Changes of Immunological Profiles in Patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in the Course of Treatment

In the previous paper of ours we compared, prior to start any treatment, a number of immunological parameters in 24 chronic myeloid leukemia patients with the same number of healthy subjects matched by age and sex. We found significant differences in the levels of immunoglobulins, the C4 component of complement, the C-reactive protein, interleukin 6, the composition of lymphocyte population and the production of some cytokines by stimulated CD3+ cells. Eleven of these patients were followed longitudinally. After treatment with hydroxyurea, interferon alpha, imatinib mesylate and dasatinib, or various combinations thereof, hematological remission was achieved in all patients and complete cytogenetic remission in nine of them. There was a nearly general tendency towards normalization of the abnormalities observed in the patients at their enrollment

Urbanization in China: Sustainability of Chinese Cities

The aim of the master thesis is to characterize development trends of Chinese urbanization since the establishment of People´s Republic of China until today, approaches to these trends and evaluate their sustainability. Thesis includes four main parts. The first part introduces main urbanization theories: Stages of Urban Development, Differential Urbanization, and Environmental Kuznets Curve. The second part characterizes the development of Chinese urbanization, defines two main determinants of the future development and tries to cover different potential future scenarios. The third part deals with Chinese urban policies, such as five-year-plans, Urbanization plan and reforms. After that, the sustainability issue is evaluated. Last part of the thesis deals with urbanization trends and policies in Chongqing municipality

Diplomová práce má za cíl charakterizovat vývojové trendy čínské urbanizace od vzniku Čínské lidové republiky dodnes, přístupy k ní a zhodnotit udržitelnost těchto trendů. Práce se skládá ze čtyř hlavních kapitol. První kapitola představuje vybrané urbanizační teorie: teorii stádií vývoje měst, diferenciální urbanizaci a environmentální Kuznetsovu křivku. Druhá část charakterizuje vývoj čínské urbanizace, definuje dva hlavní determinanty budoucího vývoje a snaží se postihnout možné scénáře vývoje budoucího. Třetí část se zabývá přístupem čínské vlády a příslušnými dokumenty, mezi něž patří pětileté plány, Urbanizační plán a reformy. Poté je zhodnocena udržitelnost čínské urbanizace. The development of environmental policy in the Czech republic and its intenational aspects

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to introduce the development of environmental policy in the Czech Republic since 1990 and problems connected in particular periods with implementation of goals of environmental policy. The first chapter focuses on definition of basic terms, principles, goals and tools of environmental policy. The second chapter deals with the development of this policy in the Czech Republic and the cooperation with international organisations. The third chapter is focused on environmental policy of the European Union -- its authorities, development and financing. The conclusion brings the evaluation of an impact of EU on this policy in the Czech Republic

Aerobic fitness of university students in non-traditional games

Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo porovnat intenzitu pohybového zatížení vybraných netradičních her u studentů TU v Liberci s ohledem na rozvoj aerobní zdatnosti. Vybrané netradiční hry byly brenbal, kinball, tchoukball a holomajzna. Celkem se měření účastnilo 50 žen a 29 mužů. Měřený úsek trval 45 minut. Před samotným měřením intenzity pohybového zatížení u netradičních her byla zpracována data o tělesné výšce, váze a BMI studentů. Následoval test člunkový běh na 20 metrů pro zjištění maximální srdeční frekvence a test pro zjištění klidové srdeční frekvence. Na základě těchto hodnot byly u každého studenta individuálně nastaveny zóny srdečních frekvencí. Při samotném zjišťování intenzity pohybového zatížení u vybraných netradičních her byla dominantní pozornost věnována druhé až čtvrté zóně (60-89 % ze SFmax), které jsou podstatné pro rozvoj aerobní zdatnosti. Údaje o srdečních frekvencích byly zaznamenávány pomocí monitoru srdeční frekvence (Polar XC 800). Data byla přenášena do programu Polar ProTrainer 5 a zpracována v procesoru Microsoft Excel 2010. Výsledky ukazují, že studenti průměrně strávili v zóně 60-89 % ze SFmax při hře brenbal 64,43 % (28 minut a 59 sekund), při hře kinball 59,90 % (26 minut a 58 sekund), během hry tchoukball 48,63 % (21 minut a 53 sekund) a při hře holomajzna 57,97 % (26 minut a 5 sekund) z celého měřeného úseku. Na základě těchto výsledů lze konstatovat, že hry brenbal, kinball, holomajzna, tchoukball jsou velice vhodné pro zařazení do výuky studentů na VŠ a do volnočasových aktivit dospělých s ohledem na rozvoj aerobní zdatnosti.The main intention of this dissertation is to examine the suitability of implementation of unusual games, such as brenbal, kinball, tchoukball, holomajzna to develop the aerobic fitness based on measured intensity of physical activity in exercise units of free time games and unusual games at TU in Liberec. In total 50 men and 29 women anticipated. The measured section lasted 45 minutes. Prior to the measurement, additional data about students height, weight and BMI were processed, followed by a shuttle run to determine the maximum heart rate and a test to establish the resting heart rate. Based on these data, values of heart rate zones during physical load have been individually set for every student. The main focus was on the second, third and the fourth zone (60-89 % from HRmax), which develops aerobic fitness. Data about heart rate were reported by heart rate monitor, consisting of a chest strap and a watch. Data collected by the watch were transferred to Polar ProTrainer 5 program and processed in Microsoft Excell 2010. The results show that students in zone 60-89 % from HRmax spent while playing brenbal 64,43 % (28 minutes and 59 second), kinball 59,90 % (26 minutes 58 seconds), tchoukball 48,63 % (21 minutes 53 seconds) and holomajzna 57,9 7% (26 minutes 5 seconds) of the measured section. Based on these results it can conclude that games like brenbal, kinball, tchoukball, and holomajzna are suitable for implementation into university's education and into free time activities for adults
