    The methods of investigation which an expert linguist has been no real indication of the mode of its actions, and the inventory of possible means of expression values and aspects of their analysis are described. The article provides an overview of methods, experts in the conclusions in the text of the opinion. These types of analysis are divided into formal and proper semantic and discussed in terms of the correctness of description, verifiability and applicability of the linguistic expertise in determining the meaning of what was said. A definition of the general method of linguistic expertise semantic type, based on the provisions of the theory of the forensic expert methods.     The paper explores the key problems of establishing the type of negative information and differentiating between facts and opinions. This is one of the most challenging problems of forensic linguistics that requires a robust methodological framework to be tackled successfully. When faced with this problem, the expert has to deal with the ambiguity of terminology and wording of questions, as well as the complexity of the object of study – the semantics of statements encountered in acts of speech. The paper analyzes the content of key terms traditionally used to address this forensic problem, and offers a possible solution. The so-called β€œfactual square” is a method based on analyzing a statement against four semantic parameters: presence of statement of past action; verifiability of this statement on the basis of specificity of description of the action and its potential observability; lack of alternative, i.e. indication of a different possibility; the purpose of conveying negative information.     The thermodynamics of complex formation between Et4NI and I2 in CH2Cl2 and the redox processes in the bis(N,N-diethyldithiocarbamato)copper(II) [CuIIL2]/I2/CH2Cl2 system have been studied spectrophotometrically. The reversibility of the reactions of formation of copper(III) complexes was established and their thermodynamic parameters determined: CuIIL2 + 3/212← β†’ [CuIIIL2]I3 {logK = 5.80 (298K), Ξ”H = -35.0 kJΒ·mol-1, and Ξ”S = -6.7 JΒ·K-1Β·mo1-1} and [CuIIIL2]I3 + I2 ← β†’ [CuIIIL2]I5 {logK = 2.02 (298 K), Ξ”H = -11.1 kJΒ·mol-1, and Ξ”S = 1.3 JΒ·K-1Β·mol-1}. The rate constants and activation parameters for the electron self-exchange reactions between CuIIL2 and [CuIIIL2]In (n = 3, 5) in the CD2Cl2 solutions were determined by NMR line-broadening of the ligand L protons: ke = 3.0Β·108 M-1Β·s-1 (298 K), Ξ”Hβ‰  = 6.1 kJΒ·mol-1, and Ξ”Sβ‰ = -62.3 JΒ·K-1 mol-1. To account for the kinetic parameters, an unusual mechanism for the self-exchange reaction was suggested. This mechanism involves the prior formation of the CuIIL2InCuIIIL2 intermediate, in which considerable delocalization of electron density through the orbitals of copper and bridging iodine atoms is achieved, followed by electron transfer. The formation of the intermediate was supported by ESR data and quantitative analysis of the activation parameters with the use of quantum chemical computations by the DFT method at the B3LYP/3-21G* level.     Genome-wide analysis of nuclear magnetic resonance metabolites revealed parent-of-origin effect on triglycerides in medium very low-density lipoprotein in PTPRD gene

    The aim of the study was to explore the parent-of-origin effects (POEs) on a range of human nuclear magnetic resonance metabolites. Materials & methods: We search for POEs in 14,815 unrelated individuals from Estonian and Finnish cohorts using POE method for the genotype data imputed with 1000 G reference panel and 82 nuclear magnetic resonance metabolites. Results: Meta-analysis revealed the evidence of POE for the variant rs1412727 in PTPRD gene for the metabolite: triglycerides in medium very low-density lipoprotein. No POEs were detected for genetic variants that were previously known to have main effect on circulating metabolites. Conclusion: We demonstrated possibility to detect POEs for human metabolites, but the POEs are weak, and therefore it is hard to detect those using currently available sample sizes.Peer reviewe
