    Edirne il merkezinde ilköğretim okullarındaki öğrencilerde beslenme-obezite-fiziksel aktivite ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesi

    Yüksek LisansKesitsel, tanımlayıcı özellikteki çalışmamız; Edirne il merkezindeki ikinci basamak İlköğretim Okullarında öğrenim gören öğrencilerin yaklaşık %10'u olan 450 kişisini içeren bir çalışmadır. Çalışmamızda Edirne il merkezindeki fazla kilolu-obez öğrenci prevelansını belirlemek, Öğrencilerde obezite oluşumuyla ilişkisi olan etmenleri belirlemek amaçlandı. Öğrencilerin genel bilgileri ile beslenme-fiziksel aktivite alışkanlıklarını gösterecek anket formuyla, Ağırlık-boy ölçümü için Terazi-mezro kullanıldı. Veriler için, bilgisayarda SPSS for Windows 11.0.1 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL) programı kullanılarak tanımlayıcı istatistikler yanında log-lineer ve varyans analizi yapıldı. Öğrencilerin içinde bulunduğu gruba göre BKİ sınıflaması yapıldığında, romanlarda zayıflık, fazla kiloluluk ve obezite sırasıyla %12, %3, %4; Edirne Yerlilerinde %12, %7, %8; Göçmenlerde %10, %5, %1 bulundu. Zayıf-normal kilolu öğrencilerden roman olanların çoğunun ailesinin aylık gelirinin asgari ücret-altında olduğu bulundu. Normal kilolu öğrencilerde Edirne yerlilerinin en çok, Romanların en az oranda sebze-meyve tükettiği bulundu. Romanların en çok, Edirne yerlilerinin en az oranda sağlıksız besin tükettiği saptandı. Normal kilolu öğrencilerde fast-food restoranına hiç gitmeyen öğrenci sayısının en fazla olduğu grup Romanlar, en az olduğu grup Edirne yerlileri olarak bulundu. Edirne yerlisi Fazla kilolu öğrencilerin en fazla oranda günlük 2 saatten az TV-bilgisayar karşısında vakit geçiren öğrenciler olduğu bulundu. Normal kilolu öğrencilerde hiç egzersiz yapmayan öğrenci sayısının en fazla olduğu grup Romanlar olarak bulundu.This cross-sectional and descriptive study includes 450 students that represent 10 % of all students choosen from second step-secondary schools from the central of Edirne. The aims of the study were; to determine the prevelance of over weight-obese students in Edirne, to evaluate the factors related with obesity on students. A questionnaire that shows the main informations, nutrition-physical activity behaviours of students and a scale with tapeline for weight-height measurement is used. The data analysis have been done via SPSS for Windows 11.0.1 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL) on computer. Descriptive statistics, log-linear and variance analysis have been used. Body Mass Index (BMI) classification of students within grups showed that weakness- overweight-obesity ratios were respectively %12, %3, %4 on Roman students; %12, %7, %8 on students from native Edirne; %10, %5, %1 on students migrated from other cities to Edirne. Most of family income of weak-normal weighted Roman students have found under than minimal income. On normal weighted students, it's shown that vegetable-fruit consumption was at the highest level on students from local Edirne and the lowest level on Roman students. On normal weighted students, it's evaluated that unhealtier food consumption was at the highest level on Roman students and the lowest level on students from local Edirne. On normal weighted students, no going to fast-food restaurants was at the highest level on Roman students and the lowest level on students from local Edirne. It's evaluated that the highest level of daily TV watching lower than 2 hours was on students from native Edirne. On normal weighted students, no having physical exercise was at the highest level on Roman students

    THE MEDIATING EFFECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT BETWEEN MOBBING AND TURNOVER INTENTION: AN APPLICATION ON PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS TEACHERS

    The aim of this study is to examine the mediating effect of organizational commitment between mobbing and turnover intention, on physical education and sports teachers. The study included 117 physical education and sports teachers. As the measurement tool, the mobbing scale developed by Yildiz (2019), the organizational commitment scale developed by Allen and Meyer (1990), and the turnover intention scale developed by Landau and Hammer (1986) were used. As a result of the analysis, while mobbing affects organizational commitment significantly and negatively, it has affected turnover intention significantly and positively. It was also observed that organizational commitment has a partial mediating effect between mobbing and turnover intention.  Article visualizations

    Mobbing and organizational commitment are among the issues that concern sports businesses as in every profession. In this study, the effects of mobbing on organizational commitment of employees working in public institutions that provide sports services were examined. This research was attended by employees working in the youth and sports directorate, in Turkey. The mobbing scale developed by Yildiz (2019) and the organizational commitment scale developed by Meyer and Allen (1991) were used in the study. First, the reliability analysis of the scales was made, and the reliability coefficients were seen as quite high. Afterward, correlation and regression analyses were performed on the data. As a result, it has been observed that mobbing affects the employees' organizational commitment significantly and negatively.  Article visualizations

