Death of physical body is not the end of life (medical-philosophic thoughts about human structure)
In this article thoughts about complex human structure, taking to consideration the philosophic concepts of human inner and outer world’s structure, relying on religious explanation of soul’s existence, about dominating role of soul in comparison with physical body and about death are represented
Performance of ALICE pixel prototypes in high energy beams
The two innermost layers of the ALICE inner tracking system are instrumented
with silicon pixel detectors. Single chip assembly prototypes of the ALICE
pixels have been tested in high energy particle beams at the CERN SPS.
Detection efficiency and spatial precision have been studied as a function of
the threshold and the track incidence angle. The experimental method, data
analysis and main results are presented.Comment: 10 pages, 9 figures, contribution to PIX2005 Workshop, Bonn

Beam Test Performance and Simulation of Prototypes for the ALICE Silicon Pixel Detector
The silicon pixel detector (SPD) of the ALICE experiment in preparation at
the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN is designed to provide the precise
vertex reconstruction needed for measuring heavy flavor production in heavy ion
collisions at very high energies and high multiplicity. The SPD forms the
innermost part of the Inner Tracking System (ITS) which also includes silicon
drift and silicon strip detectors. Single assembly prototypes of the ALICE SPD
have been tested at the CERN SPS using high energy proton/pion beams in 2002
and 2003. We report on the experimental determination of the spatial precision.
We also report on the first combined beam test with prototypes of the other ITS
silicon detector technologies at the CERN SPS in November 2004. The issue of
SPD simulation is briefly discussed.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures, prepared for proceedings of 7th International

The ALICE Silicon Pixel Detector System (SPD)
The ALICE silicon pixel detector (SPD) comprises the two innermost layers of the ALICE inner tracker system. The SPD includes 120 detector modules (half-staves) each consisting of 10 ALICE pixel chips bump bonded to two silicon sensors and one multi-chip read-out module. Each pixel chip contains 8192 active cells, so that the total number of pixel cells in the SPD is ≈ 107. The on-detector read-out is based on a multi-chip-module containing 4 ASICs and an optical transceiver module. The constraints on material budget and detector module dimensions are very demanding
On the need to revise and clarify the criteria and terminology used in the rules of forensic medical determination of the severity of physical injuries
By analyzing the regulatory document (Rules for forensic determination of the severity of injuries, from now on the "Rules") and expert practice (expert opinion), to develop the ways to improve certain points of the referred to "Rules ...". The "Rules ..." and cases from expert practice - 39 archive copies of the "Expert Opinions" for 2014-2018 were analyzed. Having investigated the cases of the bodily harm severity degree on the example of the spleen injury, we obtained contradictory results, as in fact at an injury with the same morphological properties (spleen rupture), it was possible to diagnose different severity degree of injuries, depending on the fact whether or not you provided medical care to the injured person in time
Prospects for at CERN in NA62
The NA62 experiment will begin taking data in 2015. Its primary purpose is a
10% measurement of the branching ratio of the ultrarare kaon decay , using the decay in flight of kaons in an unseparated
beam with momentum 75 GeV/c.The detector and analysis technique are described
here.Comment: 8 pages for proceedings of 50 Years of CP
Irradiation and SPS Beam Tests of the Alice1LHCb Pixel Chip
The Alice1LHCb front-end chip has been designed for the ALICE pixel and the LHCb RICH detectors. It is fabricated in a commercial 0.25 µm CMOS technology, with special design techniques to obtain radiation tolerance. The chip has been irradiated with low energy protons and heavy ions, to determine the cross-section for Single Event Upsets (SEU), and with X-rays to evaluate the sensitivity to total ionising dose. We report the results of those measurements. We also report preliminary results of measurements done with 150 GeV pions at the CERN SPS
The ALICE Silicon Pixel Detector: readiness for the first proton beam
The Silicon Pixel Detector (SPD) is the innermost element of the ALICE Inner Tracking
System (ITS). The SPD consists of two barrel layers of hybrid silicon pixels surrounding the
beam pipe with a total of 48 10^7 pixel cells. The SPD features a very low material budget, a 99.9%
efficient bidimensional digital response, a 12 micron spatial precision in the bending plane (rf ) and a
prompt signal as input to the L0 trigger. The SPD commissioning in the ALICE experimental area
is well advanced and it includes calibration runs with internal pulse and cosmic ray runs. In this
contribution the commissioning of the SPD is reviewed and the first results from runs with cosmic
rays and circulating proton beams are presented
Results of suicide attempts monitoring in the city of Odessa for the
period of 2001–2005 (within the frame of the WHO-Euro suicide attempts
monitoring and prevention network) are presented. The results of the analysis confirm differences in gender and age patterns of attempted and completed suicide known for many countries. When speaking about attempts,
men/women ratio is about 0.83 (in cases) and 0.96 (in rates); most of the
attempts (47% in women and 53% in men) are made by younger people
(under age 29). In men of all ages the suicide attempts/completed suicides
rates ratio is about 1.5; in women – about 6. In age group 15–19 years
females attempt suicide almost 2 times more frequent then males, while in
age groups 25–44 and 55–59 males have 5–10% higher rates. On the other
hand there are some common features between attempted and completed
suicide, and this is the seasonal pattern (rise from February to April, in July
and in September–October). Suicide attempts are more frequent on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, the biggest number of referrals to the ambulance occur in the second half of the day. Methods of suicide attempts are
predominantly medications overdose and wrist cutting (together making
85%). The incidence of alcohol intoxication is about 26% of all cases. In
3% of cases the attempt was repeated. About 1.6% of suicide attempts resulted in completed suicide during 5 years of monitoring. In general it is
clear that those who are attempting and completing suicides differ to a
great degree. It is discussed how obtained data may help in identifying the
main risk groups and formulating goals of suicide prevention strategies
