    A Study of Financial Behaviour Among Professional Women in Northern India

    Financial literacy influences everyday financial decision among people in macro aspect. It is the ability to make rational decisions and to make effective decisions on management of money. The interactions among peer groups also can influences financial behaviour. It is to be believed that right amount of saving through rational financial decisions will boost economic growth and thus further strengthening the economy. The financial literacy covers various dimensions like financial attitude, financial knowledge, social influence, and financial behaviour. In Present study, authors have studied the influence of financial attitude, financial knowledge, and social influence on financial behaviour among professional women of different cities of India. The sample size of 200 working professional from various public and private organizations has been incorporated for the research. A structured questionnaire designed on a 5-point Likert scale has been used and the homogeneity of items and the acceptance of reliability is confirmed by KMO and bartlett’s test. For, further analysis, EFA has been used for determine factor loading of the variables. The relationship between the independent variables and dependent variables are determined by the correlation analysis. The findings revealed that social influence have good association whereas financial knowledge and financial attitude having positive with weak correlation of with financial behaviour among women working professional

    Investigating the seasonal variability in source contribution to PM(2.5)and PM(10)using different receptor models during 2013-2016 in Delhi, India

    The present work deals with the seasonal variations in the contribution of sources to PM(2.5)and PM(10)in Delhi, India. Samples of PM(2.5)and PM(10)were collected from January 2013 to December 2016 at an urban site of Delhi, India, and analyzed to evaluate their chemical components [organic carbon (OC), elemental carbon (EC), water-soluble inorganic components (WSICs), and major and trace elements]. The average concentrations of PM(2.5)and PM(10)were 131 +/- 79 mu g m(-3)and 238 +/- 106 mu g m(-3), respectively during the entire sampling period. The analyzed and seasonally segregated data sets of both PM(2.5)and PM(10)were used as input in the three different receptor models, i.e., principal component analysis-absolute principal component score (PCA-APCS), UNMIX, and positive matrix factorization (PMF), to achieve conjointly corroborated results. The present study deals with the implementation and comparison of results of three different multivariate receptor models (PCA-APCS, UNMIX, and PMF) on the same data sets that allowed a better understanding of the probable sources of PM(2.5)and PM(10)as well as the comportment of these sources with respect to different seasons. PCA-APCS, UNMIX, and PMF extracted similar sources but in different contributions to PM(2.5)and PM10. All the three models extracted 7 similar sources while mutually confirmed the 4 major sources over Delhi, i.e., secondary aerosols, vehicular emissions, biomass burning, and soil dust, although the contribution of these sources varies seasonally. PCA-APCS and UNMIX analysis identified a less number of sources (besides mixed type) as compared to the PMF, which may cause erroneous interpretation of seasonal implications on source contribution to the PM mass concentration

    Bilobed gallbladder: a rare congenital anomaly of the biliary system

    Duplication of the gallbladder is a rare congenital anomaly, which Boyden first illustrated in 1926. No additional risk of cholelithiasis or malignancy with this congenital anomaly was documented. However, this congenital anomaly is associated with more risk for complications during and after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. So, preoperative diagnosis is essential in identifying anatomical abnormalities to avoid biliary injuries at the time of surgery or the performance of an incomplete operation. The removal of an asymptomatic double gallbladder remains controversial. Here, we are reporting a case of the incidentally detected duplex gallbladder in a teenager and review the literature that will enrich the reader’s knowledge regarding this rare congenital anomaly

    Clinical characteristics and associated factors of cerebral palsy in pediatric population: a tertiary care centre clinicoepidemiological study

    Background: Although, a highly prevalent disease, the etiology of cerebral palsy is still poorly understood thereby eluding a definitive prevention strategy. Our study aimed to evaluate the etiological, clinical and prognostic factors associated with cerebral palsy in children of western Rajasthan. Methods: All cases of non-progressive neurological disorder in the age group of 6 months to 14 years were enrolled in the present study. Detailed assessment, CNS examination and related neuroimaging were performed. Statistical analysis was done by standard statistical methods. Results: Maximum number of patients in current study were in the age group of 1-3 years. In our study according to sex, 40 (66.67%) were males and 20 (33.33) were females. Most of the patient in the present study were spastic quadriplegic type (40%) followed by spastic diplegia in 20% cases. As per gross motor function classification system (GMFCS) grading, maximum number of cases were 16 (26.67%) from grade 4. The most common sequelae in cerebral palsy were speech delay in 49 (81.66%) patients. Cortical atrophy was the most commonly (71.73%) seen abnormality on neuroimaging with CT-scan. Conclusions: Cerebral palsy is a non-progressive CNS disorder which has a major physical as well as psychological effects on the children as well as their families. The present study highlights the importance of understanding epidemiological and etiological aspects of the disease in Indian scenario

    Formulation, characterization and evaluation of morusin loaded niosomes for potentiation of anticancer therapy.

