    Rhizome Buds Disinfection for Preparation of Red Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roxb. var. rubrum Rosc.) In Vitro Culture

    The success of culture initiation depends on explant surface sterilization techniques. Suitable concentration, combinations, and duration of exposure of sterilizing agents are important to raise in vitro culture successfully. The aim of this work is to obtain the suitable sterilization method for explant buds of red ginger rhizome to get the axenic culture. Four sterilizing agents, fungicide, bactericide, Cefotaxime antibiotic, and NaOCl were tested for sterilization by various concentration and duration of exposure. The results showed that sterilizing agents 200 mg/L Cefotaxime and 100 mg/L Benomyl combined with NaOCl decreased the contamination of explants, and achieved 20% axenic culture

    Abstrak- Jeruk nipis dan tomat merupakan buah yang mengandung senyawa antioksidan seperti vitamin C, flavonoid, dan karotenoid. Pengolahannya menjadi serbuk minuman instan memudahkan konsumsi, meningkatkan nilai jual dan pemanfaatan, meningkatkan stabilitas fisik buah sehingga dapat dipasarkan lebih luas. Metode foam mat drying menggunakan suhu rendah sehingga proses pengeringan mampu menciptakan produk stabil senyawa yang termolabilnya. Pasta tomat digunakan untuk kombinasi dengan jeruk nipis untuk mengurangi rasa masam dan pahit yang khas dari pasta jeruk nipis. Serbuk jeruk nipis (1,25%) dan serbuk kombinasi jeruk nipis dan tomat (1,60%) memberikan kualitas kadar air, kriteria organoleptis, jumlah gula, dan bebas bahan tambahan pangan yang sesuai SNI. Aktivitas antioksidan serbuk yang dihasilkan diuji melalui peredaman radikal bebas nitrit oksida serbuk jeruk nipis (IC50 =4248,90±120,51) dan serbuk ombinasi jeruk nipis dan tomat (IC50 =4931,81±108,37). Hal ini menunjukkan perbedaan yang berbeda bermakna jika dianalisis statistik menggunakan SPSS versi 20.Kata Kunci: Jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia), Tomat (Solanum lycopersicum), foam mat drying, IC50 Abstract– Lime and tomato are fruits that contain many antioxidant coumpounds such as vitamin C, flavonoids, and carotenoids. Processed to instant powder beverage will lead to easiness to drink, increase sale value, and increase the stability of storage so it could be sold in wider areas. Foam Mat Drying is a method that use low temperature of hot air that keep the thermolabil coumpounds safe then dry the samples faster because enlargement of surface that contact the air with foaming. Tomato paste is kombined with lime paste to mitigate the bitter taste from lime paste. The moisture content of lime powder (1,25%) and kombination lime and tomato powder (1,60%), the taste, the smell, the colour, and the free from additive compounds show the suitability to SNI criterias. The antioxidant activity from lime powder and the combination powder was analyzed with Nitric oxide scavenging activities. The value of IC50 performed that the antioxidant activity of lime powder is greater that kombination powder.     Pandemi COVID-19 telah berdampak pada kualitas kesehatan dan perekonomian masyarakat. Kemampuan dalam pemanfaatan peluang usaha merupakan keharusan yang perlu dilakukan oleh masyarakat melalui inovasi produk yang berhubungan dengan kesehatan. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang diversifikasi produk pangan fungsional berbahan jahe yang dapat meningkatkan sistem imun tubuh dan menjadi peluang usaha pada masa pandemi ini. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan penyuluhan kepada kader PKK RW 06 Kecamatan Rungkut Surabaya yang terdiri 20 orang ibu-ibu yang merupakan kelompok aktif dalam kegiatan pembangunan masyarakat. Evaluasi melalui metode pre-test dan Post-Test dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman mitra terhadap materi penyuluhan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, terdapat peningkatan pemahaman mitra terhadap keseluruhan materi sebesar 55.56 %, dan empat komponen materi penyuluhan yang terdiri dari sistem imun, pangan fungsional, jahe dan diversifikasi produk juga mengalami peningkatan mencapai 62,5-84,38 %. Hasil peningkatan pemahaman tersebut diharapkan dapat menjadi awal dalam penyelesaian permasalahan mitra pada masa pandemi ini

    Herbaceous celery (apii graveolentis herb) from Ubaya Training Center Trawas-Mojokerto will be used in Tenggilis Ubaya Herbal Pharmacy. Simplicia qualiry testing included specific parameters such as macroscopic and microscopic test, and the non-specific parameters. Macrocopic and microscopic test showed appropriate for specific parameters of herbaceous celery. Results of non-specific parameters showed levels of dryer shrinkage of 6.98%, total ash 17.97%, acid insoluble ash content of 1.61 %, the levels of soluble extract in ethanol 7.15%, and a water-soluble extract content of 24.84%. All non-specific parameters result was appropriate for Herbaceous celery requirements from Indonesian Herbal Pham1acopoeia. Others specific and non-specific parameters must be determined in the interest of traditional medicine formulation

    To survive the Covid-19 epidemic, businesses must employ innovative and important methods, one of which is functional food diversification for product expansion and higher selling value. However, some beginner entrepreneurs still do not understand this strategy, which causes the business to not develop, including what is experienced by partners. The goal of this community service project is to expand partners' knowledge of the marketing of diverse functional food products made from ginger, which was previously done in product production training. Marketing knowledge was provided through counseling methods related to digital marketing, packaging selection, and product licensing. The partners of this activity are the PKK group of RW 06 Rungkut Lor, Rungkut District, Surabaya. Participatory Action Research (PAR) with a counseling mechanism is the community service strategy adopted. Evaluation of increased knowledge using the pretest and posttest methods. The questions' components include the marketing process, marketing mix, digital marketing, general understanding of product licensing, and information related to NIB, PIRT permits, halal certificates, and BPOM food permits. According to the evaluation findings, there was a 9.59% gain in expertise in digital marketing outreach efforts and a 33.33% rise in product licensing outreach activities. It is envisaged that this increase in learning would aid in the resolution of partner product marketing issues and boost partner economic welfare

An internal information system containing a database of East Java suppliers and distributors can support the guarantee of completeness and ease of access to supplier and distributor data at UKOT PT X in Surabaya, East Java. An interview with the Responsible Pharmacist (APJ) and documentation on PT X's documents were used to collect data. Following this, the final output of the data from the selected documentation is fed into the database that has been built as part of PT X's internal information system. The study was conducted on the internal database of PT X, and it focused on the database's completeness, accuracy, and accessibility. Users of UKOT PT X's internal database were asked to participate in the evaluation as respondents. The responses to the questionnaire indicated that PT X's database system was very complete in information about distributors of finished products and suppliers of raw materials (including herbal raw materials, excipients, and packaging). This conclusion was reached by eighty percent of the data completeness assessment intervals. All respondents correctly answered questions about data on suppliers and distributors of finished products, which are presented in PT X's internal information system database. In terms of data presentation, language, and search feature functions, 93.33% of respondents agree that the database in PT X's information system is very easy to access
