    Kegiatan Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL) merupakan kegiatan yang sifatnya wajib dilaksanakan bagi setiap mahasisawa yang menempuh program studi kependidikan. Kegiatan Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL) ini diharapkan dapat membentuk pengalaman awal proses pembelajaran akademis maupun non-akademis yang nyata di lapangan bagi mahasiswa calon guru. Pengalaman tersebut dapat berupa pengalaman mengajar, pengalaman berinteraksi dengan peserta didik baik dalam kapasitas pembelajaran maupun dalam kapasitas pembentukan karakter, memperluas wawasan, melatih dan mengembangkan kompetensi terutama kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian, meningkatkan keterampilan, kemandirian, tanggung jawab, dedikasi dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah nyata di lapangan. Salah satu lokasi yang digunakan untuk PPL adalah TK ABA Keringan, Wonokerto, Turi, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Pelaksanaan program PPL dilakukan oleh mahasiswa yang bekerjasama dengan guru, karyawan, siswa dan masyarakat sekitar atau wali murid TK ABA Keringan, Wonokerto, Turi, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Penerjunan 10 Februari 2014 dan penarikan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 12 September 2014. Kegiatan PPL ini dilaksanakan melalui praktik mengajar terbimbing yang dilaksanakan mahasiswa sebanyak tiga kali pertemuan, praktik mandiri yang dilaksanakan sebanyak empat kali pertemuan dan satu kali pertemuan untuk pelaksanaan kegiatan ujian praktik mengajar. Dalam pelaksanaannya setiap mahasiswa membuat perangkat pembelajaran dan media pembelajaran yang berupa Rencana Kegiatan Harian (RKH), Penilaian Perkembangan Anak, Analisa Perbaikan dan Pengayaan serta melengkapi portofolio anak. Mahasiswa membuat media pendidikan dengan mempertimbangan beberapa aspek serta bernilai kreatif, efektif, efisien dan menarik bagi anak. Hasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan menyangkut dua hal penting, yaitu praktik pembelajaran di kelas serta pembuatan perangkat pembelajaran dan media pembelajaran. Pengalaman-pengalaman yang sudah mahasiswa peroleh diharapkan dapat menjadi bekal ilmu baru yang nantinya dapat diterapkan kelak

    MORPHOLOGICAL VARIATION OF EARLY DAYS TO FLOWERING ON LOCAL RICE ACCESSIONS COLLECTED FROM PONOROGO

    Local rice germplasm may play an important role in improving rice quality. One of the important to improve rice cultivar trait is days to flowering. Ponorogo is one of district of center rice production area where the farmers cultivate local rice varieties which is early days to flowering or short vegetative phase. Exploration of local early days to flowering rice accessions in Ponorogo resulted in 9 accessions. Flowering times ranged 51 to 91 days after sowing. Based on morphological variation, there were variation of plant height, number of leaves, number of tiller, number of panicle, number of grains per panicle, flowering time, grain size and weight of 100 grains. Morphological dendrogram made possible to identify three groups at similarity 0.88.

    Effects of the Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach on the Learning Achievement in Indonesian Language Reading Comprehension of Year IV Students of Elementary Schools. This study aims to investigate effects of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach on learning achievement in Indonesian language reading comprehension of groups of students based on their learning motivation. This study was an experimental study employing a 2x2 factorial design. The independent variable had two levels, i.e. the CTL approach and the conventional approach. The population comprised all 61 Year IV students of SDN Sidoarum and SDN Krapyak. The instruments consisted of an achievement test and a learning motivation questionnaire. The data were analyzed by means of a twoway ANOVA and the Scheffe test. The results show that (1) there is a difference in learning achievement between the students in the experimental group and those in the control group, (2) there is a difference in learning achievement between students with high motivation in the experimental group and those in the control group, (3) there is a difference in learning achievement between students with low motivation in the experimental group and those in the control group, (4) the CTL approach is more effective than the conventional approach, and (5) there is no interaction between approaches and learning motivation.     Effects of ameliorant application on the growth and yield of rice plants (Oryza sativa L.)

    An ameliorant is a chemical that can be used to improve soil fertility. The improving agents include dolomite and steel slag. Steel slag is a by-product of the steel industry containing CaCO3, SiO2, CaSiO3, and MgO, which can be used to improve the growth and yield of rice plants. Dolomite, on the other hand, is a limestone rock containing MgO and CaO, which is useful in agricultural soils. This study aimed to determine the types and doses of ameliorants affecting the growth and yield of rice plants (Oryza sativa L.). The research was carried out at Sukadana Village, Ciomas Serang-Banten District. A non-factorial Group Randomized Design with seven treatments was employed in this investigation. The treatments include P0 = No treatment (control), P1 = 2 t/ha of dolomite, P2 = 2 t/ha of dolomite + 2.5 t/ha of steel slag, P3 = 1.5 t/ha of steel slag, P4 = 2.5 t/ha of steel slag, P5 = 5 t/ha of steel slag, and P6 = 7.5 t/ha of steel slag. Observation was made on steel slag characterization, plant height, the total number of tillers, the weight of 1000 grains, the amount of grain per clump, and the weight of dry-milled grain. The results showed that applying dolomite at 2 t/ha and steel slag at 2.5 t/ha could increase the weight of 1000 grains of rice, and applying steel slag at 1.5 t/ha could enhance the amount of grain per clump

