Bethe-Salpeter Amplitudes and Static Properties of the Deuteron
Extended calculations of the deuteron's static properties, based on the
numerical solution of the Bethe-Salpeter equation, are presented. A formalism
is developed, which provides a comparative analysis of the covariant amplitudes
in various representations and nonrelativistic wave functions. The magnetic and
quadrupole moments of the deuteron are calculated in the Bethe-Salpeter
formalism and the role of relativistic corrections is discussed.Comment: 33 pages ([aps]{revtex} style), 9 Postscript figures; (55 pages if

Elastic proton-deuteron backward scattering: relativistic effects and polarization observables
The elastic proton-deuteron backward reaction is analyzed within a covariant approach based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation with 000. Lorentz boost and other relativistic effects in the cross section and spin correlation observables, like tensor analyzing power and polarization transfer etc., are investigated in explicit form. Results of numerical calculations for a complete set of polarization observables are presented. The tensor analyzing power T_2_0 in deuteron break-up reactions within the Bethe-Salpeter formalism
The deuteron tensor analyzing power T_2_0 in the deuteron break-up reaction D_p #-># pX is calculated within a relativistic approach based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation with a realistic meson-exchange potential. Our results on T_2_0 and the cross section are compared with experimental data and non-relativistic calculations and with the outcome of a relativization procedure of the deuteron wave function. Relativistic description of exclusive deuteron break-up reactions
The exclusive deuteron break-up reaction is analyzed within a covariant approach based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation with realistic meson-exchange interaction. Relativistic effects in the cross section, tensor analyzing power and polarization transfer are investigated in explicit form. Results of numerical calculations are presented for kinematical conditions in forthcoming p + D reactions at COSY. The deuteron spin-dependent structure function within an effective meson-nucleon theory
A consistent theoretical approach is suggested for the description of deep inelastic scattering of polarized leptons off polarized deuterons within the operator product expansion method and an effective meson-nucleon theory. Our approach describes fairly well recent deuteron experimental data on the spin structure function g_1(x).
