    Status Anthropometric Parameters And Body Composition Of Students Of The Military Department At UK FTVS In Prague

    Cílem našeho sledování bylo měření vybraných antropometrických charakteristik, resp. stanovení somatotypu, analýza aktuálního tělesného složení u studentů Vojenského oboru (VO) UK FTVS v Praze a srovnání s obdobnými studiemi. Soubor tvořilo celkem 22 probandů, muži ve věkovém rozmezí 19–27 let (průměrný věk = 22,9 ± 2,6 let, tělesná výška = 179,9 ± 6,0 cm, tělesná hmotnost = 76,8 ± 7,0 kg, BMI = 23,8 ± 1,5 kg.m–2). Z hlediska zjištěného průměrného somatotypu (1,7 – 7,3 – 2,5) mají studenti VO velmi dobré předpoklady k všeobecné tělesné výkonnosti. K analýze tělesného složení byla použita BIA-Tanita MC 980 (celotělová a segmentální analýza). Studenti VO vykazovali vysoký podíl tukuprosté hmoty (70,5 ± 6,1 kg) a nízké zastoupení tělesného tuku (8,3 ± 3,0 %). Autoři zdůrazňují důležitost sledování i dalších parametrů tělesného složení, např. celková tělesná voda (TBW), extracelulární voda (ECW), intracelulární voda (ICW), segmentální analýza svalové hmoty a tělesného tuku.The aim of our study was the measurement of selected anthropometric variables, respectively determining somatotype, body composition analysis of students in the Military Department (MD) of UK FTVS in Prague and to compare the results with similar studies. The group consisted of 22 male subjects ranging in age from 19–27 years (mean age = 22,9 ± 2,6 years, height = 179,9 ± 6,0 cm, weight = 76,8 ± 7,0 kg, BMI = 23,8 ± 1,5 kg.m–2). In terms of measured average somatotype (1,7 – 7,3 – 2,5), the MD students had very good preconditions for general physical fitness. We used BIA-Tanita MC 980 for the body composition analysis (whole body and segmental analysis). The MD students showed a high proportion of lean body mass (70,5 ± 6,1 kg) and low proportion of fat mass (8,3 ± 3,0 %).     Cílem studie bylo zhodnotit parametry tělesného složení a jejich vztah k funkčním parametrům u rekreačních triatlonistů. Soubor tvořilo celkem 16 mužů ve věkovém rozmezí 29–47 let (průměrný věk 34,7 ± 5,4 let, výška 181,2 ± 4,7 cm, hmotnost 79,3 ± 5,6 kg, BMI 24,4 ± 2,0 kg.m-2, tělesný tuk 15,5 ± 3,6 %, FFM 67,0 ± 3,9 kg, VO2 max 57,4 ± 7,1 ml.kg-1.min-1, Vmax 15,4 ± 1,3 km.h-1, SFmax 184,1 ± 7,4 min-1). Šetření se zaměřilo na analýzu tělesného složení (BIA In Body 3.0) a aerobní zdatnost (VO2 max, Vmax, SF max). Nalezli jsme významný vztah VO2 max a procenta tělesného tuku (r = - 0,78, p < 0,05), Vmax a procenta tělesného tuku (r = - 0,534, p < 0,05).The aim of this study was to evaluate the body composition parameters and their relationship to functional parameters in recreational triathletes.     Precontest Weight Loss And Its Effect On Body Composition