    Reading is one of the important aspects in learning. Another important aspect in learning is learning media. The use of learning media in the teaching and learning process may generate desires, interests, motivation, and stimulate learning activities for students. However, most teachers today teach in a conventional learning with no use of learning media.Employing experiment method, this study is conducted to determine whether there is a difference in the academic achievement between students taught using the story books media compared to students taught without using the story books media. The subject of the study is the 4th grade students of MI Al-Istiqomah Banjarmasin. The data is drawn from the score of pre-test which is done before the process of learning and the score of final test.The result of the study shows that there is a significant difference between the academic achievements of students who are taught using the story books media compared to the students taught with no use of any media in their reading comprehension subject. This is indicated by the mean score of the final testthe study result in the experimental class is better than that of the controlled class. Thus, it can be concluded that learning with using the media of story books can improve the students study result. In addition, the learning media can be an alternative for the teachers in the process of teaching and learning

    Synchronizing flowering and seed quality in an effort to increase sweet corn seed yields can be done by developing superior lines and proper fertilization. This research was aimed to know the response of flowering synchrony and seed quality of several lines of sweet corn (Zea mays subsp. mays L.) under boron fertilizer application. The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of PT. Benih Sumber Andalan (BSA) in Dramaga District, Bogor Regency - West Java, from October 2022 to February 2023. This research used a Split Plot Design with two factors. Sweet corn line as the main plot consisted of five levels, namely BSA1 line, BSA2 line, BSA3 line, BSA4 line, and BSA5 line. The dose of boron fertilizer as sub plots consisted of four levels, namely 0, 10, 15, and 20 kg ha-1. The results showed that the BSA1 sweet corn line had the best effect on the male flowering time parameter. The dose of boron fertilizer 15 kg ha-1 had the best effect on the parameters of male flowering time , female flowering time, ASI (Anthesis Silking Interval), cob weight without cobs, seed weight per cob, number of seeds per cob, and seed germination rate. Combination treatment of BSA1 sweet corn line with boron fertilizer dose of 15 kg ha-1 is able to increase the synchronization on male flower flowering time and female flowering time.ABSTRAKSinkronisasi pembungaan dan mutu benih dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil benih jagung manis dapat dilakukan dengan mengembangkan galur-galur yang unggul dan pemupukan yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons sinkronisasi pembungaan dan mutu benih beberapa galur jagung manis (Zea mays subsp. mays L.) terhadap aplikasi dosis pupuk boron. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan PT. Benih Sumber Andalan Kecamatan Dramaga, Kabupaten Bogor – Jawa Barat, pada bulan Oktober 2022 sampai Februari 2023. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi (Split Plot Design) dengan 2 faktor. Galur jagung manis sebagai petak utama terdiri dari 5 taraf yaitu Galur BSA1, Galur BSA2 Galur BSA3, Galur BSA4 dan Galur BSA5. Dosis pupuk boron sebagai anak petak terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu 0, 10, 15 dan 20 kg ha-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa galur jagung manis BSA1 memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap parameter umur berbunga bunga jantan. Dosis pupuk boron 15 kg ha-1 memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap parameter umur berbunga bunga jantan, umur berbunga bunga betina, ASI (Anthesis Silking Interval), bobot tongkol tanpa kelobot, bobot biji per tongkol, jumlah biji per tongkol, dan daya kecambah benih. Kombinasi perlakuan galur jagung manis BSA1 dengan dosis pupuk boron 15 kg ha-1 mampu meningkatkan sinkronisasi pembungaan pada umur berbunga bunga jantan dan umur berbunga bunga betina

    Respons Beberapa Varietas Bawang Merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.) Asal Biji Botani Pada Populasi Tanaman yang Berbeda

    This research aimed to determine the effect of several varieties on different populations on the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) from botanical seeds (True Shallot Seed). This research was an experimental research conducted from August to October 2021 in the integrated farming system area, Serang, Banten. This research was laid out in a factorial randomized block design (RCBD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was the differences in varieties consist of 3 levels, namely Maserati (v1), Sanren (v2), and Tuk-Tuk (v3). The second factor was the population which consists of 4 levels, namely the population of 1 plant (p0), 2 plants (p1), 3 plants (p2), and 4 plants (p3). The results showed that there was an interaction between the varieties and populations on the parameters of fresh weight of bulbs/plant, the combination of Maserati variety with 1 population (40.32g). The Sanren variety gave the best effect on the parameters of bulbs/plant (1.92 bulbs).  Keyword : Population, Shallot, Varietie
