    THE MEASUREMENT MODEL OF INTRAPERSONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS CONSTRUCTS BASED ON CHARACTER EDUCATION IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

    The objective of this study is to test the constructs of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills based on character education in elementary school, and to evaluate the validity of indicators, and its constructs reliability. The population of this study were the fifth grade students of the elementary schools in Yogyakarta Special Region, including: Yogyakarta, Sleman, Bantul and Gunungkidul. The sample size was 464 students from 15 elementary schools. The data were collected by using a questionnaire and analyzed by using Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The results of this study are as follows that the constructs of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills based on character education in elementary schools has fulfilled the criteria of validity, reliability, and goodness of fit statistic. Thus, the construct of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills can be used to develop the assessment model of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills based on character education in elementary school. It can be used to detect the level of achievement of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills of elementary school students

    Perbandingan Keterampilan Intrapersonal dan Interpersonal Berbasis Pendidikan Karakter Siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kasihan Bantul

    Students’ achievement can be shaped by three types of ability (capacity); academic, vocational and generic (personal ability). It appears that generic ability has predomi- nantly determined students’ achieve- ment, and therefore providing nurturing personal abaility is necessary. The objectives of this research are twofold: to study both intra and interpersonal skills of the students; to study similarities and differences the level of intra- and inter- personal skills of the students based on their sex, parent’s occupation, the level of class, and the order number of children in the family. The research was carried out in State Basic School of Kasihan, Bantul. The subjects of this research are 79 students in the grade IV, V, VI. This reserach concludes that there are 8 types of intrapersonal skills: self-awareness, self- confidence, effort to handle self-weak- ness, responsibilities, openness, assertiveness, self dicision making, effort to hadle stressful, and courage to express personal feelings. The lowest ability is self-confidence, and the highest is the courage to express personal feelings. There 8 types in interpersonal: easy to socialize, helpful, emphaty, tolerance, concern with the environment, harmonious, democratic, paying attention to others, and ability to resolve the conflict. The lowest ability is emphaty or effort to understand the others, while the highest is acting democratically, ability to resolve the conflicts, and to pay attention to the other

    Peningkatan Kompetensi Guru TPA LANSIA melalui Metode UMMI dan Metode 10 Jam Belajar Membaca Al-Quran

    The difficulty experienced by the board members of the Khoirunnisa Taklim Council in managing the elderly TPA is the low motivation and ability to read Al-Quran in elderly women. They complained that the Iqro method used was considered too serious and monotonous so that the mothers had difficulty and lack of enthusiasm in learning to read the Koran. Thus, this service program aims to introduce the Ummi method and the 10-hour learning method of reading Al-Quran for elderly TPA teachers. This service program method is carried out in four stages, namely planning, implementation, technical assistance, and evaluation of service success. The results of this service program show that; (1) Workshops on the Qur'anic learning method using the Ummi method and the 10-hour method have been able to improve the insight and skills of elderly TPA teachers; (2) The 10-hour Quran reading learning method is more desirable than the UMMI method because it is free and easy to implement. Meanwhile, Ummi's method was considered too procedural and expensive to follow; (3) The 10-hour learning method for reading the Koran is proven to be effective in increasing the motivation of elderly mothers in learning to read the Koran because the material is easily accessible, shared, and practical. The implication of this service for the community is that in learning Al-Quran, it must prioritize the elements of fun, convenience, and according to the age of the students

    Character Education Concepts and Values in The Teaching of Gratitude (A Critical Analysis of Major Qur’anic Exegesis Texts)

    This paper aimed to explore and find the concept and content of character values of being grateful. This research was library research using qualitative data types. The primary sources were Tafsr al-Qurān al-'Aẓῑm, Tafsr al-Fakhri ar-Rāzi, Tafsr al-Maraghi, at-Tafsῑr al-Munῑr, Tafsr al-Karῑm ar-Raḥmān fā Tafsῑr Kalām, and Tafsir al-Azhar. At the same time, secondary sources were books or journals related to the concept of gratitude and the value of character education. Data from sources were collected using documentation, then analyzed using subjective thematic interpretation methods and objective hermeneutics. The results showed that the concept of character education in the teaching of gratitude in QS. Ibrahim (14): 7 is both targῑb (motivation) and tarhῑb (threat). This concept will make humans remain in the circle of goodness, who is always patient and grateful to Allah SWT. There are nine values of character education in the teaching of gratitude: trustworthiness, qanā'ah, creativity, hard work, trustworthiness, optimism, caring for others, tawaduk, and istiqamah. These values will be attached to someone who makes gratitude a habit that can be both a motivation and a threat (targῑb wa tarhῑb). These nine character values will have implications for increasing devotion to Allah SWT and increasing compassion for fellow creatures

    The purpose of this study was to reveal the working stress of female teachers in Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta. The research type was qualitative descriptive research with phenomenological paradigm, ethnographic model, and cultural-psychological approach. The research method was depth interview. The research subjects were female married teachers who had children and experienced work-ing stress. The results: first, the women became teachers because of self-actual-ization, socialization, income and happiness. Second, the forms of stress; physical and psychological. Third, cause of stress; (1) simultaneous tasks of home and office, (2) strict discipline, (3) career demand, (4) picking up the child, (5) having a baby, (6) authoritarian boss, (7) uncomfortable office environment, (8) job position promotion. Fourth, gender inequality factors: (1) double burden, (2) being degraded (3) irrational assumption to female teachers, (4) psychological violence or verbal abuse (5) marginalization. Fifth, solution: (1) mutual respect (2) patient, open, responsible, caring, or avoidance of closeness to the hard and painful character, (3) still working in mild pain and just confiding to close friend, but asking permission when having ill, (5) making a priority job

