Digitalisierung – Status quo und Strategien im Geschäftsbereich des Ministeriums für Justiz, Kultur und Europa in Schleswig-Holstein

Die Beiträge im zweiten Band der Schriftenreihe Kulturelles Erbe in der digitalen Welt der Deutschen Digitalen Bibliothek zeigen auf, wie in Deutschland mit seiner föderalen Ordnung die Vermittlung und letztlich Vernetzung des kulturellen Erbes über das Internet angegangen wird. In ihnen finden sich Informationen zum organisatorischen Aufbau und der Infrastruktur der Digitalisierung und zu Kooperationen und politischen Rahmenbedingungen. Die Beiträge setzen die politische Agenda ins Verhältnis zum tatsächlich Erreichten, beschreiben den Stand der Umsetzung, geben Auskunft über Digitalisierungsstellen, Projekte und deren Koordination, beschreiben die institutionellen Zuständigkeiten, erläutern Portale und die Zusammenarbeit mit der Deutschen Digitalen Bibliothek, enthalten Ausführungen zur Langzeitarchivierung: Und am Ende wird jeweils auch ein Ausblick gewagt. Beispiele für Konzepte außerhalb Deutschlands runden das Bild ab. Waren es im ersten Band Der Vergangenheit eine Zukunft Fragen nach öffentlicher Verantwortung, gesellschaftlichen Aufgaben und privatem Engagement, stehen nun die Strategien der Bundesländer für das kulturelle Erbe in der digitalen Welt im Vordergrund. Lessons learned: Transformation in der Transformation

Die Landesbibliothek Schleswig-Holstein wird derzeit zu einem Zentrum für Digitalisierung und Kultur umgebaut. Die Massnahmen während der Coronakrise stärken einerseits diese Entwicklung, andererseits zeigen sie deutlich die fundamentale Bedeutung der Bibliotheken für die Gesellschaft und für die Bürgerinnen und Bürger, die dort Orte der Begegnung (Dritte Orte) finden, wo sie Themen diskutieren und ihr Wissen erweitern können. Der Artikel zieht ein erstes Fazit. The State Library of Schleswig-Holstein is currently being developed into a centre for digitisation and culture. On the one hand, the measures taken during the Corona crisis are strengthening this development, on the other hand they clearly show the fundamental importance of libraries for society and the importance of citizens finding meeting places (third places) to discuss topics and expand knowledge. Universal and wide shear zones in granular bulk flow

We present experiments on slow granular flows in a modified (split-bottomed) Couette geometry in which wide and tunable shear zones are created away from the sidewalls. For increasing layer heights, the zones grow wider (apparently without bound) and evolve towards the inner cylinder according to a simple, particle-independent scaling law. After rescaling, the velocity profiles across the zones fall onto a universal master curve given by an error function. We study the shear zones also inside the material as function of both their local height and the total layer height.Comment: Minor corrections, accepted for PRL (4 pages, 6 figures
