High precision cryogenic thermal conductivity standards

    Get PDF
New apparatus allows accurate simultaneous measurement of thermal conductivity, electrical resistivity, and thermopower for technically important materials, such as new or uncommon alloys. A list of materials investigated is presented. Sources for obtaining data on these materials, as well as the source giving a description of the apparatus, are cited

    Christology of 1st Thessalonians

    Get PDF
St. Paul wrote 1st Thessalonians around the year 51 C.E. As an early letter of Paul, this document gives us some indication as to Paul\u27s belief about the person and nature of Jesus Christ, i.e. his Christology. This paper explores ten Christological themes found in 1st Thessalonians, including, One who proclaims the Word of the Lord, Suffering Servant, Comforter/Consoler, Light and Darkness, Voice to the Gentiles, Wearer of Divine Attributes, True Provider of Peace and Security, \u27Jesus: Lord, Son of God, Son from heaven,\u27 Divine Reconciliation and Restoration, and Sharer in Divine Purpose and Activity with God the Father. These ten themes are seen throughout Paul\u27s corpus and is a good starting point for understanding early Christian views of Christology through the lens of this Apostle to the Gentiles

Stressors and Supports for Baccalaureate Nursing Students Completing An Accelerated Program

    Get PDF
This study examined stressors and resources for nursing students in an accelerated program. The research questions asked what the stressors and coping strategies are for accelerated option students. It also asked which learning strategies help or hinder accelerated option students in meeting the program objectives. The sample included students from an accelerated nursing program in an urban Midwestern university school of nursing. Participants completed a quantitative questionnaire and an interview. Findings suggested that nearly half of the students preferred the lecture format for classroom presentations. Clinical experiences were perceived as the most important component of the program. Resources included peers, family, and faculty. In understanding the stressors experienced by accelerated option students and the preferred learning strategies, the institution of nursing education may assist faculty to facilitate learning. This study forms the foundation for a second study exploring the differences in perceptions of accelerated students and the nursing faculty

    Hydrogen slush density reference system

    Get PDF
A hydrogen slush density reference system was designed for calibration of field-type instruments and/or transfer standards. The device is based on the buoyancy principle of Archimedes. The solids are weighed in a low-mass container so arranged that solids and container are buoyed by triple-point liquid hydrogen during the weighing process. Several types of hydrogen slush density transducers were developed and tested for possible use as transfer standards. The most successful transducers found were those which depend on change in dielectric constant, after which the Clausius-Mossotti function is used to relate dielectric constant and density

Systemic Thrombolytic Therapy Alone and in Combination with Mechanical Revascularization in Acute Ischemic Stroke in Two Children

    Get PDF
Thrombolytic therapy is not recommended for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in patients under the age of 18 and published experience is limited. In this case report, we describe two children treated with systemic thrombolytic therapy. One child received additional mechanical revascularization and achieved a good clinical outcome. The differences in the fibrinolytic system and the different etiology of AIS in childhood may limit a simple extrapolation of the adult guidelines for systemic thrombolytic therapy. Acute multimodal imaging to clarify the etiology of AIS might help to select the most appropriate treatment modality
