A study was conducted on the influence of growth media on development of Asparagus densiflorus 'Meyersii' at Horticultural Research Station, Yercaud during the years 2011-12. The pot experiment was laid out under open condition, with nine set of treatments comprising various combinations of soil, sand, FYM, vermicompost and microbial consortia (Azospirillum, phosphobacteria and Pseudomonas fluorescens). From among the media combinations used, the treatment involving Soil + Sand + FYM + Vermicompost (T3) @ 2:1:1:0.5 (670g+375g+375g+165g) was found to be the best substrate for vegetative and root characters like plant height, shoot number, leaflet number, leaflet length, leaflet width, root number, root length, bulb number, bulb length, bulb width and vase-life in Asparagus densiflorus 'Meyersii'

Reclamation of Dye Affected Soil at Tirupur Region by Using Vermitechnology, South India

Get PDF
Soil from the dye affected area is taken for various analysis. Similarly soil from the fertile land is also taken for analysis in the same region. Most of the soils polluted by heavy metals can be reclaimed using a number of expensive tactics that either remove the contaminants or stabilize them within the soil .To analyze the parameters such as soil pH, temperature, soil fungal, bacterial and actinomycetes population of both the samples. Find out what are the metals present in the soil samples. Apply vermicompost to the dye affected soil for reclamation. Again we should analyze soil pH, temperature, fungal, bacterial and actinomycetes population of both the soil samples .The results are discussed with the literature.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------V. DatChain -- Blockchain implementation in Data transfer for IoT Devices

Currently, the IoT ecosystem is comprised of fully connected smart devices that exchange data to provide more automated, precise, and fast decisions. This idealised situation can only be accomplished if a system for data transactions is processed efficiently and security is ensured with high scalability and practicability. The integrity of data must be maintained during the exchange or transfer of data between entities. We propose to make a application called DatChain that responds to the above situation. The application stores data sensed by the Iot sensors in the backend after encrypting it and when the data is required for any purpose it can be exchanged using a suitable blockchain network that can keep up with the transfer rate even at high traffic in a secure environment.Comment: Keywords - Blockchain, Internet of Things, IOTA, Tangle, Data transfer, IoT Data Analytic

Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel-LPG Duel Fuel in Greeves Engine

Get PDF
The main perspective of this paper is to analysis the performance and emission of the diesel engine where diesel is used as primary fuel and LPG is used as subsidiary fuel. In this LPG is attached to the inlet manifold of the engine in which LPG combines with the molecules of oxygen and it barges into the combustion chamber of the engine. Inside this combustion chamber, diesel is injected by an injector during the end of the compression stroke, after this atomization of the fuel takes place eloquently. By this immediately after the combustion of the fuel, heavy loads of power is produced inside the combustion chamber and this is followed by the liberation of exhaust gases such as Hydrocarbon (HC), Nitric oxide (NOx), Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (Co2), Oxygen (O2) etc., As a result of this experiment the emission and the specific fuel consumption of the engine was reduced and brake thermal efficiency was increased. Thus this experiment shows that using LPG as an additive fuel with diesel which is an injecting fuel will increase the efficiency with respect to the traditional diesel fuel operation mode in the diesel engine

Evaluation of analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity of a combination of tramadol-pregabalin in animal models of pain and inflammation

Get PDF
Background: A major goal of pain management is to provide pain relief that is clinically meaningful, sustained, and associated with minimum and reversible adverse effects. Since single analgesic drug is not effective in all patients, there is a need either to develop new and more effective drugs or to identify favourable combinations of drugs that are already available. The aim of the present was to evaluate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity of tramadol and pregabalin when used alone or in combination in animal models of pain and inflammation. Methods: The animals (rats and mice) were divided into eight groups with six animals in each group. Analgesia was assessed by acetic acid induced writhing and tail flick methods in mice and hot plate method in rats. Paw oedema model in rats after induction with 0.1 ml of 1% carrageenan was used to assess the anti‑inflammatory activity. The percentage inhibition of writhes and prolongation of reaction time were used for assessing analgesic activity and reduction in paw volume was used for assessing anti-inflammatory activity. The results obtained were analysed by ANOVA and Tukey HSD Post-hoc Test. Results: Treatment with tramadol pregabalin alone or in combination reduced writhing episodes significantly in acetic acid induced writhing in mice as compared to control indicating its analgesic effect and the highest percentage inhibition of pain was seen with high dose tramadol plus pregabalin. Treatment in Hot plate and Tail flick methods significantly prolonged the reaction time at all time points. Conclusions: Tramadol when combined with pregabalin may enhance its anti-nociceptive effects. If confirmed in additional models of acute and/or chronic pain this combination might be useful in the clinical management of pain not associated with inflammation
