(The article deals with the integrated study of composition and speech arrangement of textual matter in S. Fitzgerald’s
idiodiscourse. In accordance with this goal the main types of composition and speech form «description», in particular portrait, landscape and interior, were singled out and analyzed. The article concentrates on the ascertainment of S. Fitzgerald’s preferable means of their verbal expression, ways and methods of their syntactic arrangement as well as of the key features of his mental space. It was ascertained that peculiarity of composition and speech form «description» in S. Fitzgerald’s artistic
system consists in its constructive, modeling and sense potential. It carries thematic as well as implicit information, thus contributing to the creation of an integral image as well as to the recreation of the author’s vision of man, ideological and artistic concept of his works. It was established that S. Fitzgerald’s idiodiscourse is distinguished by functional psychological
portraits, landscapes and interiors based on the synthesis of romantic and realistic traditions of perception and representation of man and their surroundings, which enables the author to create descriptions that are, on the one hand, lyrical, metaphorical and associative, and on the other hand, authentic and objective. It was ascertained that S. Fitzgerald’s descriptions set off the subtle psychologism and dual character of the author’s mental space, make obvious its dynamics and movement towards
increasing expressionability and anthropocentrism as well as contribute to the recreation of American society in the XX
century and revelation of its representatives’ world-view and emotional state.
Superconductivity in Ropes of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes
We report measurements on ropes of Single Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWNT) in
low-resistance contact to non-superconducting (normal) metallic pads, at low
voltage and at temperatures down to 70 mK. In one sample, we find a two order
of magnitude resistance drop below 0.55 K, which is destroyed by a magnetic
field of the order of 1T, or by a d.c. current greater than 2.5 microA. These
features strongly suggest the existence of superconductivity in ropes of SWNT.Comment: Accepted for publication in Phys. Rev. Let

Conductivity and Atomic Structure of Isolated Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes
We report associated high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM)
and transport measurements on a series of isolated multiwalled carbon
nanotubes. HRTEM observations, by revealing relevant structural features of the
tubes, shed some light on the variety of observed transport behaviors, from
semiconducting to quasi-metallic type. Non Ohmic behavior is observed for
certain samples which exhibit "bamboo like" structural defects. The resistance
of the most conducting sample, measured down to 20 mK, exhibits a pronounced
maximum at 0.6 K and strong positive magnetoresistance.Comment: 4 pages, 4 eps figure

Magnetic field resistant quantum interferences in bismuth nanowires based Josephson junctions
We investigate proximity induced superconductivity in micrometer-long bismuth
nanowires con- nected to superconducting electrodes with a high critical field.
At low temperature we measure a supercurrent that persists in magnetic fields
as high as the critical field of the electrodes (above 11 T). The critical
current is also strongly modulated by the magnetic field. In certain samples we
find regular, rapid SQUID-like periodic oscillations occurring up to high
fields. Other samples ex- hibit less periodic but full modulations of the
critical current on Tesla field scales, with field-caused extinctions of the
supercurrent. These findings indicate the existence of low dimensionally, phase
coherent, interfering conducting regions through the samples, with a subtle
interplay between orbital and spin contributions. We relate these surprising
results to the electronic properties of the surface states of bismuth, strong
Rashba spin-orbit coupling, large effective g factors, and their effect on the
induced superconducting correlations.Comment: 5 page

One-Pot Synthesis of Copper Iodide-Polypyrrole Nanocomposites
A novel one-pot chemical synthesis of functional copper iodide-polypyrrole composites,
CuI-PPy, has been proposed. The fabrication process allows the formation of nanodimensional metal
salt/polymer hybrid structures in a fully controlled time- and concentration-dependent manner.
The impact of certain experimental conditions, viz., duration of synthesis, sequence of component
addition and concentrations of the intact reagents on the structure, dimensionality and yield of
the end-product was evaluated in detail. More specifically, the amount of marshite CuI within the
hybrid composite can be ranged from 60 to 90 wt.%, depending on synthetic conditions (type and
concentration of components, process duration). In addition, the conditions allowing the synthesis
of nano-sized CuI distributed inside the polypyrrole matrix were found. A high morphological
stability and reproducibility of the synthesized nanodimensional metal-polymer hybrid materials
were approved. Finally, the electrochemical activity of the formed composites was verified by cyclic
voltammetry studies. The stability of CuI-PPy composite deposited on the electrodes was strongly
affected by the applied anodic limit. The proposed one-pot synthesis of the hybrid nanodimensional
copper iodide-polypyrrole composites is highly innovative, meets the requirements of Green Chemistry and is potentially useful for future biosensor development. In addition, this study is expected to
generally contribute to the knowledge on the hybrid nano-based composites with tailored properties

2D/3D Metallic Nano-objects Self-Organized in an Organic Molecular Thin Film
We present the fabrication and investigation of the properties of nanocomposite structures consisting of two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) metallic nano-objects self-organized on the surface and inside of organic molecular thin-film copper tetrafluorophthalocyanine (CuPcF4). Metallic atoms, deposited under ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) conditions onto the organic ultrathin film, diffuse along the surface and self-assemble into a system of 2D metallic overlayers. At the same time, the majority of the metal atoms diffuse into the organic matrix and self-organize into 3D nanoparticles (NPs) in a well-defined manner. The evolution of the morphology and electronic properties of such structures as a function of nominal metal content is studied under UHV conditions using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), and photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) techniques. Using HR-TEM, we have observed the periodicity of atomic planes of individual silver NPs. The steady formation of agglomerates from individual single nanocrystallites with intercrystallite boundaries is observed as well. PES reveals generally weak chemical interactions between silver and the organic matrix and n-doping of CuPcF4 at the initial stages of silver deposition, which is associated with charge transfer from the 2D wetting layer on the basis of core-level spectra shift analysis.
