Absorbing-boundary-condition method for drip-line nuclei

Absorbing-boundary-condition method and its applications to nuclear responses and breakup reactions are reported. The method facilitates calculations of the continuum states in the coordinate space of many degrees of freedom. Continuum Response and Reaction in Neutron-Rich Be Nuclei

We study E1 resonances, breakup and fusion reactions for weakly bound Be nuclei. The absorbing-boundary condition (ABC) is used to describe both the outgoing and incoming boundary conditions. Multidimensional inequality for current status of Japanese private companies' employees

In this paper, we show a method for measuring multidimensional inequality. We use a Bayesian method for a multivariate ordered probit model to obtain a single index, which we refer to as a probability associated with an individual's overall status, from a multivariate distribution representing a number of attributes. We evaluate multidimensional inequality by the Gini coefficient and the generalized entropy measure of inequality using this index. This method is used for the employee data of Japanese private companies, which include income and attributes related to subjective perception such as job satisfaction

　ある時代のある特定の時期に書かれ発表されたさまざまな文学テクストをながめたばあい、ときにジャンルさえ越えて、そこに流行語のようにいくつかのある特徴的な語や表現が時を同じくして出現してくることがある。それはもちろん作家（詩人）から作家（詩人）へのなんらかの影響関係がそこにあったからだとまずは考えられよう。しかしこれは必ずしもたんに一方から他方への単方向的な影響というのではなく、作家（詩人）たちのあいだで、いくつかの条件があわさって、ほとんど同時発生的にある共通ないし類似の語や表現が生まれたり用いられたりすることもあったのではないか、また、あくまで個々の作品から遡及的にしか見いだされぬとしても、そうした共通ないし類似の語や表現を生みだすことを可能にした、ある時代のある特定の時期に成立していたと想定される表現可能態の言語空間がそこに潜在していたのではないか―― 本稿は、その空間をピエール・ブルデューの用語を借りて「文学場」の名で呼んで、20 世紀初頭における日本の近代詩と19 世紀中葉におけるフランスの近代詩をそうした「文学場」という観点からとらえなおす試みである

Entanglement of the vacuum between left, right, future, and past spacetime states: The origin of entanglement-induced quantum radiation

The Minkowski vacuum state is expressed as an entangled state between the left and right Rindler wedges when it is constructed on the Rindler vacuum. In this paper, we further examine the entanglement structure and extend the expression to the future (expanding) and past (shrinking) Kasner spacetimes. This clarifies the origin of the quantum radiation produced by an Unruh–DeWitt detector in uniformly accelerated motion in the four-dimensional Minkowski spacetime. We also investigate the two-dimensional massless case where the quantum radiation vanishes but the same entanglement structure exists

The Influence of Investor Sentiment on the Formation of Golden-cross and Dead-cross

Abstract The so-ealled "golden-cross" and "dead-cross" are said to be useful signals to forecast market trends. In this paper, we focus on the Japanese stock market where gold-crosses and dead-crosses are empirically considered as useful investment signals. First, we examined the usefulness of these signals by using historical Japanese stock price data. The results confirmed that these crosses were useful as confirmatory signals for forecasting market trends. The results also showed that the minimum length of period (days) of useful moving averages is shorter in the case of golden-cross than in that of dead-cross. Second, we tried to identify the underlying reasons for the usefulness of the crosses. Because a model, which assumed all investors were rational financial experts, failed to explain the usefulness of the crosses, we were able to assume that the crosses reflected investors' irrationality or behavioral bias: conservativeness and representativeness about trends (Tversky and Kahneman 1974). We then developed a model that incorporated this bias. Based on simulations using this model, we identified the mechanism with which those crosses closely relate to investors' irrationality or behavioral bias. The analysis also revealed investors' tendency that they were convinced by a bull trend more easily and quickly than by a bear trend. This finding is in line with what is generally observed as investors' bull-bias in the Japanese stock market
