This data brief examines the health care use and spending from 2010-2014 for people who are enrolled in consumer-driven health plans (CDHPs), and compares these trends to non-CDHP enrollees. Findings indicate that although fewer total dollars were spent on health care for CDHP enrollees, they had higher per capita out-of-pocket spending on deductibles, copays, and coinsurance

An Update on Gender Responsive Strategies - 2011

This Best Practices tool kit identifies research regarding practices that are considered promising, proven to be beneficial or "best practices" in the treatment of female ex-offenders on probation and parole. According to former director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Reginald Wilkinson, best practices range anywhere from practices which are empirically proven to be effective to strategies which demonstrate promise but have not yet been thoroughly evaluated. This document briefly summarizes four studies which outline effective strategies and particular aspects of working with women on probation and parole. Following this, there is a an annotated bibliography, featuring publications from the past five years which further examine the issue of women’s experiences with re-entry. IMPACT. 1: We have over 40 Community Partners from 18 counties in Central and Southeastern Ohio including representatives from churches, schools, nursing homes, philanthropy groups, OSU extension offices, county health departments and civic groups. -- 2. We provided funding, outreach and consultation services to 163 investigators and 160 community partners in 2015, including consultation with our three standing Community Engagement Advisory and Faculty Advisory Boards comprised of 66 faculty and community stakeholders in total. -- 3. Impacts of Affordable Childcare on Families

Child care affordability has been an issue within the United States for many years. The rising cost of child care has impacted families and the decisions made within their families. The cost of care has risen past an affordable percentage of take-home income in every state and the nation’s capital. Using literature from Marshall (2004;2021), Malik (2019:2021), and Blau (2003;2007), as well as from nonprofit organizations such as Child Care Aware, Children at Risk, and Children’s Defense Fund, this research builds upon their findings. This study examines how affordability affects families with decisions regarding child care for their children. In addition, those impacted by the rising costs address their opinions on what can and should be done by the government to address these issues of child care affordability. The findings of this research show that child care affordability affects families and that these families want more government involvement in child care funding
