies will be done. This deliverable combines the closely interlinked activity delivery reports:D.T1.4.1 The first report on feedback and views of crossboundary and multisector expert panelD.T1.5.1 Report of the first cross-border multilevel workshop, including first set of scenariosD.T1.9.1 Second report of the Delphi-panel: report of the views of the expertsD.T1.10.1 Report of the second cross-border multilevel workshop; including final scenariosD.T1.11.1 Final report of expert panel workThe maps produced as part of the process are presented in WP3 Deliverable D. Combined effects of human pressures on Europeâs marine ecosystems
Marine ecosystems are under high demand for human use, giving concerns about how pressures from human activities may affect their structure, function, and status. In Europe, recent developments in mapping of marine habitats and human activities now enable a coherent spatial evaluation of potential combined effects of human activities. Results indicate that combined effects from multiple human pressures are spread to 96% of the European marine area, and more specifically that combined effects from physical disturbance are spread to 86% of the coastal area and 46% of the shelf area. We compare our approach with corresponding assessments at other spatial scales and validate our results with European-scale status assessments for coastal waters. Uncertainties and development points are identified. Still, the results suggest that Europeâs seas are widely disturbed, indicating potential discrepancy between ambitions for Blue Growth and the objective of achieving good environmental status within the Marine Strategy Framework Directive
Musiikkiluokka osana koulun toimintakulttuuria : tapaustutkimus Savonlinnan musiikkiluokista
Olen tehnyt tutkimuksen musiikkiluokkien vaikutuksesta koulun toimintakulttuuriin lukuvuoden 2020â2021 aikana. Tutkimus on laadullinen tapaustutkimus musiikkiluokkatoiminnasta Savonlinnan Talvisalon koulun Heikinpohjan yksikössĂ€. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittÀÀ, miten musiikkiluokat vaikuttavat koulun toimintakulttuuriin, tarkemmin ottaen, miten musiikkiluokat nĂ€kyvĂ€t ja vaikuttavat koulun toiminta- ja juhlakulttuurissa.
KÀsittelen tutkimuksen teoreettisessa viitekehyksessÀ musiikinopetusta, musiikkiluokkien historiaa ja nykypÀivÀÀ sekÀ musiikkiluokkalaisia koskevia tutkimuksia ja asiakirjoja toimintakulttuuriin, arvoihin sekÀ tapa- ja juhlakulttuuriin liittyvien tutkimusten rinnalla. Tapaustutkimuksen luonteeseen viitaten painotan teoreettisessa viitekehyksessÀ Savonlinnan musiikkiluokkien historiaa ja nykypÀivÀÀ.
Toteutin tutkimuksen, koska musiikkiluokkien vaikutusta koulun toimintakulttuuriin on tutkittu vÀhÀn.
Tuloksista kÀvi ilmi, ettÀ musiikkiluokilla on positiivisia vaikutuksia koulun toimintakulttuuriin.
NÀen myöhemmÀn tutkimuksen haasteena tutkimuksen laajentamista eri musiikkiluokkakoulujen toimintakulttuureja vertailevaksi, jolloin voisin luoda ehdotuksia musiikkiluokkakoulujen toimintamalleiksi
