    Get PDF
Understanding of mobile internet traffic patterns and capacity to estimate future traffic, particularly at high spatiotemporal granularity, is crucial for proactive decision making in emerging and future cognizant cellular networks enabled with self-organizing features. It becomes even more important in the world of `Internet of Things' with machines communicating locally. In this paper, internet activity data from a mobile network operator Call Detail Records (CDRs) is analysed at high granularity to study the spatiotemporal variance and traffic patterns. To estimate future traffic at high granularity, a Support Vector Regression (SVR) based traffic model is trained and evaluated for the prediction of maximum, minimum and average internet traffic in the next hour based on the actual traffic in the last hour. Performance of the model is compared with that of the State-of-the-Art (SOTA) deep learning models recently proposed in the literature for the same data, same granularity, and same predicates. It is concluded that this SVR model outperforms the SOTA deep and non-deep learning methods used in the literature

The development of a powerful product and the deliverance of recognized support quality are premised by staff's capability to provide on client objectives. No concern has been given, however, to knowing the ‘added value’ exemplified in an organization’s product due to the operant sources (skills and knowledge) provided by the organization’s individual investment. This research, therefore, examines the differential impact that internal focused projects have on an organization’s individual investment and its following impact on the organization’s product, from the worker's viewpoint. In-depth discussions were performed with workers across a variety of support sectors and the results provide a knowing into the development of worker product dedication. Furthermore, this empirical research provides a powerful foundation for upcoming research in this region. Keywords: employees, brand commitment, internal brandin

Analysis of generalized compressor characteristics on surge phenomena in axial compressors

    Get PDF
The paper discusses the effect of compressor characteristic on surge phenomena in axial flow compressors. Specifically, the effect of nonlinearities on the compressor dynamics is analyzed. For this purpose, generalized multiple time scales method is used to parameterize equations in amplitude and frequency explicitly. The pure surge case of the famous Moore-Greitzer model is used as the basis of the study. The compressor characteristic used in the Moore-Greitzer model is generalized to evaluate the effect of the parameters involved. Subsequently, bifurcation theory is used to study the effect of nonlinear dynamics on surge behavior. It has been found that the system exhibits supercritical Hopf bifurcation under specific conditions in which surge manifests as limit cycle oscillations. Key parameters have been identified in the analytical solution which govern the nonlinear dynamic behavior and are responsible for the existence of limit cycle oscillations. Numerical simulations of the Moore-Greitzer model are carried out and found to be in good agreement with the analytical solution

    Get PDF
The cost effective synthesis of electroactive polyaniline (PANI) while retaining its desirable properties is one of the most debatable and challenging tasks for researchers in the field. Herein, we report a cost effective inverse emulsion polymerization pathway for the synthesis of soluble and processable PANI salt by using diesel as a novel dispersion medium. Different reaction parameters and their effects on the properties and yield of polyaniline were optimized. The polymer exhibited a highly porous morphology and was found to be stable up to 417 °C. The PANI salt showed good solubility in common solvents, such as chloroform, N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) and in a 1:3 mixtures by volume of 2-propanol and toluene. The coating of the synthesized PANI salt on stainless steel has shown good corrosion resistant behavior in marine water by reducing the corrosion rate to 67.9% as compared to uncoated stainless steel

Identification of an effective nondestructive technique for bond defect determination in laminate composites—A technical review

    Get PDF
Laminate composites are commonly used for the production of critical mechanical structures and components such as wind turbine blades, helicopter rotors, unmanned aerial vehicle wings and honeycomb structures for aircraft wings. During the manufacturing process of these composite structures, zones or areas with weak bond strength are always issues, which may affect the strength and performance of components. The identification and quantification of these zones are always challenging and necessary for the mass production. Non-destructive testing methods available, including ultrasonic A, B, and C-Scan, laser shearography, X-ray tomography, and thermography can be useful for the mentioned purposes. A comparison of these techniques concerning their capacity of identification and quantification of bond defects; however, still needs a comprehensive review. In this paper, a detailed comparison of several non-destructive testing techniques is provided. Emphasis is placed to institute a guideline to select the most suitable technique for the identification of zones with bond defects in laminated composites. Experimental tests on different composite based machined components are also discussed in detail. The discussion provides practical evidence about the effectiveness of different non-destructive testing techniques.N/

    Get PDF
Personalized hydration level monitoring play vital role in sports, health, wellbeing and safety of a person while performing particular set of activities. Clinical staff must be mindful of numerous physiological symptoms that identify the optimum hydration specific to the person, event and environment. Hence, it becomes extremely critical to monitor the hydration levels in a human body to avoid potential complications and fatalities. Hydration tracking solutions available in the literature are either inefficient and invasive or require clinical trials. An efficient hydration monitoring system is very required, which can regularly track the hydration level, non-invasively. To this aim, this paper proposes a machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) enabled hydration tracking system, which can accurately estimate the hydration level in human skin using galvanic skin response (GSR) of human body. For this study, data is collected, in three different hydration states, namely hydrated, mild dehydration (8 hours of dehydration) and extreme mild dehydration (16 hours of dehydration), and three different body postures, such as sitting, standing and walking. Eight different ML algorithms and four different DL algorithms are trained on the collected GSR data. Their accuracies are compared and a hybrid (ML+DL) model is proposed to increase the estimation accuracy. It can be reported that hybrid Bi-LSTM algorithm can achieve an accuracy of 97.83%
