'In dem Beitrag werden einige methodische Probleme bei der Analyse politischer Wahlen diskutiert, die fast unvermeidlich auftreten, wenn die Einflussstärken einzelner Wählermotive auf Wahlentscheidung und Wahlausgang voneinander separiert und punktgenau bestimmt werden sollen. Als ein Weg, diese Probleme zu entschärfen und die Sicherheit der substantiellen Deutungen zu erhöhen, wird vorgeschlagen, vermehrt längsschnittlich erhobene Daten heranzuziehen.' Der Kandidat als Politiker, Mensch und Mann: ein Instrument zur differenzierten Erfassung von Kandidatenorientierungen und seine Anwendung auf die Analyse des Wählerverhaltens bei der Bundestagswahl 1998

'In diesem Aufsatz wird ein Instrument zur differenzierten Erfassung von Kandidatenorientierungen vorgestellt, das in der Nachwahlstudie zur Bundestagswahl 1998 zum Einsatz kam. Mit Hilfe dieses Instruments wird gezeigt, daß die Wahlentscheidung bei der Bundestagswahl am 27. September 1998 nicht zuletzt auch durch die Wahrnehmung unpolitischer, persönlicher Eigenschaften der beiden Kanzlerkandidaten Helmut Kohl und Gerhard Schröder beeinflußt wurde.' (Autorenreferat)'In this article we present an instrument with which orientations towards political candidates can be measured in a differentiated manner. This Instrument has been part of the German Post Election Study 1998. Using this Instrument, it is shown that voter's choice in September 1998 was in fact influenced by the perception of nonpolitical, personal qualities of both chancellor candidates, i. e. Das Wölfchen und die fünf Clementinen: die Wahrnehmung des Privatlebens der beiden Spitzenkandidaten bei der Landtagswahl in Nordrhein-Westfalen vom 14. Mai 2000

'In diesem Beitrag wird erstens untersucht, in welchem Umfang die Wahlberechtigten bei der nordrhein-westfälischen Landtagswahl vom 14. Mai 2000 über das Privatleben der beiden Spitzenkandidaten, Wolfgang Clement von der SPD und Jürgen Rüttgers von der CDU, informiert waren. Es werden, zweitens, die Determinanten des Informationsgrads zum Privatleben von Politikern beleuchtet. Drittens wird geprüft, inwieweit sich die Bewertung des Privatlebens von Politikern auf deren Gesamtbeurteilung auswirkt.' Secondly, it is investigated which determinants are able to account for the amount of information on the candidates' family life. Effect of Processing Temperature on the Chemical Composition and Antioxidant Activity of Vaccinium Arctostaphylos Fruit and Their Jam

Growing V. arctostaphylos in Turkey is a substantial food, but information about its antioxidant activities is scarce. Other pharmacological properties of V. arctostaphylos, specifically antioxidant activity, contents of total phenolic, total flavonoid, total anthocyanin and ascorbic acid, are also not well explored. This study was designed to explore the in vitro antioxidant activities of ethanol extracts and chemical compositions such as ascorbic acid, total phenols, flavonoids and anthocyanins in V. arctostaphylos fruit and their jam (VAJ). Antioxidant activity, total phenolics, flavonoids, anthocyanins and ascorbic acid content changed during processing of jam depends on temperature. The results obtained in this study indicate that V. arctostaphylos fruit and their jam are potential sources of natural antioxidant
