[[abstract]]Sound and vision are the two most important senses for us human beings., with more than half of what we feel everyday coming from it. In the modern age where cable lines and information are everywhere, much of the world is now digitalized, whatever information it is, academic, entertainment, or timely news, are all just a click off the mouse away to your service. And ever since the introduction of the movie, music pictures has developed from a combination of silent images and live orchestra, to pictures recorded along with its sounds; it has dealt with the limitations of live orchestra, and also has went through the best yimes for movies. Music and image were always inseparable, especially with the influence of the late Disney lengthy animated musical “Fantasia? on the development music video, who until today are still pioneering the plurality of music videos. Russian artist Kandinsky, deeply influenced by the music of musician Richard Wagner and Arnold Schoenberg, in his compositions facilitated the specialties of music to create his own unique artistic abstract painting style, and also proposed theories discussing color and music, and has affected later experimental video of visual music. This thesis cuts in from the theories of sound and visual senses, and then from music related animation pictures to discuss the relationship between music, sound effects, and animated images to extend our own animation composition analysis.

[[abstract]]This study evaluated the proliferation effects of huangqi on neuron regeneration. We investigated the molecular mechanisms, which include: (1) cyclin D1, A, E-cell cycle factors and MAPK signaling proliferation (2) FGF-2-UPA-MMPs migration signaling. After treatment with various Huanqi concentrations (1.25, 12.5, 125, 250 and 500 mu g/ml,), we observed that Huanqi can increase Rsc 96 cell proliferation at 12.5 mu g/ml (p < 0.01) concentration determined by the MTT and wound healing tests. Examination by RT-PCR and Western blotting assay showed that Huangqi is able to stimulate the mRNA and protein expressions of cyclin D1, A, E, cell cycle controlling proteins and excite ERK and P38 MAPK signaling pathways to promote cell proliferation. Huangqi stimulates the FGF-2-UPA-MMP9 migration pathway and enhances RSC 96 Schwann cells migration. Using MAPK chemical inhibitors, U0126, SB203580 and SP600125, the proliferative effects of Huangqi oil RSC 96 cells were ERK and P38 signaling-dependent. Based oil these results, applying an appropriate dose of Huangqi with biomedical materials would be a potential approach to enhancing neuron regeneration

Resonant States in the Electronic Structure of the High Performance Thermoelectrics AgPbmSbTe_{m}SbTe_{2+m}$ ; The Role of Ag-Sb Microstructures

Ab initio electronic structure calculations based on gradient corrected density functional theory were performed on a class of novel quaternary compounds AgPbmSbTe_{m}SbTe_{2+m}$, which were found to be excellent high temperature thermoelctrics with large figure of merit ZT ~2.2 at 800K. We find that resonant states appear near the top of the valence and bottom of the conduction bands of bulk PbTe when Ag and Sb replace Pb. These states can be understood in terms of modified Te-Ag(Sb) bonds. Electronic structure near the gap depends sensitively on the microstructural arrangements of Ag-Sb atoms, suggesting that large ZT values may originate from the nature of these ordering arrangements.Comment: Accepted in Physical Review Letter

In the title compound, [N(C4H9)4][V(C23H21NS3Si)2]·4CH3CN, the VIII atom (site symmetry ) is coordinated by two N,S,S′-tridentate 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-(3,7-dimethyl-1H-4,2,1-benzothiazasiline-1,1-diyl)dibenzenethiolate ligands in a distorted trans-VN2S4 octahedral geometry. The complete cation is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry, with the V atom lying on the rotation axis. The unusual ligand arose from nucleophilic attack on the coordinated nitrile by the thiolate precursor and reduction of nitrile to the imidate

International audienceThe first elemental cluster with hexacapped trigonal bipyramidal geometry is revealed in the luminescent undecanuclear silver complex which is stabilized by nine dithiocarbamate ligands and has an interstitial hydride. The hydride position within the Ag(11) cage is confirmed by a DFT investigation

MicroRNA Expression Profiling Altered by Variant Dosage of Radiation Exposure

[[abstract]]Various biological effects are associated with radiation exposure. Irradiated cells may elevate the risk for genetic instability, mutation, and cancer under low levels of radiation exposure, in addition to being able to extend the postradiation side effects in normal tissues. Radiation-induced bystander effect (RIBE) is the focus of rigorous research as it may promote the development of cancer even at low radiation doses. Alterations in the DNA sequence could not explain these biological effects of radiation and it is thought that epigenetics factors may be involved. Indeed, some microRNAs (or miRNAs) have been found to correlate radiation-induced damages and may be potential biomarkers for the various biological effects caused by different levels of radiation exposure. However, the regulatory role that miRNA plays in this aspect remains elusive. In this study, we profiled the expression changes in miRNA under fractionated radiation exposure in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. By utilizing publicly available microRNA knowledge bases and performing cross validations with our previous gene expression profiling under the same radiation condition, we identified various miRNA-gene interactions specific to different doses of radiation treatment, providing new insights for the molecular underpinnings of radiation injury.[[notice]]補正完畢[[incitationindex]]SCI[[incitationindex]]EI[[booktype]]電子

Banner Advertisements Scheduling to Maximize Space Utilization

    Get PDF
One of the commercial Internet applications is banner advertisement, which is also the major source of income for portal websites. Limited research works address the issues of efficiently scheduling advertisement requests into available advertisement banners in view of profitably. This paper proposes a new model for scheduling banner advertisements that more closely resembles the Internet business world. In the proposed model, we apply a feasible time window to each candidate order, and schedule advertisements into various predefined banner spaces on the webpage. This approach allows different pricing strategies according to banner types and is contrary to previous research models that schedule and price by banner space sharing. Each order for ad space will demand a certain frequency for each type of banner. The goal is to select and schedule requests to achieve the maximum ad capacity utilization. We first give a mathematical formulation to formally describe the problem. Due to the computational complexity of the studied problem, we seek to produce approximate solutions in a reasonable time. A three-phase heuristic is developed to cope with this problem. In addition, an upper bound on profits is developed. Computational experiments are designed to examine the performance of the heuristic. Statistics from the experiments reveal that the heuristic can successfully fill up to 97% of ad spaces
