    Get PDF
The marketing of broilers/chicken meat in the National Capital Region (NCR) Delhi has been compared in two distinct kinds of markets, viz. organized (shopping malls, organized multi-product retailers) and unorganized or primarily wet markets (exclusive chicken dressers, poultry meat retailers, etc.). Data have been collected from various functionaries involved in marketing of broilers/poultry meat in the NCR Delhi during the year 2008-09 through primary survey. The most prominent channel in the unorganized broiler market has been found as: Producer-Wholesaler- Dresser-cum-Retailers –Consumer, whereas the same in the organized market as Producer - Commission agent- Supplier-Distributor- Shopping Malls/ Hotels/ Retailer-Consumer. The marketing cost, marketing margins, price spread and producers’ share in consumers’ rupee, in the most efficient unorganized marketing channel have been found as Rs 10480, Rs 30220, Rs 40700 per tonne (live wt. basis) and 62 per cent, respectively, whereas the corresponding figures in the most efficient organized marketing channel were Rs 12750, Rs 76350, Rs 88500 per tonne and 43 per cent. The wholesale regulated poultry market at Ghazipur was the key supply centre for chicken in the NCR Delhi. The average daily arrival in the poultry market has been found over one lakh broilers accounting for about 50 per cent sales in Delhi. Over 70 per cent of the broilers at Ghazipur Poultry Market are manually dressed. The manual poultry processing has provided direct employment to nearly 5000 workers. The manual dressing of broilers has resulted in value addition of about 50 per cent on live weight basis and production of over 20 chicken meat products/ by-products. The study has also assessed the pros and cons of manual dressing of broilers vis-à-vis mechanical processing and has estimated the cost of processing in the two systems. It has been observed that manual dressing of broilers is not only cheaper but also provides employment and livelihood to a large number of illiterate and/ or semi-skilled workers. Hence, the study has suggested to improve and organize the manual dressing system so that the qualitative aspects and concerns about health and hygiene could also be addressed. Erratic power supply, long power cuts, lack of refrigerated transportation facility, poor monitoring of food safety and quality norms in manual processing, rampant corruption in transportation of live chickens, etc. have been identified as the major constraints in marketing of broilers/chicken meat in the NCR Delhi.Agricultural and Food Policy,

    Get PDF
International business encompasses all commercial and economic activities between the nations to promote the transfer the goods and services, ideas, resources and technologies across the national borders. Every country has limited resources therefore a country cannot produce all the goods and services that it requires. The present context of the world, there is imbalance in production and supply factors due to Covid-19, which has led to market imbalances in demand and supply. The world economy has been hit hard by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, as on June end more than ten 10 million people around the globe had been affected by disease, USA, India and others are worst hit countries with decrease in GDP and increase in unemployment. It may be useful to also note that prolonged lockdowns will eventually imply production shortfalls, may lead to increase in unemployment; decrease in demand for products, slowly running out stocks. In recent forecast of World Trade Organisation (WTO) indicated a clear fall in world trade between 13 per cent and 32 per cent in 2020, perhaps the highest fall since the Great Depression of 1930s. The purpose of the research paper is Economic and Business crisis, due to covid-19 in present situation in India and the world. India and world can overcome the challenges by specific government, by providing economic relief packages and increase in employment opportunities by digitalisation in all the sectors of the economy to increase in gross production, investment, job security to casual labours. These factors may change the world present situation to productive or welfare economy

Weaponizing Radioactive Medical Waste - The Looming Threat

    Get PDF
Across the globe, use of radioactive substances for medical treatment, by hospitals has resulted in generation of toxic wastes on a large scale. Disposal of these wastes are being entrusted to waste disposal vendors. Environmental concerns, pressures, restrictions and high labor costs, compel these vendors to dump these wastes in third world countries, where enforcement and awareness are substantially low. Unrestricted access to these waste dumps is an open invitation to terror organizations to extract toxic substances and fabricate crude dirty bombs to threaten public safety, and cause low-level contamination of sensitive installations. It is therefore imperative to create an international organization to monitor, regulate, and supervise the safe disposal of toxic radioactive wastes

India is one of the largest economy in the world, with population around 1.4 Billion, and average GDP (Gross Domestic product) from 2015- 2019 is around 7 percent, India is the third largest oil importer in the world, with 9.7 percent of the world oil imports, after China and USA, India imports around 80 percent of its oil needs and aims to bring down to 67 percent by 2022, by replacing it by local exploration, renewable energy and indigenous ethanol fuel, but in India there is lack of demand for crude oil and oil products due to Covid-19 epidemic, which made Indian government to imply restrictions, to lockdown of various firms, industries, public and private sector institutions, as health emergency, according to the report of IEA ( International Energy Agency) India’s 40 days lockdown has led to decrease in 30 percent fall in countriesdemandforenergy.Covid-19 is concern for Indian oil producers, as it is the biggest shock since the Second World War,The global economy is expected to enter recessionary Zone in 2020, as countries have shut down there normal business activities, to fight the pandemic led to imbalances in demand and supply of oil prices in the Indian market, Indian oil companies are waiting for the tax reductions and packagesbythegovernment, inthe short term imbalance in oil demand and supply situation. The purpose of the research paper is that, Indian government has a great task to fight against covid-19 as a health emergency and oil prices fluctuations in the year 2020

