Teaching documents creation for work in the development system Logo! Soft Comfort
Mým úkolem je seznámit se s logickým programováním v softwaru LOGO! Soft Comfort, popsat ho a navrhnout ukázkové úlohy. V této práci bych chtěl studentům pomoci pochopit tuto problematiku logického programování. Chtěl bych aby díky mé práci bylo pro budoucí studenty programování tohoto PLC jednodušší a snazší. Představím a popíšu zde výše zmiňovaný software, jeho prvky a vše budu demonstrovat na navržených příkladech. My task is to become acquianted with logical progamming in software LOGO!Soft Comfort, describe it and project demonstration excercises. In this schoolwork I would like to assist in understanding of questions about logical progamming. My idea is that my work will help to the future students to make progamming of this PLC much more simple and easy. I will present and describe this software and its parts and everything I will show on the proposed examples.
Ordinary Stories in Extraordinary Times: Marcie Hershman’s Tales of the Master Race
This paper examines the categories of perpetrators, bystanders and victims as represented among the characters of Marcie Hershman’s short story cycle Tales of the Master Race. The main focus is on the characters of perpetrators, as it is predominantly from their perspectives that Hershman depicts life in a small German town during the Third Reich. The paper aims to explore the social-psychological reasons for the perpetration of evil, be it conformity to authorities or ideological anti-Semitism. It also points to a certain fluidity in the examined categories of the characters, demonstrating the thin borders among them
Relocated from an Elevator to a Cattle Car: Intergenerational Transmission of Trauma in Thane Rosenbaum’s Elijah Visible
This article analyzes Thane Rosenbaum’s short-story cycle / novel-in-stories Elijah Visible in which the fragmented postmodern protagonist Adam Posner is profoundly affected by the traumatic legacy of his parents. Although with each story his identity is modified, the experience of this American Adam is framed by the feeling of being relocated in space and time. It is shaped by postmemory, to use Marianne Hirsch’s concept characterizing the vicarious witnessing of the traumatic past. Being immersed in the Holocaust, Rosenbaum is at the same time aware of its unspeakability; he knows that words may fail to transport the reader to the scene of the crime. Despite his obsession with the Holocaust, Rosenbaum stresses his conviction that the Holocaust should not be the sole formative element of Jewish identity for his generation. The present article attempts to illuminate the mediation of traumatic experience between two generations and to show that the intergenerational transmission of trauma complicates relationships between survivors and their children, who have often felt burdened by the survivors’ silence about the Holocaust, resulting in the alienation of the post-Holocaust generation from their parents
Innovative bidirectional isolated high-power density on-board charge for vehicle-to-grid
This paper deals with developing and implementing a bidirectional galvanically isolated on-board charger of a high-power density. The power density of the new charger was 4 kW/kg and 2.46 kW/dm(3), and the maximum efficiency was 96.4% at 3.4 kW. Due to the requirement to achieve a high-power density, a single-stage inverter topology was used. Regarding switching losses, due to the topology of the circuit with so-called hard switching, the switching frequency was set to 150 kHz. A laboratory prototype was built to verify the properties and operating principles of the described charger topology. The on-board charger has been tested in a microgrid test platform. Due to the parasitic properties of the transformer and other electronic components, overvoltage with subsequent oscillations occurred on the primary side of the transformer and damped resonance on its secondary side. These parasitic properties caused interference and especially voltage stress on the semiconductor elements. These undesirable phenomena have been eliminated by adding an active element to the charger topology and a new transistor control strategy. This new switching control strategy of transistors has been patented.Web of Science2221art. no. 847
Filtracja harmonicznych w trakcyjnej podstacji transformatorowej
The article deals with harmonics filtration in railway traction transformer substations. In traction transforms substations in the Czech
Republic there are filters of 3rd and 5th harmonics. The article discuses side effect of these filters – suppression of additional harmonics. The article is
based on measurement and simulation results.Przedstawiono metodę filtracji harmonicznych w trakcyjnej podstacji transformatorowej. Przedfstawiono wyniki symulacji i pomiarów.Web of Science8712a464
Dara Horn – A New Voice in Contemporary Jewish American Fiction
This essay introduces the contemporary Jewish American novelist Dara Horn. It concentrates on her second novel The World to Come, published in 2006. In this novel, in which Horn mixes various genres, we follow the mysterious story of the Ziskind family from Russia to America. The family history is seen through the history of a Marc Chagall painting that once accompanied the life of the protagonist Benjamin Ziskind. This essay attempts to present Dara Horn as an author with a deep knowledge of the history, culture, and religion of the Jewish people
Everybody’s Holocaust? Tova Reich’s Satirical Approach to Shoah Business and the Cult of Victimhood
This paper sets out to demonstrate the changes that post-Holocaust fiction has been undergoing since around the turn of the new millennium. It analyzes the highly innovative and often provocative approaches to the Holocaust and its memory found in Tova Reich’s novel My Holocaust—a scathing satire on the personal and institutional exploitation of Holocaust commemoration, manifested in the commodification of the historical trauma in what has been termed “Shoah business”. The novel can be seen as a reaction to the increasing appropriation of the Holocaust by popular culture. This paper focuses on Reich’s critical response to the cult of victimhood and the unhealthy competition for Holocaust primacy, corresponding with the growth of a “victim culture”. It also explores other thematic aspects of the author’s satire—the abuse of the term “Holocaust” for personal, political and ideological purposes; attempts to capitalize on the suffering of millions of victims; the trivialization of this tragedy; conflicts between particularists and universalists in their attitude to the Shoah; and criticism of Holocaust-centered Judaism. The purpose of this paper is to show how Tova Reich has enriched post-Holocaust fiction by presenting a comic treatment of false victimary discourse, embodied by a fraudulent survivor and a whole gallery of inauthentic characters. This paper highlights the novel’s originality, which enables it to step outside the frame of traditional Holocaust fiction
