    PT Petrokimia Gresik merupakan pabrik pupuk terlengkap di Indonesia. Dalam setiap proses produksi dilakukan berbagai macam cara agar dapat mempertahankan proses produksi dan kualitas produk serta menjaga perawatan pabrik. Selain control langsung oleh operator produksi di area pabrik, dilakukan juga analisa laboratorium untuk menjaga kondisi proses produksi serta keualitas produk. Terdapat 7 laboratorium di area produksi PT Petrokimia Gresik diantaranya adalah laboratorium pabrik IIIA yang memiliki tingkat kecelakaan paling tinggi dan persentase diatas batas minimal yang telah ditentukan. Laboratorium IIIA memiliki laboratorium local yang digunakan untuk menganalisa gas SO2, laboratorium tersebut terdapat 32 bahaya yang terjadi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assesment and Risk Control). Department Of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (2008) sebagai panduan dalam menentukan nilai risiko serta berdasarkan OHSAS 18001. Hasil penelitian tersebut dilakukan pengendalian risiko terhadap bahaya yang memiliki level moderate risk dan high risk, yaitu pada bahaya bocoran line gas, tergores valve, tersandung cor, terbentur tiang, terapapar suara bising, terlempar penutup botol pereaksi, suhu ruangan panas, terpeleset, tersandung pipa asam sulfat, tergores pintu, tercium bau belerang, terpapar suara bising, konsleting listrik, buangan vacuum, tergelincir, larutan menempel, terkena kerak gas

    Population Status of a Cryptic Top Predator: An Island-Wide Assessment of Tigers in Sumatran Rainforests

    Large carnivores living in tropical rainforests are under immense pressure from the rapid conversion of their habitat. In response, millions of dollars are spent on conserving these species. However, the cost-effectiveness of such investments is poorly understood and this is largely because the requisite population estimates are difficult to achieve at appropriate spatial scales for these secretive species. Here, we apply a robust detection/non-detection sampling technique to produce the first reliable population metric (occupancy) for a critically endangered large carnivore; the Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae). From 2007–2009, seven landscapes were surveyed through 13,511 km of transects in 394 grid cells (17×17 km). Tiger sign was detected in 206 cells, producing a naive estimate of 0.52. However, after controlling for an unequal detection probability (where p = 0.13±0.017; ±S.E.), the estimated tiger occupancy was 0.72±0.048. Whilst the Sumatra-wide survey results gives cause for optimism, a significant negative correlation between occupancy and recent deforestation was found. For example, the Northern Riau landscape had an average deforestation rate of 9.8%/yr and by far the lowest occupancy (0.33±0.055). Our results highlight the key tiger areas in need of protection and have led to one area (Leuser-Ulu Masen) being upgraded as a ‘global priority’ for wild tiger conservation. However, Sumatra has one of the highest global deforestation rates and the two largest tiger landscapes identified in this study will become highly fragmented if their respective proposed roads networks are approved. Thus, it is vital that the Indonesian government tackles these threats, e.g. through improved land-use planning, if it is to succeed in meeting its ambitious National Tiger Recovery Plan targets of doubling the number of Sumatran tigers by 2022

    PTPetrokimia Gresik is the most complete fertilizer factory in Indonesia. In each production process, various methods are carried out to maintain the production process and product quality as well as maintain factory maintenance. In addition to direct control by production operators in the factory area, laboratory analysis is also carried out to maintain the condition of the production process and product quality. There are seven laboratories in the production area of PT Petrokimia Gresik, including factory laboratory IIIA which has the highest accident rate and the percentage is above the minimum limit that has been determined. Laboratory IIIA has a local laboratory that is used to analyze SO2 gas, in that laboratory, there is 32 hazardthat occurs. This study used the HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) method. Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (2008) as a guide in determining the risk value and based on OHSAS 18001. The result of this study carried out risk control for the hazard that has moderate risk and high-risk levels, namely thedanger of gas line leaks, valvescratches, tripping cast, hit in pole, exposure to noise, thrown reagent bottle cover, hot room temperature, slipped, tripped on sulfuric acid pipe, scratch a door, smelled sulfur, exposed to noise, electric short circuit, vacuum discharge, slipping, solution sticking, exposed to gas scale

    Desa Karang Dima terletak di Kecamatan Labuhan Badas, Kabupaten Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara Barat yang memiliki potensi pariwisata bidang bahari yang sangat besar. Namun, potensi pariwisata di wilayah ini menjadi berkurang karena maraknya pencemaran lingkungan yang terjadi dan menyebabkan dampak lingkungan yang cukup parah dan berpengaruh pada berbagai sektor. Masalah lingkungan yang menjadi fokus utama di Desa Karang Dima yaitu limbah koral mati akibat kegiatan manusia dan perubahan iklim. Hingga saat ini belum ada usaha yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah limbah pesisir di wilayah Karang Dima, sehingga inovasi pengelolaan limbah pesisir terpadu dan berkelanjutan sangat diperlukan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan di Desa Karang Dima yang terletak di koordinat: 8°29’49.200”S, 117°22;19.200”E, pada periode 18 Oktober – 30 November 2021. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian yaitu Sosialisasi Program dan Pembentukan Kelompok Binaan, Kegiatan Beach Clean Up untuk pengumpulan bahan baku karang mati, Training of Trainer (ToT), Pelatihan kelompok binaan, dan Monitoring Evaluasi dan Inisiasi pembentukan bisnis sosial. Kegiatan ini mengikutsertakan 15 orang peserta mantan buruh migran perempuan dari perwakilan lima dusun di Desa Karang Dima. Dari kegiatan pelatihan ini, dihasilkan berbagai produk dari limbah pesisir yang memiliki nilai ekonomi. Berbagai produk bernilai tambah ini meliputi asbak hias, figura foto, gantungan kunci dan hiasan meja. Pembentukan bisnis sosial berbasis masyarakat kelompok mitra akan sangat membantu perekonomian dan mengembangkan potensi Desa Karang Dima dalam mengelola limbah pesisir
