Sezaryen skar gebeligi: Nadir bir olgu sunumu

    No full text
Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is the rarest form of ectopic pregnancies that can cause serious complications. The incidence of CSP has risen during the last decade because of rising cesarean section rates worldwide. An early and accurate diagnosis and termination constitute main points of the management. Clinical management of CSP should be the prevention of massive blood loss and the conservation of the uterus to maintain further fertility. Standard treatment of choice is still unknown. Many therapeutic options are available such as dilatation and curettage, local or systemically administered methotrexate, laparatomy, excision of trophoblastic tissues using either laparoscopy or hysteroscopy and uterine artery embolization. In this report, we present a patient with cesarean scar pregnancy who was successfully treated with dilatation and curettage. Copyright ©2015 by Türkiye Klinikleri

Role of hysteroscopy in evaluation of postmenopausal bleeding hysteroscopy in menopause

    No full text
Objective: As a possible sign of endometrial cancer postmenopausal bleeding should be evaluated carefully. Dilatation and curettage (D&C) is still gold standard for assessment of postmenopausal bleeding. The development of hysteroscopy has provided a minimally invasive approach for endometrial assessment. We aimed to correlate hysteroscopic impressions and pathological findings in postmenopausal bleeding in this study. Material and Methods: This is a retrospective cross-sectional study. This study involves case records of one hundred thirteen women with postmenopausal bleeding. One hundred thirteen women with postmenopausal bleeding who underwent hysteroscopy with diagnostic D&C between January 2012 and January 2013 at Bursa Zübeyde Hanim Maternity Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Sensitivity, specificity, positive (PPV) and negative (NPV) predictive values of hysteroscopy were calculated. D&C was set as the 'gold standard'. Results: For the assessment of postmenopausal bleeding hysteroscopy has high sensitivity and specificity for endometrial space occupying lesions (polyp 100%, 93%; fibroid 100%, 91.8%). However for endometrial hyperplasia, hysteroscopy has low sensitivity (75%). Conclusion: Hysteroscopy is a good diagnostic method especially for detecting intrauterine spaceoccupying (polyp, fibroid) lesions, but moderate for endometrial hyperplasia. Hysteroscopic view combined with hysteroscopy guided endometrial biopsy could be a gold standard for endometrial assessment in postmenopausal bleeding. Copyright © 2015 by Türkiye Klinikleri

Pregnancy and lactation in a patient with Gaucher disease receiving enzyme replacement therapy: Case report

    No full text
Gaucher disease (GD) is a lysosomal storage disorder characterized with beta-glucocerebrosidase enzime deficiency. The disease is progressive with several manifestations including hematologic abnormalities, organomegaly and bony abnormalities. Pregnancy may excerbate this manifestations. Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) has been used to improve clinical signs and reverse organomegaly and disease progress. Studies showed that ERT with imiglucerase reduce the risk of abortion and GD related complications. However, there have been only a few published data regarding the effects of imiglucerase on fetus, on newborn and on infant. In this case we report a succesfull pregnancy, delivery and healthy 2-year follow-up of GD under ERT with imiglucerase. Copyright © 2015 by Türkiye Klinikleri

Objective: Aim of this study was to evaluate role of hysteroscopy in thickened endometrium (<5 mm) associated with tamoxifen therapy Materials and Methods: We performed dilatation and curettage (D&C) and hysteroscopic biopsy to patients for evaluation of thickened endometrium in tamoxifen therapy. One hundred and nine asymptomatic patients with estrogen receptor positive breast cancer treated with tamoxifen 20 mg daily. We performed hysteroscopic biopsy or D&C to patients who have thickened endometrium at transvaginal sonography. We correlate pathology report results of D&C and hysteroscopic biopsy. Results: Fifty-nine of 103 patients have thickened endometrium.Thirty-fve of 59 patients diagnosed with D&C (19 inactive endometrium, 15 endometrial polyp, 1 endometrial hyperplasia). D&C couldn't get material 24 of these patients. Hysteroscopic biopsy diagnosed endometrial polyp 11 (45.8%) of these patients. Conclusion: We can state that D&C does not seem accurate enough for detection of intrauterin pathologies in thickened endometrium associated with tamoxifen therapy. We therefore believe it is reasonable to perform hysteroscopic biopsy in asymptomatic tamoxifen treated patients who have thickened endometrium. The effect of intrapreneurship and organizational factors on the innovation performance in hospital

    No full text
In the context of environmental uncertainty and competition, organizations are trying to find new ways to improve their performance. The development of novelties based on innovation, especially in the service sector, is the departure point for many organizations. Intrapreneurship and organizational structure are important factors for organizations to improve the innovation performance. In this study, it is aimed to investigate whether intrapreneurship and organizational factors influence the innovation performance. The data were collected from a hospital by means of intrapreneurship scale, organizational factors scale and innovation performance scale. According to the results of Structural Equation Model analysis, intrapreneurship has positive influences on innovation performance. Organizational factors directly and indirectly affect innovation performance. Moreover, intrapreneurship has mediation effect between organizational factors and innovation performance. Lastly, Intrapreneurship enhances the effect of organizational factors on innovation performance. © 2018, Expert Projects. All rights reserved

Tribological behavior and quantum chemical calculations of protic ionic liquids: Synthesis, spectroscopic, and thermal properties

    No full text
Protic ionic liquids (PILs) were synthesized through a stoichiometric neutralization reaction between 2,2 ′ - (ethylenedioxy)-bis(ethylamine) { Edbea} and various acids (formic, acetic, boric, decanoic, and gentisic acid). The PILs were characterized by elemental analyses, FTIR, 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. All the PILs except PIL3 were liquid at room temperature. The viscosity of the PILs (PIL1, 2, 4, 5) was measured using a cone-and-plate viscometer at ambient temperature. Quantum chemical calculations were used to explain the cation/anion ratio in the PILs. Reaction energies in the gas phase calculated at M062X/6-311 + G(d,p) level were used to determine the cation/anion ratio. A sliding wear test was conducted at room temperature using an AA7075 disc specimen against a stationary 100Cr6 steel ball. The wear protection of PILs and 15W40 engine oil was determined by considering the volume loss of AA7075. © TÜBİTA

A Turkish law perspective on the right to be forgotten

    No full text
Since the rule is changed from easily forget to easily remember thanks to the digital Internet platforms, the question if there should be a right to be forgotten consecrated to individuals has become a frequently asked question with - of -course no “one correct answer” in different legal systems all around the world. Turkish legal practice has also encountered different cases where the question if a right to be forgotten should be recognized/accorded or not. Thus, the concept itself and discussions thereon prove to be heated nowadays among legal scholars. Accord- ingly, this article mainly aims to legally analyze the newly emerging concept “the right to be forgotten” and its potential practical impacts to the existing or future Internet technologies, in light of the Turkish legislations and existing case law
