VANET Applications: Hot Use Cases
Current challenges of car manufacturers are to make roads safe, to achieve
free flowing traffic with few congestions, and to reduce pollution by an
effective fuel use. To reach these goals, many improvements are performed
in-car, but more and more approaches rely on connected cars with communication
capabilities between cars, with an infrastructure, or with IoT devices.
Monitoring and coordinating vehicles allow then to compute intelligent ways of
transportation. Connected cars have introduced a new way of thinking cars - not
only as a mean for a driver to go from A to B, but as smart cars - a user
extension like the smartphone today. In this report, we introduce concepts and
specific vocabulary in order to classify current innovations or ideas on the
emerging topic of smart car. We present a graphical categorization showing this
evolution in function of the societal evolution. Different perspectives are
adopted: a vehicle-centric view, a vehicle-network view, and a user-centric
view; described by simple and complex use-cases and illustrated by a list of
emerging and current projects from the academic and industrial worlds. We
identified an empty space in innovation between the user and his car:
paradoxically even if they are both in interaction, they are separated through
different application uses. Future challenge is to interlace social concerns of
the user within an intelligent and efficient driving
Radiofrequency Identification by using Drones in Railway Accidents and Disaster Situations
Today, railway operation procedures include the transportation of large amount of hazardous substances. Our research has been motivated by the desire to find concrete and urgent solutions to the safety issues of handling waste generated manly in case of accidents and disaster situations during the transportation of hazardous substances In order to ensure safety in the transportation of dangerous goods, and to facilitate the fast and efficient waste handling of hazardous substances released into the environment during unexpected events, we have elaborated a new method, in which we suggest the radiofrequency identification of dangerous consignments in case of disaster situations by the use of drones
Toll issues
Čtvrtá část popisuje problematiku a zhodnocení systému zavedení, rozšiřování a výběru mýta.The bachelor thesis deals with the issues of toll collection in the road network. The first part of the work describes the established tolling methods and focuses on volume-distance tolling. It deals with electronic toll collection systems and the microwave toll technology used in the Czech Republic. The second part focuses on the fees charged for use of road network, function of the Customs Administration and telematic systems. The third part centers on the extension of toll to second- and third-class roads and the costs of implementation and managment of toll collection. The fourth part of the work discusses the issues and evaluation of the system of implementation, extension and collection of toll.
Surface Wave Minimizing in 2x2 Microstrip Antenna Array
Key research area is improving band width and gain in design of microstrip patch antennas. reducing surface waves, which can be excitation in patch antennas, by using Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) structures ,which increasing the band width and gain . The surface of EBG are selective in supporting surface waves. The paper analyses the performance of 2x2 microstrip antenna array with and without EBG cells . It is observed the performance of the 2x2 antenna array with EBG is found to be better as compared to microstrip antenna array without EBG . Simulation results show improvements in the band width and gain, redusing surface wave means reduction in mutual coupling between elements in antenna array. in this work using HFSS software to simulated the antennas array . Keywords: (EBG), Microstrip antenna array ,Mutual coupling , Surface waves, HFSS
