Studies on clustering of chilli (Capsicum annum L.) genotypes based on genetic distance
Mahalanobis' D2 statistics was used to analyse forty-five chilli (Capsicum annum L.) genotypes based on eighteen characters in order to pick out supreme potential parents for hybridization. Based on D2 values, the genotypes were divided into eleven groups with extreme divergence. Cluster I had the majority of genotypes (sixteen), whereas the fewest genotypes were identified in clusters VII, VIII, X and XI (one). Cluster XI had the greatest distance within the cluster. Clusters V and XI had the maximum generalized distance between them, followed by clusters VII and XI, clusters IV and VII, clusters IV and V and clusters II and XI. This suggests that the genotypes in these groups had more genetic variation. Following cluster VII and VIII, cluster V showed the highest cluster mean for green, dry fruit yield (846g and 95.50g) and several yield-related features. At clusters I, II and VI, no observation for high cluster means but had fair trait performance. It may be suggested to directly advance the genotypes from clusters V, VII, VII in hybridization to obtain unique recombinants
Feasibility Analysis of Solar Power for the Safety of Fast Reactors during beyond Design Basis Events
This chapter presents a new design that unites the favorable technical and ecological characteristics of the solar and nuclear power plants. The current designs of nuclear reactors promise integral configuration of the primary coolant loop, secondary coolant loop, and a number of passive safety functions and overall simplification of the reactor. The present nuclear reactor design emphasizes on the safety of the reactor core at all times, i.e., controlling the reactor, cooling the reactor core, and maintaining containment. In case of non-availability of standby emergency DGs during beyond design basis event like Fukushima incident, etc., leading to extended station blackout conditions, the passive decay heat removal system will be affected. Hence, additional DGs have been made as a mandatory requirement in nuclear power plants. In case the ADG could not be mobilized during BDBE, an additional backup power source not affected by BDBE is appreciated. Hence in addition to the diesel power sources (EDG and ADG), a new design was developed for integration of diesel power with solar power. The hybrid system was designed to improve the reliability and availability of passive heat removal system, to ensure a reliable supply without interruption, and to improve the overall system reliability (by the integration with the battery bank). This hybrid power also gives the redundant power supply to the safety critical systems. This chapter also features a detailed reliability analysis carried out for power supplies to the safety critical loads. In addition a comparison was made between PV/diesel/battery with diesel/battery. These new hybrid systems conserves diesel fuel and reduce CO2 as well as particulate emissions that are harmful to environment health. Integration of solar power to the existing battery power will increase the reliability and extended availability of the system and thereby ensures safety of the plant during crisis/calamities
A SURVEY OF PROACTIVE AND REACTIVE PROTOCOLS IN MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKS
Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is one of wireless communication with a collection of more than one device or nodes or terminals which contain network capability that communicate with each other. A Mobile ad-hoc network is set of different types of movable nodes and consists of mobile platforms which are free to move randomly. MANET can be deployed at low cost in variety of application and it contains different types of routing protocols which are classified under the category of proactive (Table driven Protocols) and reactive protocols (on-demand). Nodes can directly communicate to all other nodes within the broadcast communication. If node could not have direct communication then they can act as intermediate node to communicate with other nodes. This paper focus on the survey of proactive and reactive routing protocols namely DSDVR, CGSR, GSR, WRP and DSR, AODV, TORA respectively
Preliminary studies on parasitization potential of Braconid Wasp (Bracon hebetor Say) against certain Lepidopteran insect pest
A study on parasitization percentage of Bracon hebetor Say on certain lepidopteran insect pest on Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica Stainton), Tomato fruit borer (Helicoverpa armigera Hubner),Tobacco leaf eating caterpillar (Spodoptera litura Fabricius) and okra fruit borer (Earias vitella Fabricius), studied at ordinary room temperature under invitro conditions and revealed that C. cephalonica was the most suitable host for the development of B. hebetor among the host species tested regarding the parasitization percentage was high in C. cephalonica followed by S. litura, H. armigera and E. vitella
3-(7,8,13,14-Tetrahydrodibenzo[a,i]phenanthridin-5-yl)benzene-1,2-diol
In the title compound, C27H21NO2, the half-chair conformation of the alicyclic rings gives rise to a slightly folded structure of the central tricyclic tetrahydrophenanthridine unit. Tandem intramolecular O—H⋯N and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds give rise to adjacent S(6) and S(5) rings, respectively, which dictate the conformation of the 5-aryl substituent. In the crystal structure, an intermolecular C—H⋯O contact generates chains parallel to [101]. Short O—H⋯π and C—H⋯π contacts are also observed

(3E,5E)-1-Benzyl-3,5-bis(2-fluorobenzylidene)piperidin-4-one
The inversion-related molecules of the title compound, C26H21F2NO, associate into closed dimeric subunits via co-operative C—H⋯π interactions. Two non-classical C—H⋯O and one C—H⋯N intramolecular hydrogen bonds are also found in the crystal structure. The piperidin-4-one ring adopts a sofa conforamtion with the 1-benzyl group in the equatorial position, and the equiplanar fluorophenyl substituents in the 3- and 5-positions stretched out on either side. The 1-benzyl group is disposed towards the substituent in the 6th position of the piperidin-4-one ring. The 3,5-diene units possess E configurations
Evaluation of polyhalite on growth, yield attributes and yield of blackgram (Vigna mungo L.)
Potassium is involved in a diverse range of processes within plants that are needed for their growth, yield and better quality. The polyhalite as a hydrated evaporate mineral that can be used directly as a source of potassic fertilizer. However, research on polyhalite's appropriateness and effectiveness, the present investigation aimed to evaluate the effect of polyhalite on growth, yield attributes, and yield of blackgram variety ADT 5 at Chinnakandiankuppam village, Vriddhachalam, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu, during 2021. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design consisting of ten treatments viz., T1 (absolute control), T2 (-K), T3 (12.5 kg K2O ha-1 as muriate of potash (MOP)), T4 (25 kg K2O ha-1as MOP), T5 (37.5 kg K2O ha-1 as MOP), T6 (50 kg K2O ha-1 as MOP), T7 (12.5 kg K2O ha-1 as polyhalite), T8 (25 kg K2O ha-1 as polyhalite), T9 (37.5 kg K2O ha-1 as polyhalite), T10 (50 kg K2O ha-1 as polyhalite). The experiment revealed that the application of 37.5 kg K2O ha-1 as polyhalite (T9) significantly (5%) enhanced the growth attributes (plant height (38.7 cm), number of branches plant-1 (12.97), leaf area index (2.13), number of nodules plant-1 (18.76) and dry matter production (1972 hg ha-1), yield attributes (pod length (8.21 cm), number of pods plant-1 (20.05), number of seeds pod-1 (7.14) and test weight (3.53 g)) and grain yield (1439 kg ha-1), haulm yield (1876 kg ha-1) of blackgram. Thus the study would be helpful to farmers for yield maximization of blackgram through polyhalite as potassic fertilizer.
