Insomnio, ansiedad y depresiĂłn en el paciente oncolĂłgico
The presence of psychiatric disorders in the cancer patient has been well documented. In spite of their frequency, the identification of these disorders remains insufficient. There are various reasons for this, such as: a) the mingling of somatic and psychological symptomatology; b) believing that the presence of anxiety, depression, or insomnia is normal among patients with cancer; c) the lack of training of medical personnel in the detection of psychiatric disorders; or d) viewing these disorders as secondary to the illness itself and to the oncological ¡ treatments. This research paper deals with insomnia, anxiety, and depression among cancer patients, as being the disorders with the highest incidence among them and with the greatest impact on their well-being. Generation of helical magnetic fields from inflation
The generation of helical magnetic fields during single field inflation due
to an axial coupling of the electromagnetic field to the inflaton is discussed.
We find that such a coupling always leads to a blue spectrum of magnetic fields
during slow roll inflation. Though the helical magnetic fields further evolve
during the inverse cascade in the radiation era after inflation, we conclude
that the magnetic fields generated by such an axial coupling can not lead to

A data driven approach to mapping urban neighbourhoods
Neighbourhoods have been described by the UK Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government as the “building blocks of public service society”. Despite this, difficulties in data collection combined with the concept’s subjective nature have left most countries lacking official neighbourhood definitions. This issue has implications not only for policy, but for the field of computational social science as a whole (with many studies being forced to use administrative units as proxies despite the fact that these bear little connection to resident perceptions of social boundaries). In this paper we illustrate that the mass linguistic datasets now available on the internet need only be combined with relatively simple linguistic computational models to produce definitions that are not only probabilistic and dynamic, but do not require a priori knowledge of neighbourhood names
Einfluss des Alters und Geschlechts auf die hormonelle Stressreaktion
Zusammenfassung: Akuter und chronischer Stress: Akuter Stress ist generell nicht schädlich, sondern häufig eine sinnvolle Reaktion. Bei chronischem Stress kommt es zu einer Daueraktivierung des sympathischen Anteils des vegetativen Nervensystems und der Hypothalamus-Hypophysen-Nebennieren-Achse, was langfristig mit gesundheitlichen Risiken einhergeht. Einfluss von Alter und Geschlecht: Die sympathische Grundaktivität sowie die Basalwerte von Kortisol nehmen mit dem Alter zu. Im Alter verändert sich die sympathische Reaktion auf einen akuten Stressor nicht. Prämenopausal haben Frauen eine schwächere Stresshormonausschüttung auf akuten Stress als gleichaltrige Männer, postmenopausal ist kein geschlechtsspezifischer Unterschied mehr vorhanden. Östrogene scheinen also protektiv zu sein. Die Kortisolausschüttung steigt bei akutem Stress im Alter um 42 % an. Bei Frauen ist der Anstieg stärker als bei Männern. Haaranalyse auf Kortisol: Mit der Haaranalyse besteht die Möglichkeit, über einen längeren Zeitraum die Kortisolausschüttung nachzuweisen, was mit etablierten Verfahren wie der Plasma- oder Speichelkortisolmessung und der Urinanalyse nicht möglich ist. Bevor die Haarkortisolanalyse im klinischen Alltag zum Einsatz kommen kann, bedarf es jedoch einer alters- und geschlechtsspezifischen Validierung der Methode