    Cílem naší studie bylo sledování změn jednotlivých komponent tělesného složení v důsledku redukce tělesné hmotnosti u judistů. Tato předsoutěžní redukce hmotnosti je obecně v úpolových sportech velmi častá a mnohdy i velmi výrazná, což může mít negativní dopad nejen na výkon, ale i zdraví závodníka. Sledovaný soubor tvořilo 11 judistů ve věku 17 – 27 let patřících do reprezentace České republiky. Celkově se měření parametrů tělesného složení skládalo ze dvou částí, první část probíhala před redukcí tělesné hmotnosti, tedy za běžné hmotnosti probandů, druhá část potom na konci redukce tělesné hmotnosti. K měření tělesného složení byl použit multifrekvenční bioimpedanční analyzér BIA 2000 – M. Z výsledků naší studie vyplývá, že rychlá intenzivní redukce hmotnosti se projeví v různé míře ve všech parametrech složení těla. U daného souboru došlo ke snížení tělesné hmotnosti v průměru o 4,7 % (průměrně o 3,8 kg), přičemž hmotnostní úbytek se pohyboval v rozmezí od 1,6 kg do 8,1 kg. Největší změny v jednotlivých parametrech tělesného složení jsme zaznamenali u extracelulární tekutiny (ECW), kde došlo k poklesu tohoto parametru v průměru o 13,8 %, přičemž celková tělesná voda (TBW) se snížila o 6,0 %. Došlo také ke snížení množství tuku o 13,2 %, množství extracelulární hmoty (ECM) o 9,8 %, poměr ECM/BCM se snížil o 8,9 % a množství tukuprosté hmoty (FFM) kleslo o 4,0 %. Pouze u intracelulární tekutiny (ICW) jsme zaznamenali mírný vzestup o 1,4 %, což může být zapříčiněno redistribucí tělních tekutin. Změny v jednotlivých parametrech tělesného složení byly statisticky i věcně významné.The aim of our study was to monitor changes in individual components of body composition due to reduction in body weight in judo players. This pre-contest weight reduction is very common in combat sports and it can have negative impact not only on performance but also on health. The research group consisted of 11 judo players, aged between 17-27 years from the Czech Republic. The measurement of body composition had two parts; the first was before body weight reduction and the second part at the end of body weight reduction. For the measurement of body composition, we used multifrequency bioimpedance analyzer BIA 2000 - M. The results of our study show that rapid intensive weight reduction is reflected in varying degrees in all parameters of body composition. We noticed a reduction of body weight by an average of 4.7% (approximately 3.8 kg), the weight loss ranged from 1.6 kg to 8.1 kg. The greatest changes in the parameters of body composition were detected in the extracellular water (ECW), there was a decrease of this parameter on average by 13.8 %, while total body water (TBW) decreased by 6.0 %. There was also a reduction in the amount of body fat by 13.2 %. The amount of extracellular mass (ECM) decreased by 9.8 %, the ratio of ECM/BCM by 8.9 % and the amount of fat-free mass (FFM) decreased by 4.0 %. Only in intracellular water (ICW), was there a slight increase by 1.4 %, which may be due to the redistribution of body fluids.     Anthropometric and somatotype differences between C1 paddlers who were and were not selected for the Czech national team

    The objective of this study was to determine the anthropometric and somatotype differences between elite single-canoeists (C1) included in the white-water slalom Czech national team (NT) (n = 5) and others (n = 12) who did not qualify for the national team (DNQ) leading up to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero, 2016. All paddlers were measured using a battery of 40 anthropometric parameters in one day, 4 weeks before competing in the Czech national selection races. The NT racers had a significantly (p < 0.05) greater circumference of the forearm (27.8 ± 0.6 vs. 26.8 ± 1.4) and upper arm (35.60 ± 1.5 vs. 33.5 ± 1.7) for the dominant paddling arm, as well as a greater chest circumference (98.3 ± 2.4 vs. 93.9 ± 2.3). Additionally, the sum of triceps, scapular, calf, and supraspinal skinfolds were significantly less in NT. There were no significant differences in height (p = 0.14), body mass (p = 0.18) or circumferences of the lower extremities (p = 0.09–0.32). Somatotype was statistically similar (p = 0.06–0.13), but practically different (NT = 1.4–5.6–2.3; DNQ = 1.6–4.6–3.1) such as body fat percentage (NT = 7.5 ± 2.3; DNQ = 9.1 ± 1.6). Based on the results of this study we can recommend that single-canoeists seeking to achieve elite performance should participate in training that focuses on maximizing the musculature of the upper limbs and chest while maintaining minimal body fat. The current data also shows that experience likely plays a role in national team selection, as NT were an average of 5.5 years older than DNQ
