    Modeling of Thermal Modes of the Reflux Condenser of the Absorption Refrigeration Unit

    Currently, developers of modern refrigeration equipment, in accordance with the plans of the UN, are moving to natural refrigerants (hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide and ammonia) that do not have an adverse technological impact on the ecosystem of the planet. In domestic refrigeration technology, one of the options is absorption refrigeration units, the working body of which is an aqueous ammonia mixture with the hydrogen addition. Having a number of unique advantages over compression analogs, absorption systems are characterized by lower energy characteristics.As the analysis shows, the maximum thermodynamic losses in the absorption aggregates are concentrated in the generating unit when the ammonia is evaporated, it is purified from water vapor and transported to the evaporator. In this connection, the mathematical modeling of the thermal regimes of the reflux condenser is performed, which is responsible for purification and transportation of ammonia vapor.Modeling is carried out on standard designs of absorption refrigeration units taking into account reasonable assumptions and results of own experimental researches. A cellular model is used. Stationary operating modes are modeled due to the high thermal inertia of the processes in the reflux condenser.As a result, the perspective of the thermal insulation installation throughout the reflux section is shown, which makes it possible to increase the energy efficiency by 17 ... 22

    Stigmatization as a Barrier to Help-Seeking Among Individuals Who Engage in Non-Suicidal Self-Injury

    Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is the deliberate destruction of body tissue without the intent to commit suicide. The present study applied public stigma, self stigma, and secrecy of Modified Labeling Theory to NSSI help seeking and psychological well-being. Results from 576 adult women indicate that satisfaction with mental health providers is higher than with medical providers, that stigma was not higher among those who haven\u27t sought help, and that past and future help seeking are related. Neither public nor self stigma predicted help-seeking, and the relationship between stigma and psychological well-being is not mediated by secrecy. The most salient constructs associated with helps seeking were secrecy and desire to stop self-harm. Future directions and clinical implications are discussed

    Аналіз онтогенетичної та віталітетної структури ценопопуляцій Scilla bifolia l. на території Сумського геоботанічного округу

    Aim: to establish typical features of ontogenetic and vitality structures of Scilla bifolia coenopopulations in different phytocenoses in the Sumy geobotanical region, to evaluate the dynamics of these structure types in the period 2015–2016 years.Methods: Common geobotanical methods were used at the research. For the determination of ontogenetic spectrums of Scilla bifolia cenopopulations was used ANONS 6 non-commercial program, and for the determination of vitality spectrums and quality types of coenopopulations was used VITAL non-commercial program, elaborated by Y.A. Zlobin.Result: ontogenetic spectrums of all studied Scilla bifolia coenopopulations are bimodal by the one peak on juvenile or immature individuals and the other peak on young generative individuals. According to T.O. Rabotnov classification, all coenopopulations in 2015 were invasive, and in 2016 P1 and P2 remained invasive and P3 became normal. According to L.O. Zhukova classification, all Scilla bifolia coenopopulations in both 2015 and 2016 represented the normal group, and according to L.V. Zhyvotovsky classification, they are all young, because ∆/ω ratio for the period of researches in Scilla bifolia coenopopulations corresponded to the diapason from 0,06/0,20 to 0,18/0,52.As to the vitality analysis of Scilla bifolia coenopopulations, two qualitative types of this variety coenopopulations are presented: prospering and balanced.The common feature of the vitality structure of all coenopopulations Scilla bifolia is rather low (up to 13 %) part of individuals of the mean («b») vitality class. For coenopopulations P1 and P3 during two years is typical the predominance of high vitality (class «а») individuals.Conclusions within the Sumy geobotanical region the typical feature of Scilla bifolia coenopopulations is similar ontogenetic spectrums. Active renewal processes and intensive introduction in forest groups are inherent to them.Vitality structure of Scilla bifolia coenopopulations changes at the transfer from one phytocenosis to another. It is an evidence of realization of the ability to adaptation and to adjustment to growth conditionsВизначено онтогенетичну структуру ценопопуляцій Scilla bifolia та проведено її інтегральну оцінку. Визначено віталітетну структуру трьох ценопопуляцій Scilla bifolia на території Сумського геоботанічного округу. Зроблено висновки про онтогенетичну та віталітетну структури ценопопуляцій Scilla bifolia, визначено перспективи подальших фітопопуляційних досліджень даного виду в типових лісових угрупованнях досліджуваного району.

    Using an unquenched lattice potential to calculate the spectrum of the bottomonium system, we demonstrate numerically that the effect of pair creation is to produce termination of hadronic Regge trajectories, in contrast to the Veneziano model and the vast majority of phenomenological generalizations.     For the five cenopopulations of Lunaria rediviva, which grow in broadleaved forests of the Sumy geobotanical region, an ontogenetic structure was established and its integral estimation was carried out. For these cenopopulations, the vital structure is also defined. It has been determined that the four cenopopulations are balanced by virtue of their vital characteristics, and one cenopopulation is prosperous. On the basis of the integrated consideration of the signs of ontogenetic and vital structure, a generalization was made regarding the state of the studied cenopopulations and the location conditions were determined which are most favorable for their existence. Prospects for further phytopopulation studies of this species in forest groups of the studied region are outlined.Для п’яти ценопопуляцій Lunaria rediviva L., що зростають у широколистяних лісах Сумського геоботанічного округу, установлено онтогенетичну структуру та проведено її інтегральну оцінку. Для цих ценопопуляцій також визначено віталітетну структуру. З’ясовано, що за віталітетними характеристиками чотири ценопопуляції є врівноваженими, а одна – процвітаючою. На основі комплексного врахування ознак онтогенетичної та віталітетної структури зроблено узагальнення щодо стану досліджуваних ценопопуляцій і визначено найбільш сприятливі для їхнього існування місцезростання. Окреслено перспективи подальших фітопопуляційних досліджень цього виду в лісових угрупованнях досліджуваного регіону

