Investigation of the Properties of Immobilized Horseradish Peroxidase on Magnetic Particles
Magnetic particles coated with copolymer of acrylamide and acrylonitrile have been prepared. Those particles were used as a matrix for a covalent binding of peroxidase. The periodic-oxidized enzyme was bound to the matrix by immobilization procedure at 4°C for 18 hours. The immobilized enzyme showed relative activity of 86%. The following results were obtained for pH and optimum temperature of the immobilized enzyme - 7.0 and 30°C, respectively. The analysis of the kinetic parameters of the immobilized enzyme showed values of Vmax - 0.0517 M.10-6/sec and Km - 2.3x10-4 M
RNase T1 mimicking artificial ribonuclease
Recently, artificial ribonucleases (aRNases)—conjugates of oligodeoxyribonucleotides and peptide (LR)4-G-amide—were designed and assessed in terms of the activity and specificity of RNA cleavage. The conjugates were shown to cleave RNA at Pyr-A and G–X sequences. Variations of oligonucleotide length and sequence, peptide and linker structure led to the development of conjugates exhibiting G–X cleavage specificity only. The most efficient catalyst is built of nonadeoxyribonucleotide of unique sequence and peptide (LR)4-G-NH2 connected by the linker of three abasic deoxyribonucleotides (conjugate pep-9). Investigation of the cleavage specificity of conjugate pep-9 showed that the compound is the first single-stranded guanine-specific aRNase, which mimics RNase T1. Rate enhancement of RNA cleavage at G–X linkages catalysed by pep-9 is 108 compared to non-catalysed reaction, pep-9 cleaves these linkages only 105-fold less efficiently than RNase T1 (kcat_RNase T1/kcat_pep-9 = 105)
The minimal compound-complex sentence hierarchy
This article deals with the problem of the study of the subsystem of such type of the Multiple Compound-Complex Sentence as a minimal compound-complex sentence. The authors analyze the formal structure of the multiple compoundcomplex sentences and try to build up the structural models hierarchy of Minimal Compound-Complex SentenceyesBelgorod State Universit
The Short-Term Opening of Cyclosporin A-Independent Palmitate/Sr2+-Induced Pore Can Underlie Ion Efflux in the Oscillatory Mode of Functioning of Rat Liver Mitochondria
Mitochondria are capable of synchronized oscillations in many variables, but the underlying mechanisms are still unclear. In this study, we demonstrated that rat liver mitochondria, when exposed to a pulse of Sr2+ ions in the presence of valinomycin (a potassium ionophore) and cyclosporin A (a specific inhibitor of the permeability transition pore complex) under hypotonia, showed prolonged oscillations in K+ and Sr2+ fluxes, membrane potential, pH, matrix volume, rates of oxygen consumption and H2O2 formation. The dynamic changes in the rate of H2O2 production were in a reciprocal relationship with the respiration rate and in a direct relationship with the mitochondrial membrane potential and other indicators studied. The pre-incubation of mitochondria with Ca2+(Sr2+)-dependent phospholipase A2 inhibitors considerably suppressed the accumulation of free fatty acids, including palmitic and stearic acids, and all spontaneous Sr2+-induced cyclic changes. These data suggest that the mechanism of ion efflux from mitochondria is related to the opening of short-living pores, which can be caused by the formation of complexes between Sr2+(Ca2+) and endogenous long-chain saturated fatty acids (mainly, palmitic acid) that accumulate due to the activation of phospholipase A2 by the ions. A possible role for transient palmitate/Ca2+(Sr2+)-induced pores in the maintenance of ion homeostasis and the prevention of calcium overload in mitochondria under pathophysiological conditions is discussed
Allelic polymorphism of atoxigenic Vibrio Cholerae strains of housekeeping genes isolated in Siberia and Far East
There were atoxigenic Vibrio cholerae strains housekeeping genes analyzed. There were studied 20 isolates, in which nine sequence types have determined and five of which have described as unique. There were clustersformed as belonging to serogroup: first cluster includes RO-variantstrains and one O139 serogroup strain of V. cholerae, second - all O1 serogroup V. cholerae strains. There are sequence types associated with place and time isolation strains in some cases, although differentiation of the strains, which are formed the dominant sequence type strains group have no spatial and temporal characteristics associated
Features of Reaction of 2-(5-Methyl-2-phenyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl)-4H-benzo[e]-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorin-4-one with 1,2-Dicarbonyl Compounds
© 2018, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. 2-(5-Methyl-2-phenyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl)-4H-benzo[e]-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorin-4-one reacts with perfluorodiacetyl, 3,6-di(tert-butyl)-1,2-benzoquinone and phenanthrenequinone only with the participation of a three-coordinated phosphorus atom to form spirophosphoranes containing acyclic 5-methyl-2- phenyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl substituent, whereas the interaction with tetrachloro-1,2-benzoquinone proceeds via expanding the six-membered heterocycle to the nine-membered one to form 2-(2-phenyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl)-2,9-dioxo-4,5,6,7-tetrachlorodibenzo[d,h]-1,3,8-trioxaphosphonine
The economic efficiency of european football clubs - Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach
The relevance of this paper lies in the fact that football business has grown significantly in the past 20 years and football clubs have become large companies, which in an effort to be profitable and successful on the field need to improve the efficiency of their business. The aim of this article is to measure economic efficiency of 48 big European football clubs and assess the relationship between efficiency and different financial and sportive indicators (variables). To measure efficiency, we used both widely used Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method and its extensions: DEA Super-efficiency and DEA Cross-efficiency models. The results showed that these methods can successively be applied to football clubs’ efficiency measurement and the analysis of the them can help to explain why some clubs are efficient or inefficient and which factors affects the efficiency. This paper will be interesting football clubs’ managers, football analytics, economists and other people interested in football business because we combine in it the most interesting ideas and methods about football clubs’ efficiency measurement. © 2016 Pyatunin et al
