Neonatal umbilical inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors represent a tumor class of intermediate malignant potential predominantly seen in children and adolescents. Here is the first description of an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor at the umbilicus of a neonate. In neonates the main sites of presentation are equally distributed between the thoracic and the abdominal region. In a third of the neonates the tumor is identified on an antenatal scan. The preferred treatment option is resection of the tumor. Spontaneous regression has been described.Keywords: inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor, neonatal tumor, surgical resection, umbilicu

The development of experimental chamber and methodological approach for gas-phase hydrogen permeation study

In this work, the development of an experimental chamber and a technique for conducting experiments to study the permeation of hydrogen through metal membranes using an automated complex Gas Reaction Controller are realized. This complex makes it possible to carry out experiments to study the hydrogen permeation with the following parameters: hydrogen inlet pressure up to 50 atmospheres; the temperature in the chamber is from -30 °С to 1000 °С. The sample size is limited to 10 mm. The procedure for calculating the diffusion coefficient, based on the Fick equation, is presented in work. The study of the hydrogen permeation in a titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V is presented in this research

Разработка программных средств для выявления нарушений в сфере государственных закупок

Работа посвящена разработке программных средств, позволяющих осуществлять извлечение данных, обработку и их анализ для автоматизации поиска возможных случаев конфликта интересов у заказчика и поставщика. В результате выполнения исследования были разработаны программные средства, позволяющие частично решить задачу автоматизации поиска нарушений, связанных с конфликтом интересов заказчика и поставщика в сфере государственных закупок, что позволяет значительно сократить пространство поиска нарушений.The work is devoted to the development of software tools that allow data extraction, processing and analysis to automate the search for possible conflicts of interest between the customer and the supplier. Compositional mapping of surfaces in atomic force microscopy

We propose a method for mapping the composition of a surface by using an amplitude modulation atomic force microscope operated without tip-surface mechanical contact. The method consists in exciting the first two modes of the microcantilever. The nonlinear dynamics of the tip motion, the coupling of its first two modes, and the sensitivity of the second mode to long-range attractive forces allows us to use this mode to probe compositional changes while the signal from the first mode is used to image the sample surface. We demonstrate that the second mode has a sensitivity to surface force variations below 10−11 N.The authors acknowledge helpful discussions with A. San Paulo. Activating online English learning strategies

As university is developing as a participant of 5-100 Russian Academic Excellence Project the demand for research and teaching staff equipped with English skills and enabled to learn and master English on their own arises. The training course Activating Online English Learning Strategies within Tomsk polytechnic university (TPU) in-house English training provision was designed with the purpose to equip university research and teaching staff with strategies to plan, organise and run their own independent studies as well as to provide assistance to those research and teaching staff who design and deliver science-based courses through the medium of English so that they can revamp and offer the system of independent studies to their students within topics of English for academic purposes without putting extra workload onto face-to-face sessions but rather balancing English as medium of teaching and learning and content studies in their classes