    Turkish Validity and Reliability of the Hikikomori (Social Withdrawal) Scale (HQ-25)

    Objective: This study was conducted to determine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Hikikomori (HQ-25) scale. Participants: The sample of the study consisted of 418 nursing students. Methods: Language and content validity and exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were used in the validity-reliability analysis of scale. In addition, Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, item-total score correlation, and test-retest reliability methods were used. CFA, it was observed that three-factor structure of scale was preserved in the Turkish sample as well. Significant correlations were found between the scale and other scales (p\u3c0.01). Results: As a result, it was adapted into Turkish, revealing that the scale is valid and reliable in measuring the social withdrawal behavior of individuals. It is recommended to evaluate using the scale in risky groups in terms of social withdrawal

    Bu çalışmanın amacı ilköğretim ve ortaöğretimde görev yapan fen ve fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin mesleki yeterliliklerinin bazı değişkenlere göre incelenmesidir. Bu çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak "Fen Bilimleri Öğretmenlerinin Yeterlik Ölçütleri ve Göstergeleri Ölçeği" ile kişisel bilgiler anketi kullanılmış ve İzmir ilinde görev yapan 437 öğretmene uygulanmıştır. Bunun yanında 26 öğretmene yöneltilen 6 (altı) açık uçlu soru yardımıyla ek veriler toplanmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde nicel ve nitel veri çözümleme tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak; öğretmenlerimizin ilköğretim ya da ortaöğretimde görev yapıyor olmalarına, öğretmenlik yaptıkları alanlara, hizmet sürelerine ve hizmetiçi eğitim almalarına göre görüşlerinde anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuş ve sonuçlar tartışılarak birtakım önerilerde bulunulmuştur.ABSTRACT : In this research, the carrier aptitudes of science teachers working in the primary and secondary schools are investigated related to some variables. Data were collected through "Scale of Science Teachers Aptitude Criteria and Indicators" and demographic information questionnaire which are applied to the 437 teachers working in İzmir. Beside this, additional data were collected through six open ended questions applied to the 26 teachers. In this research, quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques were used. Finally, it was found that there were meaningful differences in terms of some variables (working in the primary and secondary scholls, teaching branches, employment time, attending in-service training program). Results were discussed and some suggestions were made

    AN ASSESSMENT OF PROSPECTIVE PHYSICS TEACHERS' OPINIONS ON THE PHYSICS TEXTBOOK FOR THE 9TH GRADE AND A COMPARISON WITH TEACHERS' OPINIONS

    Araştırmada, fizik öğretmen adaylarının 2007 Ortaöğretim Fizik Programına göre hazırlanan Fizik 9 ders kitabına ilişkin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi, bu görüşlerin kitabı tanıma durumları, tanıma dereceleri ile fizik programının tümünü ve 9. sınıf fizik programını tanıma durumları açılarından incelenmesi ve bir başka çalışmamızda değerlendirilen fizik öğretmenlerinin görüşleri ile kıyaslanması amaçlanmıştır. Tarama modelinin kullanıldığı araştırmanın örneklemini 2008-2009 ve 2009-2010 öğretim yıllarında öğrenim gören 69 son sınıf fizik öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın veri toplama araçları, 131 maddelik ders kitabı değerlendirme ölçeği ve ek sorulardan oluşan ankettir. Fizik 9, bütünsel açıdan öğretmen adaylarınca iyi, öğretmenlerce yeterli olarak değerlendirilmiş, fizik öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlere göre daha olumlu görüş içinde oldukları anlaşılmıştır. The purpose of the study is to determine prospective physics teachers' opinions on the physics textbook for the 9th grade which was prepared in accordance with the 2007 secondary education curriculum; to examine these opinions in terms of variables such as the means of encountering the book and the degree of knowledge of the book; and to compare prospective teachers' opinions with the physics teachers' opinions ascertained in another study by the present authors. A scanning model was used in the research. The sample of the research consists of 69 prospective physics teachers studying in the final grade in the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 academic years. A 131-item textbook assessment scale and a questionnaire form with additional questions were used as data collecting instruments. The textbook Physics 9 was assessed as "good" by prospective teachers and assessed as "adequate" by teachers. It was observed that the prospective teachers had more positive views than teachers about the textbook

    Investigation of fetal cardiac function using tissue doppler imaging in fetuses compromised by growth restriction