    Morusin, a water-insoluble prenylated flavonoid is known for its numerous medicinal properties. It manifests its anticancer potential by suppression of genes involved in tumor progression. However, poor solubility of the drug results in low bioavailability and rapid degradation thus hindering its clinical utilization. In order to overcome this, we have synthesized a niosome system composed of non-ionic surfactant span 60 and cholesterol using a thin-layer evaporation technique to improve the aqueous-phase solubility of the drug. Highly cytocompatible niosomes of 479 nm average size with smooth and uniform spherical morphology were synthesized in a facile manner. Unlike free morusin, nanomorusin was found to be freely dispersible in aqueous media. Having an extremely high drug entrapment efficiency (97%), controlled and sustained release of morusin resulting in enhanced therapeutic efficacy was observed in cancer cell lines of 4 different lineages. The results demonstrate that the morusin-niosome system is a promising strategy for enhanced anti-cancer activity against multiple cancer types and could be an indispensable tool for future targeted chemotherapeutic strategies

    Prevalence of hypertension and its association with anthropometric parameters in adult population of Raipur city, Chhattisgarh, India

    Background: Obesity is now an important emerging public health problem in India. It is one of the major risk factor for hypertension. Overweight persons have two to six fold increase in the risk of developing hypertension. This study was carried out with objective to find out prevalence of Hypertension and assess its association with four obesity-related indices- body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), and waist-to-height ratio (WHtR).Methods: A cross-sectional community-based study was done among 640 study subjects of age group 25-59 years during July 2015 to June 2016. Multi stage random sampling method was used. Data collection was done using WHO STEPS instrument V 3.1. Privacy and confidentiality of data was maintained. Data was entered in the Microsoft excel, collected data was checked for its completeness and correctness before data analysis with the help of PSPP software.Results: Prevalence of hypertension among study subjects was found to be 22.19% (142 out of 640).With respect to body mass index, waist circumference, waist hip ratio and waist height ratio, 4.38%, 64.35%, 85.33%, 76.2% were found to be obese respectively. Hypertension was strongly associated with BMI (p<0.001), waist circumference (p<0.001), waist hip ratio (p<0.05), waist height ratio (p<0.05). Out of the four anthropometric variables waist hip ratio (WHR) was most strongly associated with hypertension (β=420.236, p=0.007).Conclusions: The study shows a rising burden of hypertension among study population. As WHR is the best indicator for measuring obesity, so measurement of WHR should be made compulsory in healthy life style clinics along with other parameters

    Correlation and path analysis studies in onion (Allium cepa) genotypes

    The present study was carried out at the experimental farm of the Department of Vegetable Sciences, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh during the winter (rabi) season of 2019–20 and 2020–21 to study the genetic variability, correlation and path studies in 30 different genotypes of the onion (Allium cepa L.) crop. All genotypes reflected a wide and significant spectrum of variability for all the traits under study. Genotypes UHF-ONI-13, UHF-ONI-15 and UHF-ONI-16 outperformed other genotypes in terms of yield and other critical horticultural characteristics. The magnitude of phenotypic coefficient of variation was higher than the genotypic coefficient of variation for all the characters. The phenotypic and genotypic coefficients of variability were high for doubles/deformed bulbs, moderate for leaf length, plant height, average bulb weight, bulb yield per plot and per hectare. High heritability along with high to moderate genetic gain was observed for doubles/deformed bulbs, leaf length, plant height, average bulb weight, bulb yield per plot and bulb yield per hectare, which suggested that improvement can be achieved through simple selection. Bulb yield had significant and positive correlation with average bulb weight, equatorial diameter, plant height, polar diameter, days to harvest and days to 50% neck fall. Path analysis showed that bulb weight, equatorial diameter, bulb shape index, neck thickness, total soluble solids, plant height and leaf length had a positive direct effect on bulb yield

    IoT-Based Assistant for Alzheimer's Patient with Reminder System and Tracking Using GPS

    In many nations, there is serious worry over the rising incidence of Alzheimer's disease (AD). New approaches are therefore needed for preventing, identifying, and helping people with AD. Alzheimer patients are facing difficulties during day-to-day activities in terms of traveling and receiving accurate information from their surroundings. We have proposed a smart belt that overcomes most of the problems of Alzheimer’s patients. The belt genuinely aids in identifying the challenges encountered in daily life. The smart belt is embedded with Arduino UNO and a global positioning system (GPS) that helps in sensing emergency alerts. The proposed smart belt provides continuous information about the location of Alzheimer’s patients to the concerned caretaker at an interval of five minutes. The pulse heart rate sensor installed on the belt monitors the health of the user. This heart rate sensor is used to detect the heart rate, and when the heart rate increases a buzzer makes an alert sound and sends an immediate message to the caretaker about the increased heart rate and location. It also contains a speaker module that tells the phone number and address of the caretaker and also some important help line emergency numbers. Sensors are used for achieving these functions.
