New lichen records from the Novgorod Region, Russia
Twenty lichen species are reported as new to the Novgorod Region (Russia) from Valdaysky National Park and Rdeysky Nature Reserve. Pyrenula chlorospila is recorded for the first time for European Russia outside Caucasus. Acrocordia cavata, Pertusaria coccodes, Rostania occultata and Scytinium subtile are recommended to be included in the Red Data Book of the Novgorod Region.
Formation of a Culture of Life Safety is the Basis of Healthy Growing up of Young People
The aim of the study is to study the formation of a culture of life safety as the basis for the maturation of young people. Methods used: analysis of theoretical sources, statistical data, comparative analysis. The concepts of “life safety culture”, “informing” and “modern risks” are disclosed. The advantages of informing young people about modern risks for the continuous formation of a culture of life safety are described. It was revealed that the lack of education programs in secondary vocational institutions, taking into account modern risks, does not fully ensure the healthy maturation of young people and may be the cause of deviant behavior. The result of the article can be applied when updating life safety training programs in secondary professional institutions. Thanks to due attention to this problem, it is possible to introduce novelty in the field of life safety and reduce the rates of deviant behavior of young people aged 15–35 years
The iridium double perovskite Sr2YIrO6 revisited: A combined structural and specific heat study
Recently, the iridate double perovskite SrYIrO has attracted
considerable attention due to the report of unexpected magnetism in this
Ir (5d) material, in which according to the J model, a
non-magnetic ground state is expected. However, in recent works on
polycrystalline samples of the series BaSrYIrO no indication of
magnetic transitions have been found. We present a structural, magnetic and
thermodynamic characterization of SrYIrO single crystals, with emphasis
on the temperature and magnetic field dependence of the specific heat. Here, we
demonstrate the clue role of single crystal X-ray diffraction on the structural
characterization of the SrYIrO double perovskite crystals by reporting
the detection of a supercell, where ,
and are the unit cell dimensions of the reported monoclinic subcell. In
agreement with the expected non-magnetic ground state of Ir (5d) in
SrYIrO, no magnetic transition is observed down to 430~mK. Moreover,
our results suggest that the low temperature anomaly observed in the specific
heat is not related to the onset of long-range magnetic order. Instead, it is
identified as a Schottky anomaly caused by paramagnetic impurities present in
the sample, of the order of \%. These impurities lead to
non-negligible spin correlations, which nonetheless, are not associated with
long-range magnetic ordering.Comment: 20 pages, 10 figure
A new surfactant-copper(ii) complex based on 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane amphiphile. Crystal structure determination, self-assembly and functional activity
© the Owner Societies 2018. A new surfactant-copper(ii) complex [Cu(L)Br3] (where LBr is 1-cetyl-4-aza-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bromide) containing a transition metal in the head group has been synthesized and characterized. Physicochemical properties, thermal stability and 3D structure were determined using X-ray diffractometry, UV-vis spectroscopy, simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry combined with mass-spectrometry of evolved vapors. The study of the self-assembly and morphological features of associated structures was performed by potentiometry using a bromide ion selective electrode and fluorescence of pyrene and 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene. The influence of the metal ion embedded into the surfactant structure on critical micelle concentration, degree of counterion binding, aggregation numbers and morphology of the associates was elucidated. High solubilizing capacity and complexation ability of the metal containing micelles with respect to Orange-OT hydrophobic dye and oligonucleotide were determined. Importantly, the functional properties of this metallosurfactant complex are much better compared to those of classical cationic surfactants bearing cyclic and acyclic head groups, LBr and the LBr-CuBr2 mixture. The new cationic metallosurfactant could be recommended for investigation in gene therapy
Antiferromagnetic Dimers of Ni(II) in the S=1 Spin-Ladder Na_2Ni_2(C_2O_4)_3(H_2O)_2
We report the synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of the S=1
2-leg spin-ladder compound Na_2Ni_2(C_2O_4)_3(H_2O)_2. The magnetic properties
were examined by magnetic susceptibility and pulsed high field magnetization
measurements. The magnetic excitations have been measured in high field high
frequency ESR. Although the Ni(II) ions form structurally a 2-leg ladder, an
isolated dimer model consistently describes the observations very well. The
analysis of the temperature dependent magnetization data leads to a magnetic
exchange constant of J=43 K along the rungs of the ladder and an average value
of the g-factor of 2.25. From the ESR measurements, we determined the single
ion anisotropy to D=11.5 K. The validity of the isolated dimer model is
supported by Quantum Monte Carlo calculations, performed for several ratios of
interdimer and intradimer magnetic exchange and taking into account the
experimentally determined single ion anisotropy. The results can be understood
in terms of the different coordination and superexchange angles of the oxalate
ligands along the rungs and legs of the 2-leg spin ladder.Comment: 8 pages, 10 figure
Land Resources of Alagirskii District As a Factor of Sustainable Development of the Agro-industrial Complex
The most important condition for the rational organization of the territory is the formation of a morphological appearance, which is distinguished by high productivity, ecological diversity, aesthetic appeal, and will satisfy sanitary and hygienic requirements. The use of land resources in the Alagirskii District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the development of measures for rational organization of the territory, with the creation of an effective system of land use, evaluation criteria of environmental reliability, social acceptability, economic efficiency and compliance with the legal regime of land use, are a necessary condition for the rational use of land. In this work, materials of land inventory for 2016–2018, data of the committee of land and property relations of the district, statistical data on the effectiveness of agricultural land were used. The developed data allows to establish the optimal ratio of natural ecosystems and agro-ecosystems for this natural-agricultural zone, to establish optimal areas of arable and forage lands that need improvement based on the landscape features of the territory for stability and development of agricultural production
