Research institutions in Indonesia have an important role in improving knowledge, skills, and the economy of the community through the use of research results. However, until now, the results of domestic research have not been well disseminated. One of the factors that influence it is the not yet optimal collaboration between researchers and public relations as science communicators in communicating research results to the public. This study uses qualitative method with case study approach of dissemination of Beyonic Startmik-LIPI Biological Organic Fertilizer in 2021. The study used the primary data source of conversations between researchers and publicists through whatsapp media. Interview techniques are conducted online through zoom meetings. In analyzing conversations between researchers and public relations, this study uses Coordinated Meaning Management Theory. Secondary data sources are obtained through dissemination activity report documents as well as POH Beyonic Startmik-LIPI news on the website. The results showed the communication strategy of public relations and researchers in the dissemination activities of POH Beyonik Startmik through three stages, namely: (1) the preparation stage includes coordinating schedule information and confirmation of resource persons, (2) the implementation stage shall include coordinating the preparation of the trip and the presentation method, (3) the evaluation stage shall include coordinating the preparation of news content.Lembaga penelitian di Indonesia memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan perekonomian masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan hasil penelitian. Radical azidation reactions and their application in the synthesis of alkaloids

    Get PDF
Recent advances in radical azidation using sulfonyl azides are presented. For instance, radical carboazidation using α-iodoketones, desulfitative carboazidation, and anti-Markovnikov hydroazidation of alkenes are described. These novel methods tolerate a large number of functional groups and allow the synthesis of organic azides that would be difficult to synthesize otherwise. The transformation of the azides using reductive processes as well as a Schmidt reaction under nonacidic conditions were used to synthesize alkaloids including indolizidine 167B, monomorine I, cylindricine C, and lepadiformine

Two-dimensional electron crystals in single and double layers

    Get PDF
We present results of Monte-Carlo simulations for finite 2D single and bilayer systems. Strong Coulomb correlations lead to arrangement of particles in configurations resembling a crystal lattice. For binary layers, there exists a particularly rich variety of lattice symmetries which depend on the interlayer separation dd. We demonstrate that in these mesoscopic lattices there exist two fundamental types of ordering: radial and orientational. The dependence of the melting temperature on dd is analyzed, and a stabilization of the crystal compared to a single layer is found.Comment: To be published in Contrib. RKWard: A Comprehensive Graphical User Interface and Integrated Development Environment for Statistical Analysis with R

    Get PDF
R is a free open-source implementation of the S statistical computing language and programming environment. The current status of R is a command line driven interface with no advanced cross-platform graphical user interface (GUI), but it includes tools for building such. Over the past years, proprietary and non-proprietary GUI solutions have emerged, based on internal or external tool kits, with different scopes and technological concepts. For example, Rgui.exe and Rgui.app have become the de facto GUI on the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X platforms, respectively, for most users. In this paper we discuss RKWard which aims to be both a comprehensive GUI and an integrated development environment for R. RKWard is based on the KDE software libraries. Statistical procedures and plots are implemented using an extendable plugin architecture based on ECMAScript (JavaScript), R, and XML. RKWard provides an excellent tool to manage different types of data objects; even allowing for seamless editing of certain types. The objective of RKWard is to provide a portable and extensible R interface for both basic and advanced statistical and graphical analysis, while not compromising on flexibility and modularity of the R programming environment itself

High Flux Helium Irradiation of Dispersion-Strengthened Tungsten Alloys and Effects of Heavy Metal Impurity Layer Deposition

    Get PDF
Tungsten has been chosen as the plasma-facing material (PFM) for the divertor region in ITER and also a candidate PFM for future plasma-burning nuclear fusion reactors. During fusion device operation, PFMs will be exposed to low-energy He irradiation at high temperatures, resulting in sub-surface bubbles and surface morphology changes such as pores and fuzz. Carbide dispersion-strengthened W materials may enhance the ductility of W, but their behavior under high flux He irradiation remains unclear. In this work, the response of dispersion-strengthened tungsten materials to high flux, low energy He irradiation at high temperature is examined. Tungsten alloyed with 1, 5, or 10 wt. % tantalum carbide or titanium carbide exposed to these conditions result in surface pores, coral-like feature growth and sub-surface helium bubbles. Reactor-relevant helium irradiation (5x10 26_ m-2_ fluence) combined with high powered laser pulses to simulate off-normal reactor events does not significantly alter the surface morphology, as the surface nanostructures appear stable and cracks are only observed on a localized region of one sample. However, specimens show the development of an impurity layer on the surface, likely impurity deposition from the sample holder during irradiation, resulting in a mixed material layer on the surface. Helium bubbles exist in this impurity layer, and obscure conclusions about helium interactions with the carbide dispersoids. Nonetheless, it is clear that the dispersoid microstructure limits He bubble formation and subsequent surface nanostructuring, attributed to the dispersoid composition.</p

An unusual coalition of medullary nephrocalcinosis with a novel genotypic variant of Alport syndrome type-1

    Get PDF
Alport’s syndrome is a type of inherited disorder of the basement membrane characterized by a spectrum of phenotypes ranging from progressive renal injury to varied extrarenal manifestations comprising auditory and ocular abnormalities. Here in, we present a 3-year-old child born out of nonconsanguineous marriage who presented with fever, intermittent microscopic haematuria, and recurrent gross haematuria, proteinuria with normal auditory brainstem response and ocular slit lamp examination findings. Renal biopsy yielded normal light microscopy and immunofluorescence study whereas minimal changes in the glomerular basement membrane (GBM) collagen were detected on electron microscopy, suggesting possibilities of Alport’s syndrome. Ultrasonographic renal imaging yielded the presence of bilateral medullary nephrocalcinosis. Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors along with angiotensin receptor blockers were used to curb the disease progression. A final clinical exome sequencing corroborated the phenotype with a diagnosis of Alport’s syndrome type-1 linked to a novel pathogenic variant c.1892dup (p.Gly632ArgfsTer2) showing hemizygous single base pair insertion/duplication in COL4A5 gene. To the best of our knowledge, this unusual association of Alport’s syndrome with medullary nephrocalcinosis has not been reported worldwide in any previous medical literature making this report a primi one