Sejarah kontemporer juga telah membuktikan bahwa sejumlah kaum perempuan memiliki kelebihan yang sama dengan laki-laki, bahkan sebagian melebihi laki-laki, sehingga pekerjaan atau tugas yang sementara dianggap hanya monopoli kaum laki-laki menjadi terbantah dengan sendirinya. Ini semua membuktikan bahwa perempuan adalah sama dengan laki-laki. Kenyataan ini semestinya menjadi keniscayaan, sehingga segala tradisi, ajaran, dan pandangan yang merendahkan, mendiskriminasikan, dan melecehkan perempuan harus dihapuskan. Dengan demikian, perlu lebih dikembangkan pemikiran dasar tafsiran adalah prinsip-prinsip ideal Islam tentang keadilan, kesetaraan, kemaslahatan, dan kerahmatan untuk semua, tanpa dibatasi perbedaan jenis kelarnin laki-laki atau perempuan

    Penggunaan Gadget dan Peran Pola Asuh Orang Tua Terhadap Akhlak Pelajar

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan gadget dan peran pola asuh orang tua terhadap akhlak pelajar di SMP Muhammadiyah se Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan model korelasional. Sampel 280 siswa di SMP Muhammadiyah se Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Teknis analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan program bantuan AMOS. Hasil analisis CFA memenuhi kriteria Goodness of Fit yaitu nilai Chi-square 30,312, Sig-Probability 0,175, CMIN/DF 1,263, GFI 0,979, CFI 0,992, TLI 0,985, NFI 0,964, RMSEA 0,031dan RMR 0,124, menunjukkan bahwa model penelitian yang diajukan dinyatakan fit. Hasil penelitian ini yang dianalisis dengan model SEM ditemukan bahwa: Pertama, penggunaan gadget memberikan  berpengaruh yang signifikan terhadap akhlak (sig.p 0,001 dan loading factor 0,20). Kedua, variabel pola asuh orang tua juga memberikan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap akhlak (sig.p 0,001 dan loading factor 0,35). Temuan dari penelitian ini bahwa penggunaan gadget peserta didik dan pola asuh orang tua yang baik akan memberikan pengaruh terhadap akhlak

    THE PRINCIPAL’S INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP ABILITY IN STRENGTHENING THE CHARACTER OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF MUHAMMADIYAH

    Purpose of the study: This study aims to determine the ability of the principal in carrying out Instructional Leadership to improve teachers' teaching performance so that it has an impact on improving the character of students. Methodology: The type of this research is evaluative descriptive. The subjects selected by purposive sampling and triadic included 15 principals, 150 teachers, and 450 students in Yogyakarta. The data collection techniques using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis techniques using mixed methods. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and linear regression. In contrast, the qualitative data were analyzed using Miler and Huberman's theory, which included four stages: reduction, display, triangulation, and conclusion. Main Findings: First, mild juvenile delinquency is still practiced by students. Secondly, character strengthening is done through an extracurricular program, orderly book socialization, cooperation with external parties. Third, the instructional leadership ability of principals is still low. Fourth, the magnitude of the influence of Instructional Leadership in changing students' characters obtained a percentage of 12%, while other factors influence 78 %; and the inhibiting factor for instructional leadership of school principals is the lack of collaboration between schools and parents. Applications of this study: The results of this study can provide significant benefits in the discipline of character education and educational psychology. The school leaders can use the findings in this study to tackle juvenile delinquency in junior high school. Novelty/Originality of this study: It turns out that to reduce and eliminate juvenile delinquency is not enough just with Instructional Leadership. The most significant factor that can help minimize adolescent familiarization is the existence of good cooperation between parents and teachers or the school

    Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Kesadaran Ibu Melakukan Pemeriksaan Pap Smear di BPS Nurjanti Sewon Bantul Yogyakarta

    Kanker yang terbanyak dialami perempuan di Indonesia adalah kanker serviks yaitu 36% dari semua kanker yang diderita perempuan. 70% ditemukan dalam tahap lanjut. Peningkatan jumlah penderita kanker serviks disebabkan oleh keterlambatan dalam diagnosis sehingga pasien datang dalam kondisi lanjut, keadaan umum yang lemah, status social ekononomi yang rendah, serta keterbatasan sumberdaya, sarana, dan prasarana. Tingginya angka kematian penderita kanker serviks di Indonesia disebabkan karena sebagian besar penderita kanker serviks baru datang berobat setelah stadium lanjut, hal ini dikarenakan masih kurangnya kesadaran perempuan di Indonesia untuk mencegah dan mendeteksi secara dini kanker serviks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesadaran ibu melakukan pemeriksaan pap smear di BPS Nurjanti Sewon Bantul Yogyakarta tahun 2010. Penelitian ini menggunakan phenomenology yang merupakan penelitian induktif dengan metode pendekatan waktu retrospektif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini ada 10 informan. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Snowball sampling. Data penelitian diambil secara primer dengan menggunakan lembar pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa dari 10 responden, factor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesadaran ibu melakukan pap smear dibagi ke dalam 2 faktor yaitu factor internal yang terdiri dari pengetahuan dan kesadaran ibu melakukan pap smear dan factor eksternal yang terdiri dari keluarga, informasi, riwayat ibu, dan social masyarakat. Dari hasil tersebut, diharapkan bagi tenaga kesehatan khususnya bidan lebih optimal melakukan promosi kesehatan reproduksi yaitu deteksi dini kanker serviks dengan pemeriksaan Pap Smear