Learning cover context-free grammars from structural data

    Get PDF
We consider the problem of learning an unknown context-free grammar when the only knowledge available and of interest to the learner is about its structural descriptions with depth at most â„“.\ell. The goal is to learn a cover context-free grammar (CCFG) with respect to â„“\ell, that is, a CFG whose structural descriptions with depth at most â„“\ell agree with those of the unknown CFG. We propose an algorithm, called LAâ„“LA^\ell, that efficiently learns a CCFG using two types of queries: structural equivalence and structural membership. We show that LAâ„“LA^\ell runs in time polynomial in the number of states of a minimal deterministic finite cover tree automaton (DCTA) with respect to â„“\ell. This number is often much smaller than the number of states of a minimum deterministic finite tree automaton for the structural descriptions of the unknown grammar

Discounting in Games across Time Scales

    Get PDF
We introduce two-level discounted games played by two players on a perfect-information stochastic game graph. The upper level game is a discounted game and the lower level game is an undiscounted reachability game. Two-level games model hierarchical and sequential decision making under uncertainty across different time scales. We show the existence of pure memoryless optimal strategies for both players and an ordered field property for such games. We show that if there is only one player (Markov decision processes), then the values can be computed in polynomial time. It follows that whether the value of a player is equal to a given rational constant in two-level discounted games can be decided in NP intersected coNP. We also give an alternate strategy improvement algorithm to compute the value

    Get PDF
In this study, calcium phosphate-chitosan nanocomposite (CaP-CS NC) was prepared by a convenient and affordable co-precipitation method, and the prepared NC was tested for agriculture application.  Physico-chemicals analyses of the CaP-CS NC were conducted by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) instruments to determine the structural characteristics, surface topology, chemical composition, function group, and optical properties. The XRD pattern of CaP-CS NC revealed that the average crystallite size was 43 nm. The SEM images showed agglomeration of the CaP-CS NC with a rod-like shape. The EDS spectrum of the CaP-CS NC indicated the presence of Ca, P, O, and N elements. FTIR displayed vibrational peaks for the active functional group such as carboxylic (C=O), amines (N-H), hydroxyl (O-H), and alkyne (C-H). Furthermore, the spectrum of CaP-CS NC showed the bending mode of phosphates at 588.37 cm-1 and 508.45 cm-1. The UV-Vis-NIR spectrum of the prepared nanocomposite indicates the anti-reflection properties, which might be useful in solar cell applications to increase the efficiency of the solar cell. In addition, the prepared CaP-CS NC was tested for the plant growth stimulator properties at the lab scale level, wherein it exhibited substantial growth. Accordingly, the current study suggests that the prepared CaP-CS NC could be used as a plant growth promoter

Resilient Edge: Building an adaptive and resilient multi-communication network for IoT Edge using LPWAN and WiFi

    Get PDF
Edge computing has gained attention in recent years due to the adoption of many Internet of Things (IoT) applications in domestic, industrial and wild settings. The resiliency and reliability requirements of these applications vary from noncritical (best delivery efforts) to safety-critical with time-bounded guarantees. The network connectivity of IoT edge devices remains the central critical component that needs to meet the timebounded Quality of Service (QoS) and fault-tolerance guarantees of the applications. Therefore, in this work, we systematically investigate how to meet IoT applications mixed-criticality QoS requirements in multi-communication networks. We (i) present the network resiliency requirements of IoT applications by defining a system model (ii) analyse and evaluate the bandwidth, latency, throughput, maximum packet size of many state-of-theart LPWAN technologies, such as Sigfox, LoRa, and LTE (CATM1/ NB-IoT) and Wi-Fi, (iii) implement and evaluate an adaptive system Resilient Edge and Criticality-Aware Best Fit (CABF) resource allocation algorithm to meet the application resiliency requirements using Raspberry Pi 4 and Pycom FiPy development board having five multi-communication networks. We present our findings on how to achieve 100% of the best-effort high criticality level message delivery using multi-communication networks

Nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate in the D+iD superconducting state: implications for CoO superconductor

We calculated the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T11/T_1 for the D+iD superconducting state with impurities. We found that small amount of unitary impurities quickly produces the residual density of states inside the gap. As a result, the T-linear behavior in 1/T1_1 is observed at low temperatures. Our results show that the D+iD pairing symmetry of the superconducting state of Na0.35_{0.35}CoO2â‹…y_{2} \cdot yH2_2 O is compatible with recent 59^{59}Co 1/T1_1 experiments of several groups.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, minor change

Epidemiological Study of Thoracolumbar Pott’s Spine at a Tertiary Care Hospital in North India

    Get PDF
The vertebral column is involved in less than 1% of all the cases of tuberculosis. It can associated with major neurological deficits due to compression of adjacent neural structures with significant deformity of spinal column. Therefore, early diagnosis and management of spinal TB has special importance in preventing these serious complications. In order to extract current trends in diagnosis and medical or surgical treatment of spinal TB we performed a review with patients admitted to our hospital between 2016 and 2017. Although the development of more accurate imaging modalities such as magnetic resonance imaging and advanced surgical techniques have made the early diagnosis and management of spinal TB much easier, these are still very challenging topics. In this review we aim to discuss the diagnosis and management of spinal TB based on studies with acceptable design, clearly explained results and justifiable conclusions
