PANORAMA DO MODERNISMO NO PARANÁ NO SÉCULO XX

: Este trabalho busca trazer algumas considerações acerca do surgimento e/ou presença de tendências da estética modernista no estado do Paraná, elencando alguns escritores e artistas que tomaram parte desta renovação, foram inovadores mesmo que de forma não engajada. Busca-se ainda discorrer acerca da instalação desse Modernismo em terras paranaenses, perfazendo um pequeno histórico do processo precedente que consubstanciou para a culminação e formação de tal mudança, além de traçar um panorama geral do Modernismo brasileiro, ressalvando os diálogos entre o projeto modernista nacional e os desdobramentos ocorridos pelo Brasil, os “localismos”, incluindo-se aí o Paraná, alguns de seus artistas e escritores do século XX

Medidas de indices de refração de cristais liquidos esmecticos

Centro de Ciencias Fisicas e MatematicasMostramos que os cristais líquidos biaxiais podem ter seus índices de refração principais medidos pelo método de Abbe, desde que convenientemente alinhados. Apresentam-se as medidas dos índices de refração das diferentes mesofases e da fase isotrópica do cristal líquido uni-axial 4-butoxibenzilideno-4'- aminoacetofenona em função da temperatura e para três comprimentos de onda. As medidas foram feitas pelo método de Abbe através do uso de um espectrômetro-goniômetro de precisão 1,5" com a amostra inserida entre dois prismas e aquecidos num forno, cuja temperatura foi estabilizada por um controlador de precisão ± 0,1 °C

IMAGENS DA NATUREZA NA POESIA DE HELENA KOLODY E NA PINTURA DE MIGUEL BAKUN

This work aims to analyze the presence of nature in the poetry of Helena Kolody and in the painting of Miguel Bakun, observing the way both present it in their respective arts. It is a comparative work, based on the premises of comparative literature and interart studies. We know of the convergences and divergences between the two systems of language: verbal and visual, but having them as artistic systems that speak of man to man, we intend to discuss their correlations. Also, to record the comparison between two Brazilian artists, born in the interior of Paraná, therefore, to a certain extent in the margin of the canon, which is in line with the current perspectives of comparative studies, that is, to see works and authors coming from peripheral areas Of the globe. Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a presença da natureza na poética de Helena Kolody e na pintura de Miguel Bakun, observando o modo como ambos a apresentam em suas respectivas artes. É um trabalho comparativo, pautado nas premissas da literatura comparada e estudos interartísticos. Sabe-se das convergências e divergências entre os dois sistemas de linguagem: o verbal e o visual, mas tendo-os como sistemas artísticos que falam do homem para o homem, pretende-se discutir suas correlações. Ainda, registrar a comparação entre dois artistas brasileiros, nascidos no interior do Paraná, portanto, de certa maneira à margem do cânone, o que vem ao encontro das perspectivas atuais dos estudos comparatistas, ou seja, descortinar obras e autores oriundos de áreas ditas periféricas do globo. &nbsp

O sentido da arte, presença feminina e memória lírica em Cortesanias, de Rita Santana

The poetic images in Cortesanias, by Rita Santana are mediating forces of the act of saying and (re)presenting the dynamic elements that push the poetic subject towards the act of creating and the realization of a plenitude and the power of language emphasizing the reality of the being, the power of the memory-word and the images projected in the presentification. When elaborating a poetic act based on a world of (re)signification, the poet implements a poiesis directed to the human condition and the sense of presence through the poetic word, through the expressive force of language and the heterogenous elements of the beings, when facing the meaning of art and life. In her plastic and politic poetry, the author uncovers the secrets of the woman as a being and establishes dialogues and readings of herself and her experiences with those of other artists and poets, from other times and spaces. These dialogues are explored in the present work, observing how the poet brings the question of the feminine and instigates dialogues with plastic arts, revealing a poetry that preserves the connection of its time and space with many others, offering different meanings to them.As imagens poéticas de Cortesanias, de Rita Santana são forças mediadoras do ato de dizer e de (re)apresentar os elementos dinâmicos que impulsiona o sujeito poético ao ato de criação e efetivação de uma plenitude e potência da linguagem com ênfase na realidade ôntica, no poder da palavra-memória e nas imagens projetadas na presentificação. Ao elaborar um fazer poético alicerçado em um mundo de (re)significações, a poeta efetiva uma poiesis direcionada à condição humana e ao sentido de presença pela palavra poética, pela força expressiva da linguagem e pelas heterogeneidades dos entes e seres, frente ao sentido da arte e da vida. Em sua poesia plástica e política, a autora desvenda os segredos do ser mulher e estabelece diálogos e leituras de si e de suas vivências com as de outros artistas e poetas, de outras épocas e espaços. São esses diálogos que este trabalho busca retomar, observando como a poeta traz a questão do feminino e fomenta diálogos com as artes plásticas, mostrando uma poesia que mantem a conexão de seu tempo e espaço com outros tantos, ressignificando-os

