Comparison of Si and SiC based Power Converter Module of 150 kVA for Power System Applications

    Get PDF
The paper deals with the comparison of power semiconductors based on Si and SiC in application of power converters for power systems. These are single-phase voltage-source bridge inverters with nominal power of 150 kVA. Power converters are designed to operate under both active power and reactive power. Mechanical design of the converters is ready for interchange the power semiconductor modules and assess the operation with both, Si and SiC technology

This bachelor’s thesis is focused on a description of thermal hydraulics, operating parametres and basic models of each individual main components of the primary and secondary circuits of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plant as well. The description used here is to show differences between the western-type PWR and the eastern-type VVER and operating parametres of different components. The modelling used here shows different functions of each component and different ways of their regulation.I focus on the heat transfer within the fuel cells inside the active zone of a nuclear reactor in the first part of the thesis. Next focus is on a description of the pressurizer and its functions within the primary circuit. Lastly I describe functions of the main circulation pump. The second part of the thesis focuses on description of a steam generator and its operating parametres. In the last chapter we describe steam generator‘s transmission properties and a creation of the steam generator mathematical model

Identification of metabolites of anthelminthics in helminth parasites using mass spectrometry

If we want be successful in the treatment of parasitic disease, it is important to get the utmost information on the fate of given drug. The discovery of the metabolism of anthelmintics and in cosequence of participating enzymes can help us fight the rising resistance to given drugs. The aim of our work was to find and identify phase I and phase II metabolites of the anthelminthic drugs albendazole (ABZ), flubendazole (FLU) and mebendazole (MEB) formed in ex vivo incubations by parasitic helminth Dicrocoelium dendriticum, using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometric techniques. In the ex vivo study, D. dendriticum adults were incubated in cultivating medium in presence of benzimidazole drug for 24 hours. After incubation of parasites, both parasite homogenates and medium from the incubation were separately extracted using solid phase extraction. The extracts were analyzed using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). We detected in phase I albendazole sulphoxide, reduced flubendazole and reduced mebendazole. As for phase II metabolites, methylderivatives of flubendazole, reduced flubendazole and reduced mebendazole were observed

Digital learning in the Czech Republic: Customer profile and situation on the market

This thesis is devoted to learning supported by modern information technologies. It describes the methodological approaches used to create e-learning-based education programmes, summarizes current trends and analyzes evolution of the global market with learning technologies. Due to the focus on the Czech Republic, it also analyzes the results of 2 surveys, namely use of e-learnning in the corporations and use of e-learning at the University of Economics, Prague

The research project 1995 – 1996 was granted by RSS - Research Support Scheme, HESP - Higher Education Support Programme grant RS/HESP/1074/693/1995. A typology of "urban tissues" was developped. The "urban tissues", are middle-sized parts of the city, homogenous in their main quantitative characteristics - i.e. intensity of land use (COS, CES) and built-form height, defined in average number of stories (ANS, VyHL). The typologies were edevelopped fot both the collection of Slovak urban tissues identified by Faculty of Architecture in Bratislava research, and for a collection of Western Europe urban tissues
