Dutch, Hungarian and German dairy farms technical efficiency comparison

The abolishment of the dairy quota system in the EU is expected to increase competition across dairy farms in Europe. Assuming a common price for milk in the EU, only the most efficient farms will survive in the new environment. The main objective of the paper is to compare dairy farms in Germany, The Netherlands and Hungary about their technical efficiency. In the first part of the research, the efficiency is measured by partial efficiency indexes using one dimensional efficiency measuring. In the second part, the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) have to be used to measure efficiency in a multidimensional space, using six inputs and two outputs. It appears from the results that the highest efficiency farms are in the Netherlands, and then Germany and Hungary follow. If we want to eliminate the low sample size effect, we can assume a common frontier, which decreases the efficiency scores a bit, and makes the Hungarian results more reliable. With respect the abolishment of the dairy quota system, our results suggest that the Dutch farms are the most efficient, thus probably they will increase their production after the quota system. But because the size of the country we cannot expect dramatic changes in the European Dairy market. The Germans farms efficiency is lower, but their efficiency is also lower, so we won’t expect high increase about the dairy supply. The Hungarian dairy sector is not so efficient like the Dutch, and the size of the sector has also small among the European countries, thus if they want to survive the quota system demolishing, they have to increase their technical efficiency

Applying a multi-criteria decision methodology in the implementation of tenders for the acquisition of the infrastructure of logistics systems

The study begins by questions of the necessity of using tenders, then, continues detailing the implementation of tenders starting from the preparation of the call for offers up to making the final decision. Basalt fibre reinforced poly(lactic acid) based composites for engineering applications

In our research we have investigated the us ability of basalt fabrics and roving as a novel reinforcement for the renewable resource and inherently biodegradable polymer Poly(Lactic Acid) (PLA). The composites were prepared by using film-stacking method, thus by laying basalt fabrics and PLA film onto each other and co mpression moulding this layered structure. PLA film was produced film (sheet) extrusion from pellets. The effect of processing parameters, namely pressure and temperature was analysed on the mechanical properties of the composites. It was found that both paramet ers are highly effectiv e in significantly increasing the wetting of the basalt fabric, a nd thus the mechanical properties. Finally, unidirectional composites were also prepared by the same method to be able to determine the maximum achievable strength of the basalt fibre reinforced PLA composites

Vízibogarak faunisztikai vizsgálata Északnyugat-Magyarországon (Coleoptera: Hydradephaga, Hydrophiloidea, Elmidae)

Munkánk során az Észak-dunántúli Környezetvédelmi, Természetvédelmi és Vízügyi Felügyelőség működési területén 2004–2005-ben gyűjtött minták vízibogár anyagát dolgoztuk fel. 43 mintavételi pontról összesen 48 vízibogárfaj egyedei kerültek elő. Faunisztikai szempontból kiemelésre érdemes a Hydroporus dobrogeanus és a Limnius muelleri előkerülése. Detailed occurrence data of 48 aquatic beetle species collected at 43 sampling sites in the operational area of North Transdanubian Regional Environmental Nature Conservation and Water Management Inspectorate are given. In faunistical point of view the occurrence of Hydroporus dobrogeanus and Limnius muelleri are interesting results

A mould was designed and manufactured by using conventional and additive technologies. Injection moulding tests were performed using these moulds. The temperature of the moulds was determined as well as its effect on the thermal properties of the parts