    Objectives: The primary aim of this study was to evaluate fetal cardiac systolic and diastolic function using the tissue Dopplertechnique in pregnancies with complications of fetal growth restriction (FGR) and to examine the relationship betweenFGR with umbilical artery Doppler parameters and fetal cardiac function in complicated pregnancies.Material and methods: This study included 30 pregnant women with FGR complications and 46 pregnant women withoutFGR complications. Both groups were at 24–34 gestational weeks. Fetal cardiac examination was performed using pulsedDoppler and tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) in all pregnancies. In the analysis of myocardial tissue by tissue Doppler, thetracing obtained from the junction of the tricuspid valve annulus with the right ventricle was recorded by measuring theduration of the isovolumetric contraction wave (IVC), ejection time (ET), and isovolumetric relaxation time (IVR). Furthermore,we calculated the myocardial performance index (MPI) and then measured and recorded the early diastolic annular rate.Results: Based on the TDI studies, the mean IVC and IVR values were significantly longer and the ET values were significantlyshorter in the study group than those in the control group. The study group also had significantly longer MPI measurements.Conclusions: Because TDI is a considerably more sensitive method than cardiac sonographic evaluation using pulsedDoppler, tissue Doppler parameters facilitate the detection of cardiac dysfunction at a relatively early stage. In addition,TDI and myocardial evaluation in fetuses with FGR can be noninvasively performed in clinical practice

ÇalıĞ¢manın örneklemini, Ğ zmir‟deki bir devlet üniversitesinin fizik öğretmenliği programı 4. ve 5. sınıflarında okumakta olan 80 öğretmen adayı oluĞ¢turmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak daha önce fizik öğretmenlerine uygulanan 35 kapalı uçlu ve 11 açık uçlu sorudan oluĞ¢an bir anket kullanılmıĞ¢tır. Ankette yer alan sorulardan elde edilen verilerin frekans dağılımları belirlenmiĞ¢tir. Öğretmen adayları ve öğretmenler fizik uygulama derslerinin yeniden programda yer alması ve fizik ders saatlerinin artırılması, 9. sınıf programındaki konuların genel kültür düzeyinde kalması, 10. sınıf programında mekanik konularının ve 11. sınıfta ise elektrik konularının tümünün yer alması gerektiğini belirtmiĞ¢lerdir. Bu bulgular doğrultusunda ortaöğretim fizik ders konularının yıllara göre sıralanması, aĞ¢amalılık ve önkoĞ¢ul ilkeleri dikkate alınarak tablo halinde sunulmuĞ¢tur. \r\n\r\nABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the physics program arrangements by determining the ideas of prospective physics teachers on the the secondary school physics program arrangements in 2005 following the increase from three years to four years period, and by comparing them with the ideas of the physics teachers on the same subject. The sampling of the study consisted of 80 prospective teachers who attend 4th and 5th classes at a state university‟s physics education program. In order to collect the views of prospective teachers, a questionnaire, including 35 close-ended and 11 open-ended questions was used. The frequency distribution of data that was obtained from close-ended and open-ended questions was determined. Suggestions of prospective teachers and physics teachers regarding the physics program arrangements are; Physics Application courses should be included in the program and the hours of the physics courses should be increased, making 9th degree physics program should only be on general culture level, the content of 10th level should be only for mechanical topics and the content of 11th level should be only for electrical topics. According to the findings, suggestions were presented as a table for listing year-based secondary school physics courses by considering the principles of progressiveness in unit order and prerequisite for other lessons

    Sexual functions and prolactin levels in patients with bipolar disorder

    Objective: Mood stabilizers and antipsychotic drugs are known to have adverse effects on sexual function. However, patients often refrain from speaking about sexual complaints that may cause dose reduction and discontinuation of the drug without medical supervision. In this study we aimed to evaluate sexual functions of patients with bipolar disorder in remission period, considering prolactin levels and medications. Method: We recruited 52 patients with bipolar disorder in remission according to DSM-IV diagnostic criteria. Prolactin levels were measured in all patients. The Golombok Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction (GRISS) was used to assess sexual dysfunction. Results: Mean prolactin levels were 24.71 ± 4.25 and 19.96 ± 5.52 ng/ml respectively for females and males. Patients taking mood stabilizer (MS) and mood stabilizer plus antipsychotic (AP) treatment had different prolactin levels (p<0.001). Total GRISS scores were not different for MS and MS+AP treatment groups. We didn't find a correlation between Total GRISS scores and prolactin levels. There was a significant deterioration in female non-sensuality, female dissatisfaction and anorgasmia subscales of female patients and significant deterioration in premature ejaculation, impotence and male dissatisfaction subscales of male patients. Discussion: In our sample, both men and women patients with bipolar disorder in remission have sexual dysfunctions. Our results suggest that prolactin levels are not sufficient to demonstrate the sexual dysfunction. To enhance patient compliance it is necessary to focus more on sexual symptoms of patients receiving MS and AP treatment

To exceed the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, various scientific authorities in the world have procreated advances in real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) based diagnostic tests, rapid diagnostic kits, the development of vaccines for immunization, and the purposing pharmaceuticals for treatment. Diagnosis, treatment, and immunization approaches put for- ward by scientific communities are cross-fed from the accrued knowledge of multidisciplinary sciences in health biotechnology. So much so that the pandemic, urgently prioritized in the world, is not only viral infections but also has been the pulsion in the development of novel approaches in many fields such as diagnosis, treatment, translational medicine, virology, mi- crobiology, immunology, functional nano- and bio-materials, bioinformatics, molecular biol- ogy, genetics, tissue engineering, biomedical devices, and artificial intelligence technologies.
