The objective of this study is to examine the effect of human resource practices on service innovation in the context of Islamic banks. This study examines three dimensions of HRM practices: compensation, performance appraisal and participation

Θ(1) Time Algorithm for Master Selection in Ad-hoc Wireless Networks

    Get PDF
This paper details a hardware implementation of a distributed Θ(1) time algorithm allows to select dynamically the master device in ad-hoc or cluster-based networks in a constant time regardless the number of devices in the same cluster. The algorithm allows each device to automatically detect its own status; master or slave; based on identifier without adding extra overheads or exchanging packets that slow down the network. We propose a baseband design that implements algorithm functions and we detail the hardware implementation using Matlab/Simulink and Ettus B210 USRP. Tests held in laboratory prove that algorithm works as expected

    Enabling wireless in-band full-duplex

    Get PDF
This paper presents a baseband model and an enhanced implementation of the wireless full duplex analog method introduced by [1].Unlike usual methods based on hardware and software self- interference cancelation, the proposed design relies on FSK modulation. The principle is when the transmitter of a local end is sending data by modulating the carrier with the appropriate frequency deviation, its own receiver is checking if the remote transmitter is using the opposite deviation. Instead of architectures often used by both non-coherent and coherent receivers that require one filter (matched filter for coherent detection) for each frequency deviation, our design uses one mixer and one single integrator-decimator filter. We test our design using Universal Software Radio Peripheral as radio frequency front end and computer that implements the signal processing methods under free and open source software. We validate our solution experimentally and we show that in-band full duplex is feasible and synthesizable for wireless communications

    (1) time Parallel Agorithm for Finding 2D Convex Hull on a Reconfigurable Mesh Computer Architecture

    Get PDF
In this paper we propose a parallel algorithm in image processing in (1) time, intended for a parallel machine '' Reconfigurable Mesh Computer (RMC), of size n x n Elementary Processors (PE). The algorithm consists in determining the convex envelope of a two-level 2D image with a complexity in (1) time. The approach used is purely geometric. It is based solely on the projection of the coordinates of PEs retained in specific quadrants and on the application of the algorithm that determines the Min / Max in (1) time. This has reduced the complexity of the algorithm for determining the convex hull at (1) time

The review of heterogeneous design frameworks/Platforms for digital systems embedded in FPGAs and SoCs

Systems-on-a-chip integrate specialized modules to provide well-defined functionality. In order to guarantee its efficiency, designersare careful to choose high-level electronic components. In particular,FPGAs (field-programmable gate array) have demonstrated theirability to meet the requirements of emerging technology. However, traditional design methods cannot keep up with the speed andefficiency imposed by the embedded systems industry, so severalframeworks have been developed to simplify the design process of anelectronic system, from its modeling to its physical implementation. This paper illustrates some of them and presents a comparative studybetween them. Indeed, we have selected design methods of SoC(ESP4ML and HLS4ML, OpenESP, LiteX, RubyRTL, PyMTL,SysPy, PyRTL, DSSoC) and NoC networks on OCN chip (PyOCN)and in general on FPGA (PRGA, OpenFPGA, AnyHLS, PYNQ, andPyLog). The objective of this article is to analyze each tool at several levelsand to discuss the benefit of each in the scientific community. Wewill analyze several aspects constituting the architecture and thestructure of the platforms to make a comparative study of thehardware and software design flows of digital systems.

    On graded weakly JgrJ_{gr}-semiprime submodules

Let Γ\Gamma be a group, \Re be a Γ\Gamma-graded commutative ring with unity 11 and \Im a graded \Re-module. In this paper, we introduce the concept of graded weakly JgrJ_{gr}-semiprime submodules as a generalization of graded weakly semiprime submodules. We study several results concerning of graded weakly JgrJ_{gr}% -semiprime submodules. For example, we give a characterization of graded weakly JgrJ_{gr}-semiprime submodules. Also, we find some relations between graded weakly JgrJ_{gr}-semiprime submodules and graded weakly semiprime submodules. In addition, the necessary and sufficient condition for graded submodules to be graded weakly JgrJ_{gr}-semiprime submodules are investigated. A proper graded submodule UU of \Im is said to be a graded weakly JgrJ_{gr}-semiprime submodule of \Im if whenever rgh(),r_{g}\in h(\Re), mhh()m_{h}\in h(\Im) and nZn\in %TCIMACRO{\U{2124} }% %BeginExpansion \mathbb{Z} %EndExpansion ^{+} with 0rgnmhU0\neq r_{g}^{n}m_{h}\in U, then rgmhU+Jgr()r_{g}m_{h}\in U+J_{gr}(\Im), where Jgr()J_{gr}(\Im) is the graded Jacobson radical of $\Im.

The Perception of Staff Nurses and their Experience with the Critical Care Outreach Team in Oman: A Descriptive Correlational Study

    Get PDF
Previous research indicated the benefits of the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) in improving patients' health outcomes; however, in Oman, there is a dearth of evidence examining the perceptions of nurses regarding the Critical Care Outreach Team as well as its effectiveness. This study aimed to explore staff nurses' perceptions about the CCOT services in Oman and to explore the relationship between the staff's demographics (age, education, and years of work experience) and their call status to the CCOT services. A valid and reliable questionnaire that includes 19 items and a 5- point Likert scale format submitted online via Survey Monkey to the ward staff nurses who work in the area where Critical Care Outreach Team service is provided. One open-ended question was added to the questionnaire to collect qualitative data. SPSS was used to analyze the quantitative data while the qualitative data emerged to support the quantitative findings. A total of 91 participants completed the questionnaire; nurses perceived the CCOT as accessible, approachable and effective in recognizing deterioration, thereby reducing serious events; providing teaching and coaching to staff; helping in referring the patient to allied health and improving patient management on the ward. There was no significant correlation between participant demographic variables such as age (p = 0.616), gender (p = 0.370) or years of experience (p = 0.243) and educational level on the call status to CCOT services. The quantitative perception was supported and explained qualitatively by participants' direct quotations when they answered the open-ended question. It is concluded that nurses in Oman perceived CCOT positively, which indicates that the existence of CCOT in hospitals of Oman is necessary, important and effective in enhancing the patients' outcomes and helping provide teaching and couch for other nurses.  &nbsp
