International audienceThe integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in teaching became a major problem in the university world. Thus, institutions of higher education are interested in tools supporting distance learning and groupware since many years. In France, the Ministry in charge of higher education developed the concept of "Environnement Numérique de Travail" (ENT) with an intention of maintaining coherence between the multiple projects. This article has three main objectives: first evaluate the way education is transformed by the integration of an ENT, then study the way the roles of the various actors evolve in that context and finally discuss the implications of these evolutions for the integration process. We decided to use a qualitative approach and more specifically a case study. The integration of an ENT in our university allowed us to answer the research questions. This study highlights the evolution of the teachers' roles in the context of the implementation of an ENT. New teachers' roles are identified: educational designer, facilitator, expert and technician. We finally study the impact of these roles' evolutions on the integration process and propose some hints to facilitate this integration

The Alignment Between Customer Relationship Management and IT Strategy: A Proposed Research Model

    Get PDF
This paper presents a research model about the alignment between CRM Strategy and technological deployment (or IT strategy) and its impact on the organizational performance. Three forms of CRM have been identified: Operational CRM (day-to-day customer operations), Analytical CRM (customer data analysis) and Strategic CRM (customer centric business strategy). The paper is built on three foundations. First, it is hypothesized that each form of CRM adopted by the firm positively affects the organizational performance. The second claims that there is a different type of technological deployment for each form of CRM. And the last presumes that for each form of CRM, the more adapted the technological deployment, the better the organizational performance

Gouvernance des systèmes d'information et éco-responsabilité. Résultats d'une expérimentation auprès d'un conseil régional.

National audienceFacing the challenges of sustainable development, public and private organizations should be involved in an eco-responsible approach. Considering these new requirements and the challenges posed by sustainable development, information and communication technologies and wider information systems have a contribution to make. This contribution asks directly the question of eco-responsibility of information systems and its evaluation within organizations. We present here an experiment designed to test a methodological tool to assess the 'sustainability' or eco-responsibility of information systems. This paper presents the results of the second phase of a wider research to assess the eco-responsible computing or Green IT by the development of a management tool, in an engeneering research. Conducted in a Regional Council, this empirical study shows that practices implemented in this field are little mature, reflecting an eco-responsible governance still embryonic. In addition, it reveals, to our field of study, tensions between the aims of public action and the resources allocated. Thus, the means determine ends (in terms of limits) but they also justify the purpose: indeed it is in the perspective to achieve an economic and ecological goal (eco-efficiency) or to reduce the means used to produce a service (eco-effectiveness) that are implementing Green IT initiatives.

Information Technologies and System Evaluation: Uses and Practices in the Online Context

    Get PDF
The purpose of this paper is to have a clear understanding of user’s management strategies’ in an online information technologies environment. The contribution focuses on a recent exploratory study carried out with notarial e-tourism platforms for a better understanding of design evaluation and uses. The conceptual framework links various dimensions with a strategic perspective in the information science and technologies domains: online information design evaluation. We develop a conceptual model emerging from the review of existing literature. We identify that homepage construction, users’ satisfaction, Web 2.0 technologies and social media initiatives are key factors affecting positively the website design effectiveness. We stress that even though the different dimensions can be considered separately, as they have an interdependent and a positive correlation with platform performance. Research finding are used as a basis for developing prescriptive guidelines to better direct the activities for designing and developing e-commerce online platforms. &nbsp

Study of Mortars Made with Natural and Artificial Pozzolans

    Get PDF
The objective of this work is to evaluate the thermal activation potential of clay soils, particularly the clay fraction of dam mud, for the production of artificial pozzolan which can be substituted to cement in concrete and mortars applications and also to make a comparative study with the natural pozzolan available in the area of Beni Saf in considerable quantities. The research study is carried out on three mortars 10, 20 and 30% of natural pozzolan of Beni Saf and artificial pozzolan from the mud calcined at 850 ° C / 3 hours of the dredged sediments of the dams of Fergoug and Ouizert, and on a control mortar without additions for the need of comparison. Several physical, mechanical, microstructural and sustainable tests have been carried out to carry out this research study: maneuverability in the fresh state, impeded shrinkage, mechanical performance, absorption, acid attack (5% CH3COOH, 5% HNO3 and 5% H2SO4), mass loss and pH reading follow-up in the hardened state. Compressive strengths indicate that pozzolan-based mortars have the best results in particular over the long term, whereas the results of acid attack tests show that the calcined mud has a significantly greater influence than natural pozzolan

This work examined the reproductive phenology of the Sardinian warbler (Sylvia melanocephala melanocephala) in North-eastern Algeria, which is its main geographical nesting area. Twenty-eight (28) nests were studied during two successive seasons (2016 and 2017). The results obtained in this study confirm that the nests were constructed at an average height of (01.97±01.04 m) from the ground. The laying period lasted eight (08) weeks (mid-March to the beginning of the second week of May), so fifty-four (54) days. The mean clutch size is (4.14±0.97) eggs per brood. The recorder traits were previously observed in European populations. The average of hatching success was (47.38 %) and mean reproductive success (45.24 %) were relatively low compared to European populations

Low prevalence of blood parasites in a long-distance migratory raptor: the importance of the host habitat

Background The low prevalence of blood parasites in some bird species may be related to the habitats they frequent, the inexistence of the right host-parasite assemblage or the immunological capacity of the host. Here, we assess the parasite load of breeding populations of Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae), a medium-sized long-distance migratory raptor that breeds on small isolated islets throughout the Mediterranean basin and overwinters in inland Madagascar. Methods We examined the prevalence and genetic diversity of the blood parasites belonging to the genera Plasmodium, Haemoproteus and Leucocytozoon in Eleonora's falcon nestlings from five colonies and in adults from two colonies from nesting sites distributed throughout most of the species' breeding range. Results None of the 282 nestlings analysed were infected by blood parasites; on the other hand, the lineages of Plasmodium, Haemoproteus and Leucocytozoon were all found to infect adults. Our results support the idea of no local transmission of vector-borne parasites in marine habitats. Adult Eleonora's falcons thus may be infected by parasites when on migration or in their wintering areas. Conclusion The characteristics of marine environments with a lack of appropriate vectors may thus be the key factor determining the absence of local transmission of blood parasites. By comparing the parasite lineages isolated in this species with those previously found in other birds we were able to infer the most likely areas for the transmission of the various parasite lineages
