The research method in this study is to use a qualitative approach through a review of the literature with the primary source coming from the Ministry of Finance, especially from the Warta Fiskal published by the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as other supporting sources. From data through literature, social protection programs and support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) show significant budget absorption development. While the health management program, sectoral support from ministries/agencies and local governments, and business incentives, the absorption is still low. The Government must pay attention to the implementation and effectiveness of the PC-PEN Program, including maintaining the most subordinate economic groups' consumption and giving priority to the distribution of stimulus funds to the sectors most affected by this pandemic. Get PDF
Indonesia had observed a drastic drop in its economic growth in 1998 after the monetary crisis in mid-1997 but grew back slowly starting in 1999. Since then, the Indonesian economy has been moving slowly with low growth. From this phenomenon, this study aims to see which sectors positively influence economic growth. This research uses a quantitative method in which a model of economic growth is built as a linear regression model in a time series. The economic growth model is formed based on the neoclassical production function approach from the supply side. The economic reforms in Indonesia significantly impacted economic growth, although they had a negative effect in the first ten years. Investment growth and defense spending have a positive influence on national economic growth. Meanwhile, non-defense budget growth did not affect economic growth during the ten years before and after the reform. From these results, the best way to increase Indonesia’s economic growth is to create an atmosphere that encourages both foreign and domestic investors who want to invest in Indonesia with conditions that are conducive for investors. ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF INDONESIAN DEFENSE BUDGET POLICY ON NATIONAL ECONOMIC GROWTH

    Get PDF
This study aims to show that budget policy is not only to strengthen defense equipment to the “minimum essential force”, but it should not be forgotten that budget policy also provide a multiplier effect on economic growth. The use of a good defense budget can be seen from the extent to which the budget affects the economic growth. This influence is tested by using a single equation of economic growth that is built from the supply side. Regression results of the quartile data of 1991-2010 show that the increase in the national defense budget turns out to have no effect on economic growth and gives negative externalities to the private sector. But, non-defense government budgets provide positive externalities to the private sector. This indicates that the non-defense budgets are able to provide a multiplier effect on the economy, but the defense budget has no effect on the economic sectors directly. So, the defense budget policies must give effect to the national economy, such as increased production with the development of the defense industry to meet the domestic needs of defense equipment