    Історія фітопопуляційних досліджень у широколистяних лісах Сумського геоботанічного округу

    This article describes the history of phytopopulation studies in deciduous forests of Sumy geobotanical region. These studies were initiated and carried out by botanists of Sumy National Agrarian University – I. B. Sukhiy, M. G. Bashtoviy, V. I. Trotsenko, V. G. Sklyar under the guidance of Doctor of Biological Science, Professor Y. A. Zlobin since 1980. The main achievement of their research activities was to get detailed information about the status and dynamics of populations of several species of the vascular plants and the validation and improvement of methodology of the complex phytopopulation analysis on the research area. The objects of research these scientists were dominants, codominants and regrowth of woody plants and nemoral herbs. The priority of the further research was identified rare and endangered species of vascular plants on the research area. These researches were begun in 2014 in the deciduousforests in the Sumy geobotanical district. Allium ursinum L., Lunaria rediviva L.became the subject of studies. This plants were listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. Also Corydalis marschalliana Pers., Dentaria quinquefolia M. Bieb., Scilla bifolia L. were listed in the List of plants and mushrooms belonging to the special protection on the territory of Sumy region became the subject of studies.Повідомляється про історію фітопопуляційних досліджень у широколистяних лісах Сумського геоботанічного округу, що започатковані у 80-х рр. ХХ ст. й проводилися ботаніками Сумського національного аграрного університету під керівництвом доктора біологічних наук Ю. А. Злобіна (І. Б. Сухим, М. Г. Баштовим, В. І. Троценком, В. Г. Скляр). Серед головних досягнень їхньої наукової діяльності – отримання для досліджуваного регіону ґрунтовної інформації про стан і динаміку популяцій низки видів судинних рослин, а також апробація та вдосконалення методології комплексного фітопопуляційного аналізу. Об’єкти досліджень – домінанти, співдомінанти й підріст деревних рослин, а також неморальні трави. Пріоритетним напрямом подальших фітопопуляційних досліджень на території округу визначено вивчення рідкісних і зникаючих видів судинних рослин. Ці дослідження в широколистяних лісах регіону розпочато у 2014 р. Об’єктами досліджень стали Allium ursinum L., Lunaria rediviva L. – види, занесені до Червоної книги України, та Corydalis marschalliana Pers., Dentaria quinquefolia M. Bieb., Scilla bifolia L. – види, уключені до Списку рослин і грибів, що підлягають особливій охороні на території Сумської області

    Geomagnetic Survey Interpolation with the Machine Learning Approach

    This paper portrays the method of UAV magnetometry survey data interpolation. The method accommodates the fact that this kind of data has a spatial distribution of the samples along a series of straight lines (similar to maritime tacks), which is a prominent characteristic of many kinds of UAV surveys. The interpolation relies on the very basic Nearest Neighbours algorithm, although augmented with a Machine Learning approach. Such an approach enables the error of less than 5 percent by intelligently adjusting the Nearest Neighbour algorithm parameters. The method was pilot tested on geomagnetic data with Borok Geomagnetic Observatory UAV aeromagnetic survey data

    This article covers a nouveau idea of how to collect and handle geophysical data with a peer-to-peer network in near real-time. The text covers a brief introduction to the cause, the technology, and the particular case of collecting data from GNSS stations. We describe the proof-of-concept implementation that has been tested. The test was conducted with an experimental GNSS station and a data aggregation facility. In the test, original raw GNSS signal measurements were transferred to the data aggregation center and subsequently to the consumer. Our implementation utilized BitTorrent to communicate and transfer data. The solution could be used to establish the majority of data aggregation centers activities to provide fast, reliable, and transparent real-time data handling experience to the scientific community.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figure

    Pathways to Early Coital Debut for Adolescent Girls: A Recursive Partitioning Analysis

    This study examined pathways to early coital debut among early to middle adolescent girls in the United States. In a two-year longitudinal study of 104 adolescent girls, recursive partitioning (RP) analyses were conducted to examine the specific factors that were related to engaging in first intercourse by the 10th grade among adolescent girls who had not yet engaged in sexual intercourse by the 8th grade. RP analyses identified subsamples of girls who had low, medium, and high likelihoods of engaging in early coital debut based on six variables (i.e., school aspirations, early physical intimacy experiences, depression, body objectification, body image, and relationship inauthenticity). For example, girls in the lowest likelihood group (3% had engaged in sex by the 10th grade) reported no prior experiences with being touched under their clothes, low body objectification, high aspirations to complete graduate education, and low depressive symptoms; girls in the highest likelihood group (75% had engaged in sex by the 10th grade) also reported no prior experiences with being touched under their clothes, but had high levels of body objectification. The implications of these analyses for the development of female adolescent sexuality, as well as for advances in quantitative methods, are discussed