Diálogos entre a poesia de Helena Kolody e a pintura de Miguel Bakun

This work aims to compare poetry and painting using the works of two Brazilian artists: the poet Helena Kolody and the painter Miguel Bakun. It is known how important the visual aspect is in the contemporary society and how poetry creates flashes of images. Thus, the relations between the two arts is very important, because both are human constructions that expose and reflect the society in which they are placed and are simultaneously reflected by it. As theoretical premise of literature and comparative studies, the relation between men and nature will be studied, as well as its characterization in the works or the aforementioned artists.Este trabalho tem por objetivo traçar um comparativo interartístico entre poesia e pintura, a partir da obra produzida pelos artistas brasileiros, a poeta Helena Kolody e o pintor Miguel Bakun. Sabe-se da importância do aspecto visual na sociedade contemporânea e do saliente flashs de imagens despertadas pela poesia. Desse modo a relação e confluências entre as duas artes se caracteriza como importante, porque ambas são construções humanas, que expõe e refletem a sociedade em que se inserem e ao mesmo tempo são refletidas por ela.  Com pressupostos teóricos da Literatura e estudos comparados será observado como se dá a relação entre homem e natureza, bem como esta é caracterizada no conjunto da obra dos referidos artistas

The rat intervertebral disk degeneration pain model: relationships between biological and structural alterations and pain

INTRODUCTION: Degeneration of the interverterbral disk is as a cause of low-back pain is increasing. To gain insight into relationships between biological processes, structural alterations and behavioral pain, we created an animal model in rats. METHODS: Disk degeneration was induced by removal of the nucleus pulposus (NP) from the lumbar disks (L4/L5 and L5/L6) of Sprague Dawley rats using a 0.5-mm-diameter microsurgical drill. The degree of primary hyperalgesia was assessed by using an algometer to measure pain upon external pressure on injured lumbar disks. Biochemical and histological assessments and radiographs of injured disks were used for evaluation. We investigated therapeutic modulation of chronic pain by administering pharmaceutical drugs in this animal model. RESULTS: After removal of the NP, pressure hyperalgesia developed over the lower back. Nine weeks after surgery we observed damaged or degenerated disks with proteoglycan loss and narrowing of disk height. These biological and structural changes in disks were closely related to the sustained pain hyperalgesia. A high dose of morphine (6.7 mg/kg) resulted in effective pain relief. However, high doses of pregabalin (20 mg/kg), a drug that has been used for treatment of chronic neuropathic pain, as well as the anti-inflammatory drugs celecoxib (50 mg/kg; a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2)) and ketorolac (20 mg/kg; an inhibitor of COX-1 and COX-2), did not have significant antihyperalgesic effects in our disk injury animal model. CONCLUSIONS: Although similarities in gene expression profiles suggest potential overlap in chronic pain pathways linked to disk injury or neuropathy, drug-testing results suggest that pain pathways linked to these two chronic pain conditions are mechanistically distinct. Our findings provide a foundation for future research on new therapeutic interventions that can lead to improvements in the treatment of patients with back pain due to disk degeneration

Acute onset of intracranial subdural hemorrhage five days after spinal anesthesia for knee arthroscopic surgery: a case report

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Introduction</p> <p>Spinal anesthesia is a widely used general purpose anesthesia. However, serious complications, such as intracranial subdural hemorrhage, can rarely occur.</p> <p>Case presentation</p> <p>We report the case of a 73-year-old Japanese woman who had acute onset of intracranial subdural hemorrhage five days after spinal anesthesia for knee arthroscopic surgery.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>This case highlights the need to pay attention to acute intracranial subdural hemorrhage as a complication after spinal anesthesia. If the headache persists even in a supine position or nausea occurs abruptly, computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging of the brain should be conducted. An intracranial subdural hematoma may have a serious outcome and is an important differential diagnosis for headache after spinal anesthesia.</p
